The Demon Hunter Diary
(Disclaimer: The following material is all original. The name of the first Act, Phantom Overture, was used by a friend of mine on this site, his story called The House Wars. Let it be known that I created that name, and let him use it. Upon his recent decision to stop writing the series, I am taking it back.)
**The Demon Hunter Diary**
*Act 1*
*Scene 0: Prologue*
**Prologue**
Centuries ago....
Augustine, a traveling slayer for hire, is known throughout the land of Lethia as being one of the best. His policy is simple: "Fifty coins for every corpse. No women, no kids." Though he is a mercenary, he specializes in dispatching the creatures of the night. One night, a respected merchant city is attacked by such a creature, and Augustine is called upon by it's leader, Mayor Fernson.
**Cast of Primary Characters**
Augustine - A skilled demon hunter, aged 31. He is a traveling nomad with no place to call home, so he ventures from town to town, lending his services to whomever has the cash. Normally, he is driven by his greed, seldomly knowing the word honor. He does however, keep a detailed record of his travels in a diary that goes everywhere he does.
Patricia - Daughter of Mayor Fernson, aged 19. She is a pampered, spoiled girl, who is always kept away from other "commoners" by her overprotective father. She is rarely allowed to interact with others, making her extremely eager to get out and see the world.
Malneras - Lord of the land of Zhon, aged 48. He is a brutal, angry soul, with a short temper. His iron fisted rule has lasted over his land for two decades, the country thriving under him. His only goal in life is to conquer, and make his kingdom the greatest force in the world.
Orion - Mayor Fernson's head of security, aged 26. He is a skilled swordsman who has been the bodyguard of Patricia since they were young. He harbors great feelings for her, though he knows she does not reurn them.
Raeleen - Best friend of Patricia, aged 18. She has known Patricia all her life, and is one of the very few people who is allowed to see her. Deep down however, Raeleen keeps the secret of having feelings for Patricia, but is too nervous to admit to such a thing as homosexuality.
Groga - A prize fighter turned town drunk, aged 43. Once one of the greatest prize fighters in the city arena, Groga's name was known everywhere. He defeated even the fiercest of beasts in his prime, but after suffering a loss to sorcerer named Kor' Toran, he became a drunkard, not wanting to look back on his shameful defeat.
