Chapter One: Just Tutor Me!

“What?” A tall boy with long dark hair reaching down to his waist asked without looking up from his book.

“I need someone to tutor me.” A taller boy said looking down at the smaller boy, his own hair a light brown and barely covering his eyes.

“So?” The tall boy said flicking some of his lengthy hair over his shoulder.

“If I don’t pass this next test…” The taller boy started.

“Then find a tutor.” The smaller boy interrupted.

“What do you think…?”

“Find a tutor that cares.” The smaller boy said before standing, grabbing, his belongings, and walking away. He did all this without looking at the taller boy once. The taller boy sighed softly before walking away as well.

(The Next day!)

“What?” A tall young man dressed in the school uniform of black jacket and slacks, a blue tie to indicate his grade, and a blue hair tie pulling his lengthy hair to the side and over his shoulder.

“I need a tutor.” The taller boy said dressed the same except with a red tie, his short hair falling in his eyes a little.

“Then go and find one.”

“You’re the smartest kid in school and I really need to pass this test.”

“I don’t tutor.” The shorter boy said before standing, collecting his belongings, and then walking out of the library.

(The Next day!)

“What?”

“I really need you to tutor me!” The taller boy said angrily. “I’m on the football team, and if I fail this test…!”

“Will it make you go away?” The smaller boy asked.

“Uh…yeah…”
“Then sit down.” The smaller boy said, still not bothering to look up at the jock, his crystal blue eyes scanning the pages of the book in his hands.

“Okay, I’m sitting.” The taller boy said while adjusting his tie.

“What’s the test on?” The smaller boy asked.

“Uh….Before we start can I ask what your name is, my teachers just pointed you out and said you can help me.”

“What’s the test on?”

“English, a Shakespeare poem, and I don’t get his poems.”

“Understand.”

“What?”

“You don’t understand what his poems say, not I don’t get his poems.”

“Oh…sorry.”

“Take out the poem read it three times.”

“Okay.”

“Jealyn.”

“What?”

“My name is Jealyn Storm.”

“Oh.” The taller boy said before smiling. “The name’s Coven Miles.”

(The Next day!)

“I can’t believe I actually passed!” Coven said ask walked up to the table where Jealyn was sitting, in his mind the younger boy looked like a fourteen year old girl. “Thanks for all the help!” Coven said placing a bouquet with two red roses in front of him.

Jealyn blushed deeply before picking up one of the flowers and smiling brightly at the taller boy before standing and packing his belongings. He turned and looking at the taller boy in his jade green eyes.

“You’re welcome.” With that said the smaller boy walked off.

(A Week Later!)

“Hey.” Coven said flicking hair out of his eyes.

“Hey.” Jealyn said without looking up from his book.

“Uh look there this party that I’m throwing at my house and I would like if you came.”

“No thanks, I’m not the party type.”

“All the more a reason to go, you know get to know the rest of the school.” Coven said with a smile. “I’m sure half of the school is going to try and squeeze in my house.”

“No.” Jealyn said before standing, packing his belongings, and walking away; however, before he could get more than three steps a hand grabbed his wrist.

“I’m just trying to be nice; you’re always sitting alone in the school’s library.”

“Perhaps I like sitting alone in school’s library.” Jealyn said softly, “Besides you don’t know anything about me.”

~*~*~*~

That was how everything started, all I really wanted was for the guy to tutor me and then after that we wouldn’t talk. I don’t even know what possessed me to invite the guy to a party where the cool guys and girls from school would be attending. My best bud even asked if me if I was feeling well, the guy was the school loner, and if we didn’t have to wear uniforms I’m sure he’d dress like a loner. Not that I care about the way that he dresses and if you’re wondering I am not obsessing over this guy. I mean c’mon, I’m the star quarterback; I don’t obsess over other guys, not even ones that look like hot chicks. Uh...wait! Scratch the hot part! He’s not hot, he’s just a guy that looks too much like a girl, hot does not belong in that sentence. I don’t like him like that and before you ask, yes I’m watching him right now; although, I have every right to at the moment.

I bet you’re wondering, why does he have the right to look at the hot guy that’s sits next to me in AP English class? Well if you would just sit still and let me explain then perhaps we’ll be able to get somewhere. Okay, well you already know how the two of us met and right now the two of us a trapped inside some stupid cell with nothing to do but look each other in the face.

After I invited him to my party, school was pretty normal, except for the fact that I could get his rejection out of my head. Over and over again I would hear the same words; I didn’t even hear what the teacher was talking about. Anyway, the rest of the week was pretty normal and on Friday, the day of my party, I went to the library and found him sitting in the same spot. He didn’t bother to look at me, like always, how can you hope to have a conversation with someone that will not even look at you!

“Jealyn, I want you to go to my party!” I practically demanded.

