White Houses

AN: Um, the title comes from the song, ‘White Houses’ by Vanessa Carlton and that’s because this is a small part of a larger story I started writing which is loosely based on that song. Except, I got bored of writing it and just wanted them to get together already, so I wrote the love scene instead. Its basically the story of Anjuli’s first time.

White Houses

Garrison’s sleek, midnight black sports car turned from the highway to a small canyon road. I’d rolled my window down in the summer heat in order to feel the cool breeze. It whipped through my hair, chilly upon skin that was damp with glistening sweat. My eyes were closed as Garrison wound our way along the narrow path and every turn, every shift of the wheel I felt press through my body.

The stereo was playing ‘La vie en rose’: our guilty pleasure as we had discovered one of those private nights spent alone in the den. It had played many times since. Our song. Not what I had imagined my true love theme to be before I met Garrison. But then, I hadn’t really known love. Back then I was still dreaming of Brian’s motorcycle and thinking love was the little tingle I felt whenever he let me ride with him. Tingles weren’t aches and didn’t leave me dizzy after Brian was gone.

“You’re not asleep are you?”

“Nope.” I spied him with one eye open. “Are we going anywhere special?”

“Just driving. I haven’t been down these old roads for years.”

He cast me a quick glance then darted back to the road but as for myself I now had both eyes on him. Garrison’s sandy colored hair was lifting in all directions from the wind and he was wearing dark sunglasses that hid his crisp blue eyes but lent a youthful air to his demeanor. He was a fit man, with a broad chest and well filled biceps which I had the pleasure of ogling whenever he decided to join us at the lake. If it wasn’t for the sprinkling of gray at his temples he could have easily passed for thirty.

He must have sensed my scrutiny because he suddenly turned with a curious smile. “What?”

The corners of my mouth slid into a sly, teasing grin. “You got a little something,” I lied, suddenly leaning forward. “Right here.”

Oh so slowly I ran my thumb across his bottom lip, wiping at nothing in the corner and was pleased to see Garrison’s breath catch.

“Got it?” He managed after clearing his throat.

“Oh yeah.”

The sunglasses were far too dark for me to decipher his gaze but I had a feeling he was watching me from the corner of his eye. His long fingers tensed around the wheel and I chuckled turning around again, leaning my elbow on the open window and feeling the crash of the wind against my cheeks.

Yesterday there was no breeze. Not even the canyon current was stirring when the mercury topped out at 102. The air was stiff, the summer heat burning our lungs, the trap of stale air suffocating everything and everyone to a slow, inebriated slump. But then evening fell and the leaves outside January’s window stirred. A fresh sweep of cool wind danced through the dandelions laced in my shadowed hair. There was a soft kiss on my forehead and a finger stroking my cheek, lifting my chin…

I flitted my gaze toward the man in the driver’s seat. He didn’t seem to be paying much attention to his passenger. We were speeding through the aspen grove now so that sunlight freckled his arms. It leapt about the car like sprinkling rain water, touching everything in drops before melting to shadow again as the car drove through the trees.

I hadn’t been aware I was humming until a smile spread his mouth.

“This is la vie en rose…” his tenor voice sang quietly along with me, though he hadn’t glanced in my direction. The grin tugged at my lips and for a second I forgot myself and sat only watching the wind sift through Garrison’s hair. After a moment he turned his smile to me. “You stopped.”

“Stopped what?”

“Hmm hmmm hmm hmmmmm…” he hummed the tune.

I giggled and pulled my feet up on the seat. Garrison was laughing with me, his reserve breaking as it eventually always did. I reveled in the sight of his white toothed smile. He’d been hiding it from me most of the morning, tucking it behind the nervous, rigid line of his lips. But now it was mine.

Twisting around, I stretched my legs out so that they rested innocently in his lap. My feet were bare except for the toe ring January let me borrow the week before. It was silver with turquoise hearts embedded into the metal. Garrison glanced down and then over to me.

“Do you want me to get in an accident?”

“Do you want my legs to cramp?” I pointed and wiggled my toes.

Garrison’s large hand wrapped my ankle. “Anjuli…”

“What? I’m not bothering you am I?”

This time I knew his eyes were watching me because of the way his mouth dipped into a half smile when I grinned. He didn’t answer though, and he didn’t move his hand. His thumb stroked absentmindedly around the bone of my naked ankle while he steered the car with his other hand.

