A Christmas To Remember:
“Why the hell didn't I keep my mouth shut?” Ray asked himself as he tossed his pen aside and gave up trying to finish his work. He got up from his comfy chair and went to close the window. It was snowing outside. He wondered to himself if it was ever going to stop. He went back to his chair and sat down. He really should have kept his mouth shut. If he had just done that, Haruka would not have run away yesterday. Who was he kidding? He had fallen in love with Haruka, just as Haruka had fallen in love with him. He was too afraid of being hurt again to admit his feelings for Haruka. He had fallen in love once a long time ago, only to have that person taken away from him by a drunk driver. He had vowed to never fall in love again, that is until he met Haruka.
Flashback to six years ago:
“How beautiful!” Ray heard a man say from behind him. He was sitting in his favorite spot, sipping hot coffee in his favorite cafe. He turned around and was surprised to find that the man was pretty young and very attractive. He looked to be no more than twenty-two. The young man had smooth black hair and captivating dark brown eyes that reminded him of chocolate. “You are way more beautiful than the snow,” Ray said out loud before he could stop himself. He quickly turned away when he realized that he sounded like a man trying to pick up pretty girls, or in his case, pretty boys.
Ray heard the young man get up. He thought that the young man was leaving, but to his surprise the pretty young man came over to his table, pulled out a chair and sat down across from him.
“My name is Haruka, and thank you for the compliment."
“I'm Ray,” Ray returned the introduction. “You are welcome," he added.
“Do you live around here? I see you here everyday, sitting in the same place, ordering the same coffee,” said Haruka, trying to make conversation with the handsome man.
“No,” replied Ray as he sipped his coffee. “I just like this place. They make the best coffee. Once you get a taste of their coffee, you can't help but come back for more,” he told Haruka with a small smile. It had been three years since he sat down and held a normal conversation with another man that was not related to work.
“I know what you mean. I myself are also a victim of their coffee,” Haruka said with a laugh and Ray joined him.
“If you don't mind me asking, I would like to know where you are from. You don't look like you’re from this planet,” said Haruka.
“No I don't mind at all, I'm from Zathura. I relocated here three years ago after my mate died,” Ray replied.
“Oh I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked. It must have been very painful for you to lose your mate,” Haruka said, feeling guilty for bringing up painful memories that the man wished to forget.
"It was, but I'm slowly learning to cope with it," said Ray with a small, sad smile.
Seeing the sad look in the man’s eyes tugged at Haruka’s heart. He almost regretted coming over to talk to the man. One would never have suspected that this man who wore a frown on his face at all times, would have such painful memories. It must be those memories that caused the man to wear a frown everyday, Haruka thought.
“You know what, I know just the thing to cheer you up,” Haruka said to Ray as he stood up. Before Ray could stop him, he ran out of the café, only to return twenty minutes later with a white box. He sat back down and gave the box to Ray.
“What’s this?” Ray asked in surprise.
Haruka grinned and opened the box to reveal some delicious looking chocolates. “Chocolate. When you are feeling down, they will make your day a lot sweeter,” said Haruka.
Ray had never gotten anything from anybody before, not even from his late mate, and to have this man who he just met run off to get him something, got his heart thumping. Most of the people on this planet avoided him because of his mean frown, but this young man across from him was different.
“Why?” Ray asked Haruka.
“Because you need it, and also it was kind of my fault for causing that sad look in your gorgeous blue eyes.”
“You know most people on your planet wouldn't bother with me,” remarked Ray.
“Well, I'm not like most people here,” Haruka commented. Then he got up to leave.
“Hope to see you here again tomorrow,” Haruka said with hope glimmering in his eyes.
“I'm always here, except when I'm busy with work,” replied Ray with a warm smile for Haruka.
With a bright smile on his face Haruka left the cafe as Ray watched him from the window next to him.
-------
Christmas Eve.
Ray stepped out of the café with Haruka by his side. A snowflake landed on the tip of Haruka’s nose, and Ray quickly brushed it away gently.