He nearly jumped from his seat and turned wide crystal blue eyes towards me, the look that he gave me, I had to turn away so he wouldn’t see me blushing. What’s up with him, I swear did he come from another planet or something.

“Who are you?” He asked softly, still giving that look.

“What do you mean?” I asked still trying not to look at him. “You tutored me just last week! I gave you a rose, well technically two, but you only took one. I even invited you to my house party!”

“Oh.”

“Oh? Is that all you can say?” I nearly shouted. I was hurt. How could he just forget me like that, I’m the star quarterback for gods sakes!

“Yes.” Jealyn said before doing his usual and walking away. I was really getting sick of this, and how could he not remember me?

“My name’s Coven Miles.” I said before he turned the corner of a book shelf.

“Coven Miles, he needed help with a Shakespeare poem.” Jealyn said as he stopped, but didn’t bother to turn around. “He gave me a flower.” Now he was looking shyly up at the library’s dingy ceiling. “Could you tell him thank you for me? I really liked the flower and…”

“Are you slow or something?” I shouted only to hear a few shushes from all over. “I just told you that my name is Coven Miles!”

“Did you?” He said, and had the nerve to look shocked. “I must have forgotten. I do that a lot lately.” He said before turning around again and started to walk away then stopped mid step and looked back at me again. “Would you like some tea?”

“If only you promise not to forget me again.” I said looking off the side, this kids is strange.

“I’ll try.”

Well that day I can truly say that you learn something new everyday, and what I learned was that Jealyn was loaded. His family is richer than mine, in fact the people that my parents were going to conference with in London was the head of his family. His grandfather, the man practically ruled the world without acting like someone that had a lot of power. How did I find this out you ask, well when we left school for our tea, we were greeted by a stretch limo. The driver knew who Jealyn; although it took a moment for Jealyn to remember who the driver was.

“Not again Jay, I had hoped it would happen this month.” The driver said as he opened the car door. “Your uncle is waiting for you.”

“Thank you Madlock, this is a friend of mine and I’m taking him to get tea.”

“Ah, I’m sure that he will enjoy your special brew.”

Jealyn only nodded before we climbed into the car and made out way to what looked like a castle. As we got out I noticed a man waiting at the door with his arms crossed, he didn’t look angry just concerned. Jealyn walked up to him and bowed, giving the man a cheerful greeting before continuing into the house. I followed closely behind him only to be grabbed on the arm by the man; he’s about the same height as me and looks like an older version of Jealyn.

“If he forgets you while you are here, you should just excuse yourself and leave.” The man said in a very calm voice.

“Why would I want to do that?” I asked the man standing next to me, his length hair a lot shorter than Jealyn tickling my neck as the wind blows.

“He has fleeting memory loss; we never know when he’ll be his old self or his childlike self.”

“Which version is he now?”

“In between.” He simply said before walking down the pathway and to the limo.

I made my way inside and a maid happily guided me to the kitchen where Jealyn had wrapped an apron around his waist. He turned to look at me with a cake knife in his hand, white frosting covering the lower half. He smiled cheerfully before putting the knife down and replacing it with two plates both fill with the best looking strawberry cake I’ve ever seen.

“The maids helped me set up the table, so let’s have some tea!” Jealyn said with a bid smile, and for a moment he looked like the perfect wife that my parents would love. Except the fact that he wasn’t a woman, and that’s something I don’t think that they would love. I sighed before sitting at the table; I looked up when Jealyn placed the cake in front of me. He sat down a across from me, without the apron, and smiled at me like he knew something that I did not.

“You know Coven,” he started. “I’ve been wondering about a few things.”

“Such as?” I asked looking up from my cake.

“Why you’ve taken a sudden interest in me.” When he said that he sounded the way he did when I first met him, like the childishness was slowing draining away only to be replaced with its older smarter self.

“I haven’t.” I said coolly, no need in letting him know that I can’t get my brain to think of anyone else.

“I think you have.” Yep, he’s defiantly changing back to his old self.

I half expected his to give some smart ass comment after that, but no, instead I feel his lips suddenly pressed against mine. I opened my eyes to see that he crawled onto the table to do this, and at this moment my mind was telling me to push him away, but my arms wouldn’t move! Dammit! I’m not supposed to like this!

“That’s enough Jealyn!” A strict voice startled the both of us causing him to end up falling into my lap, and both of us crashing ungracefully to the floor. I looked up from under Jealyn’s foot to see the man from before looking down at us with disgust written all over his face. “I think it’s time that you left.” The man said directing his attention towards me.

“Yes sir!” I said standing as quickly as I could while helping Jealyn to his feet as well and I ran out of their castle. You could say that my party later that night was not as eventful as a half hour in the Storm house had been.

Hello again, now if you reached all the way down here your probably wondering when the next chappy will be up. I have no idea...Uh, yeah. Anyway I hope like my first chapter and the nice cliff hanger that I gave you.