This position was certainly more comfortable. It allowed me to admire him openly for a time before the motion of the car and the summer heat lulled me again. Soon my cheek was resting against the headrest, my eyes closed. I was feeling the shift of the car and imagining all that surrounded us when I felt Garrison’s hand slide up my bare calf.

My eyes opened lazily. “Did you decide where you’re going?”

“Up behind Sundance.”

“Not to Sundance?”

“This place is prettier.” His hand continued its soft stroking down my leg. When he reached my toes again, he twisted the thin toe ring once between his fingers. “Where did you get this?”

“Do you like it? I think its kind of sexy, myself.”

He caught his smile before it could give too much away, but I already knew what he was thinking. If he hadn’t been wearing those dark lenses I’d have seen it in his eyes as they trailed up my legs. Wickedly, I might have been a little too excited to explain where I’d gotten the toe ring.

“Its January’s actually. She let me borrow it last week when we were doing pedicures.”

“It is?” He sounded surprised and his fingers stopped playing with the jewelry.

“What, you don’t like it now?” I smirked, then tucked my thumb into the rim of my low rise shorts by the zipper. “You know these are hers too.”

He nervously cleared his throat and wouldn’t look in my direction. “Cut it out, you.”

“Oh, come on Garrison. Just because you like them on me doesn’t mean you might secretly have a thing for January.”

“What?!” his mouth coiled in disgust.

I laughed.

“You are one twisted little girl, Juli.”

“Ha! Look who’s talking about twisted.” I thought I might have gone too far with that comment because his back stiffened and that little curl of his lips warped into a self depricating scowl. Both his hands were white knuckling the steering wheel again.

“Hey.” I nudged him with my foot but he pushed it away.

“I really am going to get in an accident if you kick me like that.” He said in a distant voice.

I kicked him again and when he didn’t react I pushed him harder in the thigh until finally he grabbed my ankle again to hold it steady at his side.

“Do you want me to pull this car over young lady?” He mocked in that authoritative voice I’d sometimes heard him use on January. The sound of it only made me laugh more, not to mention his fingers tickling my feet while I tried to pull them away.

“Ah! Garrison stop!” I wiggled.

“That’s Mr. Jackman to you.”

“*Mr. Jackman* stop, bastard!” I yelled and whipped my leg out of his hands.

A moment later we’d pulled into a gravel parking lot under the shade of a large aspen. Garrison parked the car and let the engine die.

“And you’re lecturing me about accidents.” I whispered, rubbing the tickle from my feet.

“I warned you it could be dangerous.”

“I thought you could keep your hands to yourself.” I countered, then looked around the car. “Is this it?”

The sea of aspens we’d been driving through tapered off to reveal a wide valley flanked by the Wasatch Mountains. In summer, it was a bluster of green with families of wild flowers spotting the grassy field in yellows, reds and lilac blues. The valley sloped the further it ventured away from where we parked and at the farthest edge you could see the city peeking below in the distance.

“I didn’t know this was up here.”

“Not many people do. God, its been a while.” He slid the dark glasses up into his hair to look upon the valley with naked aqua eyes. Garrison sank into his seat and sighed.

“How long has it been?”

“I was few years older than you.”

“It *has* been a while.” I giggled.

He cast a chiding glare and without the glasses I was getting the full force of his piercing peepers. They zeroed in on me sharply and my heart beat skipped like the first time I saw him walking through January’s house. I bit my lip, carried away three months ago. His hair was a little longer around the ears now, his chin rough with stubble. Back then he had looked so neatly packaged, unlike this lazy Sunday. I remembered his suit had been iron straight as he stood in the hall with his brief case in hand and his head cocked wondering who the hell this girl was wandering around his house singing Simon and Garfunkel. He’d startled me because his glower was frightening and beautifully sexy all at once.

“What is it?” He asked in a throaty whisper, looking at the way I chewed my bottom lip.

“Sorry. Just distracted by the view.” I smirked and lifted an eyebrow.

I followed his gaze down my body, skipping over the thin straps of my blue tank, stopping at the all the familiar places until he finally pulled his eyes back to mine. “You want to get out?”

The throaty scratch hadn’t left his voice. I’d heard it before at times like these, when it was just the two of us and the air drew thin between our bodies and the world was silent except for our slow, steady breathing.

My toes curled on his leather seats. “You didn’t tell me I’d need shoes.” I said in a simpering voice.

“What happened to your flip flops?”

“They’re underneath January’s bed with my night shirt.”