“Thank you Ray,” Haruka said with a big smile. Then his eyes caught sight of a beautiful pearl necklace in the window of the store across from the café. It was the pearl necklace he wanted to get his mother for Christmas. He ran over to it in a heartbeat and disappeared inside the jewelry store.
Ray waited patiently outside for Haruka so he could give him a ride home. He looked up when he heard Haruka calling his name. He almost stopped breathing when Haruka came out from the store, eyes shining with joy. As Haruka ran towards him, he felt his heart pounding.
“My mother is going to be very happy when she sees this!” exclaimed Haruka.
“She’s one lucky lady to have a son like you,” Ray remarked, not knowing what else to say.
“Actually it is the opposite. I'm the one who is lucky to have a mother like her. She worked hard to raise me on her own, and this is the least I can do to show her how much I love and appreciate what she has done for me,” said Haruka.
"Are you going to wrap it up? It’s already Christmas Eve,” said Ray.
“Yup," answered Haruka. "Ray, I hope you don't mind, I want her to meet you,” said Haruka.
“I don't mind. In fact, I'm looking forward to meeting her as well,” Ray replied with a smile.
“She is going to like you so much Ray,” Haruka said just as his cell phone rang. He quickly answered it. His face went completely white as soon as he answered the call. It was from the hospital. His cellphone slipped from the palm of his hand and tears began forming in his eyes. He glanced up at Ray unable to say a word.
Twenty minutes later, Ray found himself in a hospital, standing right beside Haruka next to a hospital bed. Lying in the hospital bed was Haruka’s mother. She was robbed and attacked on her way from work. By the time they got her to the hospital, she had passed away. He watched Haruka lean down and put the pearl necklace on his mother.
“Merry Christmas Mother,” Haruka said softly to his dead mother with tears rolling down his cheeks.
Ray walked up to Haruka and comforted him. He knew very well how painful it was to lose someone you loved so suddenly. The two of them left the room with Haruka’s face buried in Ray’s shirt.
End of flashback.
Ray quickly shook the memories away and picked up his pen. Once more he tried to get some work done. There was no time for remembering the past when he had work to be done, he sighed to himself. Then he went back to his work, trying his best to not worry about his lover. An hour later he still had not managed to get any work done. He gave up on work and was standing up to leave his office when his phone rang.
“Hello,” he answered.
“Hello. This is Doctor Itsuki. May I speak to Haruka?”
“I'm afraid not. He is not home at the moment,” Ray replied, wondering why a doctor was calling his house asking for his lover. “Whatever it is you wish to talk to Haruka about, you can tell me and I will make sure to tell him,” he said to the doctor.
“Are you the man he loves?” Doctor Itsuki asked from his end of the line.
“Yes,” Ray replied.
“I'm his brother,” said Doctor Itsuki. “I suggest that you spend as much time as possible with him.”
“His brother? The same brother who refused to come home for his own mother’s funeral? said Ray, not bothering to hide his hatred for the man.
“Yes, the same one,” replied Doctor Itsuki.
“What you said earlier, what do you meant by that?” Ray asked the doctor from his end despite his hatred for the man.
"He came to see me at the hospital, complaining that he wasn't feeling so well. I ran some tests on him and found out that he has cancer.”
Ray grabbed his coat and the keys to his car. He was out the front door of his house in a flash as soon as he hung up. Why the hell didn't Haruka tell him? That idiot! Was that why Haruka decided to tell him last night that he loved him? Because he knew that he might not ever get a chance to say it to him?
Haruka sat on a chair in the busy café, with a cup of coffee in one hand. He watched the falling snow as couples walked right by holding hands, their eyes filled with love for their partner. Those were the couples who would be having a wonderful Christmas together, he thought to himself and sighed. Why did he have to open his mouth yesterday and tell Ray that he loved him? Why couldn't he be satisfied with how their relationship was right now? The answer was simple, he loved Ray and wanted him to know. Haruka let out another sigh just as his cell phone started ringing. He quickly answered it when he saw who was calling.
“Hey Haruka, I thought I should let you know. Your brother called up your place and lied to your lover that you have cancer. He is on his way to find you now,” said his best friend Hiro.
