Summer Nights

Summer Nights

Chapter One
The forest was quiet, only the faint and musical birdcalls cutting through the silence.
It was kind of eerie, Kerry thought as she studied the cabin she stood in front of. The cabin she was going to spend the summer in.
It had originally belonged to her grandma and her parents had inherited it. No one had actually stayed there, till now.
It had been her mom’s idea.
Kerry was going to college in the upcoming fall, a full year after she had graduated high school and had lived with her parents in the interrim.
After she had gotten all of her college ducks lined up in a row, her mom had sprung this on her, her dad reluctantly following the older woman’s lead.
“The university is an entire state away.” Mom had explained. “You need to be able to stand on your own two feet.”
Mom’s solution? Grandma’s old, rather run down cabin. Kerry didn’t have anything against the place. In fact, she loved it. It was cozy and had a small library of books hidden inside, Grandma having shared Kerry’s love of reading.
The only problem was the lack of certain, modern ammenities, such as electricity and running water.
She was sure there was another lesson in there, somewhere, but she was too tired from the drive up to think about what it could be.
Besides, there was a water pump within the vicinity of the cabin and her dad had stocked plenty of candles when he had came up the week before...among other things.
Shaking her head with a fond smile, Kerry closed the cabinet door.
Her dad had always been protective of his only daughter, the youngest of three children and she knew the separation must be killing him.
Maybe it was for the best.
She had started to feel, personally, that she was becoming too reliant on her parents and the thought unerved her.
Kerry knew her parents would always be there if she needed them, but she needed to learn to get along without them. She was an adult and she needed to act like one...even if it scared the crap out of her.
Hands in her pockets, Kerry made here way through the living room, noting the fireplace on the other side of the room and considering possibilities, and finally found herself in the library.
Having no electricity meant no tv, which meant no cable and, consequently, no internet.
Fortunatly, Kerry wasn’t attached at the hip to technology, like most people. There was a public library in a nearby town with internet access, if she needed to check her email.
No, the only thing Kerry couldn’t live without was a really good book and lucky for her, Grandma had kept an amazing library’s worth.
Running the tips of her fingers over the book bindings, Kerry smiled.
If books were doorways to other worlds, she wanted explore them all.
Pausing, Kerry looked closely at the title on the binding of an older looking book. She had taken a year of Spanish and French, respectively, and learned enough to reconize them both and she knew this title was neither.
Pulling it out, she made her way to the back of the room and sat down at the table there. Opening the book, Kerry flipped it to a random page and studied the text.
The letters were reconizable, seeming to be taken from the English alphabet, though the way they were arranged was unlike anything she’d ever seen.
Squinting a bit, Kerry realized it was getting dark out and went back to the kitchen to grab a candle.
The glow illuminated the page as Kerry started sounding out a random passage, using the familiar letters to get an idea of what the unfamiliar words should sound like.
She was planning to major in language arts, with specific study of languages, which has always been an interest of hers.
After an hour, Kerry closed the book and candle in had, look the book back to the room she would be staying in, planning to compare it to some other books later tomorrow.
She had some things to do the next morning, including priming the water pump. She had been drinking bottled water and was anticipating the heaven of fresh spring water.
Slipping out of her jeans, Kerry shivered as she looked around the small room, finally thinking about the fact that she was really on her own and a wave of homesickness washed over her.
Distraction only lasts so long. She thought sardonically, the dark of night creeping in and intesifying the lonliness.
Sighing shakily, Kerry quickly slipped into her pajama pants and traded her sweater for a t-shirt.
Crawling under the covers, Kerry looked around the room once more and blew out the candle, never once noticing the flame reflecting on something outside the window.

Master of seduction, teach me the art of passion and unveil my darkest desires.

Concealed in the darkness outside the cabin, Zadin watched his prey, keen eyes missing nothing.
She was a lovely one, small and thin, with subtle curves and smooth fair skin. Reddish brown curls that barely reached her shoulders framed a delicate face, with blue eyes and soft lips.
Desire coursed through him and Zadin flexed his fingers, anticipated exploring her enticing body.
Even more enticing was the light of her innocence, untouched and casting a bright light around her that only he could see.
His favorite.
Zadin had know many women over the centuries and few that had summoned him had been truly innocent.
Oh, he had enjoyed them all...those eager to learn of their hidden sensuality and those, not so eager as afraid or simply stubborn, who required gentle coaxing. And he could be very patient.
She would be the later, he knew. Zadin could feel a strong will that belied her fragile appearance and he already anticipated her resistance.
It was an ancient bond between a summoned incubi and his summoner; being able to read a woman’s heart made for an easier seduction.
Litte Kerry was separated from her family and while she was seeking independence, she was also scared and lonely.
Delving deeper, he learned she was the youngest of three children and the only girl, protected and cherished by her parents and older brother. Secure in the knowledge that they would come for her if needed, she had a measure of confidence in her ability to live on her own.
Zadin also sensed her love of learning and smiled. It was rare for him to get a chance to see how the world had changed, as he was quite busy with other matters and had never had an opportunity such as this.
Perhaps a deal to be made with his unintentional summoner...
Zadin had been aware of it since he had reached this plane and heard her voice, painstakingly sounding out the words of the summoning chant. Poor enounciation, but recognizable enough to bring him to her.
She was his, until she released him and he wasn’t about to tell her that. Rare as she was, Zadin wasn’t about to squander a chance to seduce such a tender morsel of womanhood.
Let her resist; he would be in her bed every night, teaching her all about pleasure and she would surrender. They all do...sooner or later.
Zadin hoped it would be later, as is the sweetest surrender.
But first, the introduction.
He studied the cabin closely, plans half forming in his mind before he dismissed them. Zadin had to make sure she didn’t run before he got to her and didn’t want her to be forewarned in any way.
Hearing a soft moan from the cabin, he narrowed his eyes, focusing on his summoner’s voice.
“Mom...” She whimpered and he felt a pang of lonliness emanating from her. It was a dream.
“A dream...” Zadin murmered, a solid plan forming as he looked up to the sky and seeing clouds, he scowled.
Flicking his hand, he watched as the clouds dispersed and revealed a full moon.
Perfect. Moonbeams cast an ethereal glow on the cabin as Zadin walked toward it, a wicked smile on his face.