I’d quickly moved to a sitting position on my knees, hunched forward without my seatbelt now that the car had stopped. Garrison's eyes darted down again to the neckline of my tank top but I didn’t bother adjusting it. He'd suddenly grown very still as I slowly inched closer with my hands on my knees, bottom lip between my teeth, until we were a breath apart. Garrison's mouth opened, as if he was about to speak but no words came.

"I don't feel much like getting out anyway." I whispered between a smile.

Gently, I placed a soft kiss, much like the one he’d given me last night, on his lips. Unlike our chaste peck in the moonlight beneath January’s darkened window, this kiss quickly deepened. Tongues interwined, breaths mingled, limbs fumbled for limbs. I reached his seatbelt before he could and soon Garrison was fully turned into me, kissing me with the force of three months of staying chaste to the law.

“Anjuli…” he suddenly pulled away, cupping my cheeks in his hands and focusing those sharp blue eyes on me. “Stop.”

“Why? No one’s gonna see. No one’ll know.”

I reached for his mouth again but he held me at bay.

“Its enough that I’ll know. I can’t do this.” But his voice was so quiet, so reluctant to believe the words he’d said. He wasn’t looking at me anymore as though if he did he might relent and I knew it was now or never.

This time when we kissed his arms didn’t push at my shoulders, they slid around my body until Garrison had pulled me flush against his chest. We fell back into the seats.

His hands raced down my hips in a fluid movement that reminded me of our midnight swim at the lake, the first time he ever touched me, though he was timid about where his fingers lingered. I laughed into his mouth, remembering it. The only reason he’d braved those touches was the cover of water but I’d known what he was up to. Awkwardly nestled against me, Garrison pulled away at my giggles.

“What is it?”

I nipped his bottom lip. “You. Make. Me…Very happy.” I said between kisses. The last two words sort of melted into him but I knew he understood. That or he just didn’t care. His soft mouth was moving down my throat in long strokes. I threaded my fingers through his sandy hair until he his tongue traced the shape of my ear and he sucked at the lobe.

With that little gesture I threw Garrison from me, followed by a playful kiss to soften his shock at being pushed away before I climbed into the back seat. He watched, breath bated from lust but didn’t move to follow.

“Garrison,” I whispered. My voice fell silent, dependant upon my hooked finger to make the message clear as I motioned for him to join me. But he didn’t move.

“Shit, Anjuli.” Garrison sighed. He nervously ran his fingers through his hair.

“*Garrison*…” I called again, this time running my finger up my stomach and slowly bringing the bottom of my small tank top up with it.

He moved, albeit slowly and while he pushed into the back seat with me he was murmuring, more to himself than to me. “You’re January’s best friend…my *daughter’s* best friend.”

“But I’m not *your daughter*. You’ve got to get over this Garrison.” I practically moaned when he reached me, guiding his hands beneath my tank top and over my small breasts. He cupped and kneaded them into his palms before kissing me again, this time with more fervor.

When I imagined us together, I never really pictured making out in the back seat of his car. In my mind, it always started in the house while January was away, eventually moving to his bedroom. Things always ended up in his master bedroom when I let my mind wander. I’d be thrown upon the pillows and he’d make love to me there on the bed where he hadn’t brought another woman since Mrs. Jackman died so many years ago. He’d be my first and I’d be his.

But at the moment, nothing felt better than the here and now.

I pushed his shirt up his chest and Garrison broke apart long enough to pull it over his head. He had made fast work of January’s denim shorts too. The zipper was long down and now the two of us were concentrating on pulling them from my hips as soon as possible. It wasn’t easy to do with Garrison kissing down my stomach. Each caress left me limp. If the sun beating from outside wasn’t hot enough, I was sweating under Garrison’s fervent kisses. He managed the job himself though and the shorts were tossed into the front seat with his shirt.

I was lying beneath him while he hovered between my legs, all thought of impropriety gone. His fingers slipped beneath my pale pink panties and for the first time I felt a man’s fingers stroke my clit.

“Ahhh…” I gasped, not realizing how sensitively firm it already was. He seemed rather pleased with himself. He threw me that lopsided smile I loved so much and stroked me again much to my delight. My hips threw up into his fingers automatically as a pleasant wave of tingles raced my body.

I knew where I wanted this to go and apparently Garrison felt the same judging by the pressure against my leg. I pulled myself upright to meet him in a deep, heated kiss and while doing so I reached for the button of his pants. Garrison didn’t make a protest. In fact, when it was obvious I was having trouble he pushed my hands aside and unzipped them himself. A moment later I felt my hand being drawn into his pants and wrapped my fingers tight around the firm flesh I found there. I traced his length all the way to the tip.