“What?” Haruka shrieked into the phone, just as Ray walked into the cafe. “Hiro, make sure to tell my brother that I am so going to kill him when I see him tomorrow,” he whispered to his friend right before he hung up.
“Haruka!” Ray called out as soon as he spotted his lover in the busy cafe. He had no trouble locating his lover. When he called Haruka’s best friend Hiro, and found out that he wasn't with him, he had known right away that Haruka would be here at this cafe. The same cafe where they had met each other six years ago.
“What are you doing here?” Haruka asked Ray as soon as he reached his table.
Ray felt a sharp pain of guilt. Haruka had been crying all of last night. The evidence of it was still on his face. He felt like the worst bastard in the whole world for making his sweet lover cry. “I wanted to see you,” he replied to Haruka’s question.
“You can leave now that you have seen me,” Haruka said with a hint of sadness in his voice. He knew very well why Ray was here, and it was all his brother’s fault. He turned his head to the side and pretended to watch the falling snow.
“I want to ask you something,” Ray began.
“There is no need. I know what you want to ask me Ray,” said Haruka. “Hiro just called and informed me that my brother told you that I have cancer. It’s not true Ray, there is no need for you to pity me.”
Ray was relieved beyond words that it wasn't true. On his way to the café, he had been so scared. He couldn't stop thinking about how terrible his life would be without Haruka. He just couldn’t picture his life without the man sitting across from him, the man who had given him everything without expecting him to do the same. Ray looked directly into Haruka’s eyes.
“Haruka, your brother made me realize how much you mean to me. When I thought that I was going to lose you forever, I wanted to kill myself for not telling you that I love you and that I wish for you to be with me always.”
Haruka wasn't expecting this. It took him by surprise. He was in shock for a moment. “Does this mean that you love me?” he asked, wanting to make sure that he had heard correctly, and that his ears were not playing tricks on him.
“Haruka, I can't imagine waking up every morning without you lying in my arms. You are very important to me Haruka, to lose you would drive me insane.” Ray finally admitted his true feelings to the man he loved. “A long time ago, right before we decided to be lovers, I told you that I didn't want to fall in love with anyone because I was afraid of feeling the pain of losing the one I love all over again. I was a fool. I love you Haruka.” Ray continued to repeat “I love you” over and over again.
Haruka’s expression lit up. Gone was the sadness in his eyes from earlier. It had been replaced with joy. Haruka felt his inside melt and tears started to form in his eyes. Ray loved him. He was happy and wouldn't wish for anything more. He reached over the table and linked his hand with Ray’s. Then he gazed into his eyes with a smile filled with love for the man sitting before him. “Ray, I knew that I loved you from the first time I met you. I want nothing more than to be by your side always.”
“Really?” Ray asked.
“Yes,” Haruka replied softly. “Only death can separate me from you,” he added.
“Don't say that! I won't let you die!” Ray shouted, drawing attention to the two of them. Haruka grabbed Ray’s arm and led him out of the cafe. They got into Ray’s car.
“Ray, I am not going to die any time soon. In fact I refuse to die now that I know you love me as well. Now let’s go home and have make up sex,” Haruka said with a wicked smile. Ray felt his cock start to get hard, he started the car and drove them both home right away.
Once they were back at home, the two disappeared into their bedroom. In no time at all they were both on the bed naked, with Haruka underneath Ray.
Ray looked down into Haruka’s eyes. “I love you. I love you more than anything else in this world,” he whispered. His eyes glowed with love and lust for the man below him.
“Do you mean it Ray?” asked Haruka, his arms around Ray’s neck.
“I will show you how much I mean it,” Ray said right before he captured Haruka’s mouth. His tongue plunged between Haruka’s lips, tasting his tongue as Haruka tasted him in return. His fingers slid down to wrap around their prey. Haruka’s cock was already hard and ready for him to play with as he liked.
“Yes,” Haruka whispered.
Ray started stroking his lover’s cock, driving his lover crazy with every stroke as he passionately kissed him. He stroked Haruka’s cock hard and fast until Haruka came hard in his hand with a loud moan. He brought the hand that was wet with Haruka’s cum to his lips and licked it with his tongue as Haruka watched him.
“You taste as good as always,” Ray said with a smirk, and Haruka couldn’t help but blush.
Ray let out a chuckle and spread Haruka’s thighs apart. He leaned down and licked Haruka’s tight hole with his talented tongue over and over, getting it wet enough for him. Ray slipped his finger inside the tight hole and wiggled it around, driving Haruka crazy. He heard Haruka pant and moan in pleasure as he slowly loosened him up.
“Oh God, I can't wait anymore! I need you right now, deep inside me. Please Ray!” begged Haruka who could no longer wait to have the man he loved buried deep inside him.
“I need to prepare you properly. I don't want to hurt you,” said Ray.
“No, I don't want to wait! I need you now Ray. I want to feel you inside me this minute!” Haruka demanded.
Ray withdrew his finger from inside Haruka, and positioned himself to enter Haruka’s tight hole. “Ready?” he asked in a whisper and received a quick nod from Haruka. Immediately he pushed in at full force. He buried his cock deep inside Haruka’s hot tight hole with a grunt and began thrusting right away.
Haruka wrapped his legs around Ray and clung on to him tightly as he thrust deeply into him. The pleasure was unbearable, the harder Ray thrust, the louder he moaned in pleasure. “Oh God, I'm going to come!” Haruka panted.
“Come for me my love,” Ray panted as he thrust harder than before.
“Ahhh... I'm coming!” Haruka moaned out loud as he came hard and fast, shooting his cum on his and Ray’s chests. A few seconds later, Ray came as well, shooting his seed deep inside Haruka.
“That was the best make up sex we ever had,” Haruka told Ray after their breathing returned to normal.
Ray laughed, “Haruka, you say that every time we have make up sex!”
“Well it’s the truth,” said Haruka. Then he yawned and rubbed his heavy eyelids.
“Tired?” Ray asked.
“Yes,” answered Haruka. “It’s to be expected---,” he fell asleep before he could finish his sentence, leaving a confused Ray to pounder what he meant.
-----
Christmas Day.
“Merry Christmas,” Ray said as he presented Haruka with his presents.
Haruka smiled with glee and excitement as he accepted his present from Ray. With shaky hands, he slowly unwrapped the small present wrapped in red as Ray watched him. He gasped out in surprise and happiness. His present from Ray was a wedding ring with a small note that said “Marry me”. Tears welled up in his eyes as he looked up at Ray.
“Yes I'll marry you,” Haruka said as he flew into Ray’s arms.
“You are going to marry me and be my mate for life,” said Ray.
“Yes Ray,” replied Haruka as Ray embraced him to his warm chest.
“Ray, I have a present for you as well,” Haruka told Ray when he finally pulled himself away from his embrace. He retrieved a big brown envelope and gave it to Ray.
“What’s in here?” Ray asked as he took the brown envelope from Haruka.
“You remember my brother told you that I went to the hospital because I wasn't feeling well?”
“Yes I remember. How could I forget? It was only yesterday and I doubt that I will ever forget. Your brother gave me quite a scare.”
Haruka couldn’t help but chuckle. “The reason why I wasn't feeling well is in that envelope,” he said.
After hearing that, Ray immediately ripped open the envelope and pulled out the paper that was inside. He read it and his eyes widened in surprise. He tossed the paper aside and lifted Haruka into his arms, twirling around in happiness for receiving the greatest gift of all.
“I guess that you are happy with my present,” said Haruka.
“You have made me the happiest man in the world Haruka. I never expected to be a father!”
Haruka reached up and cupped Ray’s face with the palm of his hands. He pulled Ray down towards him and passionately kissed him.

Christmas three years later.
In a huge house adorned with Christmas decorations and stockings hanging from the chimney, a little boy with black hair and hazel eyes sat between his parents as he opened his third Christmas present. His face was filled with joy and excitement. His parents watched him with love in their eyes.
“Merry Christmas,” Ray said to Haruka.
“Merry Christmas,” Haruka returned with a smile.