“Oh God…” He gasped into my mouth and with that I was on my back again.

Garrison nibbled down my chest. I was still wearing the tank top but it had been pushed up over my peaked breasts. His teeth gently bit at a nipple which caused me to moan rather loudly. That, and the fact that Garrison’s hand was still down my panties, his fingers quickly sliding over the tight pleasure bud there and slipping into the crevice of my vagina.

My friend's father was absolutely hard, a fact I knew not only by sight but by touch as I continued to stroke him, delighting in the way his mouth shuddered gasps onto my skin. His body hovered close above mine and together we rocked, mimicking the motion we were about to take full force.

I moaned as he pressed his fingers against my clit again. “Ohh…Garrison-” I started between kisses while he swallowed at my ear lobe and nearly causing me to sigh.

“Juli…” His voice was distant, the scratchy whisper taking over his vocal cords completely.

“You should know this…” My mouth closed around his throat, “this is my first time.”

Garrison's lips suddenly stopped and he pulled up from me, out of breath. He looked at me rather amazed a moment before sitting up completely and running his hand through his hair. “I didn’t know. I’m sorry, I’ll…I’ll take it slower. We can stop.”

“What?” I asked, still dazed that he was so far away from me. Why was he so far away? “Garrison…”

“No, you don’t have to do anything you’re not ready for. We’ll wait. I’ll wait.”

“Garrison.” I practically groaned. “I want you. Now. I’m totally and completely ready for where ever this goes. I just didn’t want to…well, ruin the upholstery. I mean, I know how you are about your car and I-“

“Fuck the upholstery.” He spat with an anxious smile and the next thing I knew his lips were on mine and he was pulling off my panties.

Now I was completely naked for him and throbbing as I waited for him to enter me with a glazed, endorphin high expression. He kissed my lips again before lowering his pants. Our chests were rising excitedly in succession with each other's. Garrison carefully pushed my leg up until my ankle rested over the back dashboard, my other foot resting on the floor. No need to beg or plead. With a silent thrust he pushed into me and I was broken and bleeding beneath him, a picture of ecstasy.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt and I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy it. He filled me until I was able to move with him. I felt the first real thrust pump into my maiden passage with a frenzied shudder shortly followed by another until Garrison was moving into me at a steady rate. I felt as though I couldn’t breath. My legs came together to wrap around his waist as the paced increased, rocking not only our entangled bodies but the entire car with our lovemaking. Garrison bent his head toward me so that his tongue could delve my mouth the way his cock was occupying the other hot hallows of my body.

“Juli…finally…”

At one point I looked out the window and saw the world rocking in rhythm to the heaven that pumped between my legs. Garrison’s lips on my breast, his hands tangled in my hair. The branches of aspen hanging above the window sparkled sunlight into my eyes. He was slamming into me now with no restraint as I whimpered, knowing what was about to come.

I met Garrison’s aqua eyes before a firm thrust knocked my hips and finally pushed me over the edge I’d only been inches from. Suddenly the light between the leaves turned a brilliant white. The grip I’d taken of his shoulders tightened so that my fingers dug into his back and my mouth gaped in a long, glorious moan. It was shattering, this feeling that there was nothing in this world but what Garrison had done to me. The ecstatic shudders raced through my limbs as I clutched, hoping that it would never end but not knowing how much more I could take.

He came in a rush as my orgasm was subsiding. Garrison’s body stiffened and he choked into my hair. His hot liquid seeped from between us as we finally collapsed into a heap of exhaustion. Passion crazed lips now offered only light and delicate butterfly kisses.

It was sometime later when I was conscious of the trickle of sweat cascading down my neck. I stirred and Garrison’s head lifted to rest on my chest.

“Do you know what I just did?” he asked with lazy eyes.

“Garrison,” I sighed, “All you do is worry...”

He chuckled and slid up my moist body, kissing me as he went.

“I just made love to you,” Garrison’s finger stroked back the wet strands of my hair as he watched me, his eyes soft in a way I’d never seen them before. “and it’s been so long since sex was love.” He whispered in a hazed awe.

I smiled and suddenly that earth-shattering feeling I’d known only a few minutes ago was nothing to the intense inner warmth that spread through me as I looked at Garrison.

“I love you too.” I whispered and pulled his mouth against mine.
