Not Quite Sadism

"Are you positive this isn't going to kill or maim me?" Joss asked, tied spread eagle on the bed with the other man hunched over him, marking symbols on his body and chanting random verses from the bible in Hebrew.

The atmosphere, if Joss hadn't been aware of what Gabriel meant to do, would have even been warm, inviting... maybe even a little romantic. There were several candles lit around the bed, and rose petals sprinkled over the sheets. Joss didn't remember what any of the candles were for exactly, but he assumed they were for keeping away evil spirits -- Gabriel had always had something of an obsession with keeping away evil spirits. The first time the two men had met in person, Gabriel had doused Joss with holy water and nearly strangled him getting a cross around his neck.

It had been quite the eventful first date.

The cloth around his wrists was the silky kind used in all those soft-core bondage flicks one could catch on late at night. Each time he tried to pull back from the marker again his skin, they held him still, rubbing comfortably -- as though mocking him -- against his wrists.

"If you want our relationship to work," Gabriel said resting his hands on Joss' chest while leaning down for a kiss. "I need you to respect my religion and trust me." Sitting up on his knees, just beside Joss on the bed so that their skin touched and rubbed almost as annoyingly as the cloth on his wrists, he dipped a ceremonial knife into a bowl of holy water nearby.

"That's kind of hard to do right now..." Joss grumbled. He didn't know what alarmed him more: the fact that there was a knife maybe three inches from his stomach or that Gabriel had verses from the bible memorized. In Hebrew.

Gabriel touched Joss' stomach, spreading holy water over it; then, he laid the knife on it. "Well, you have to trust me."

Joss supposed that this was just what he got for going into the 20s Christian Singles chatrooom. Sure, he wasn't exactly Christian -- well, at least last time he checked -- but he assumed that advertising himself as a younger, almost juvenile person in need of spiritual guidance would attract some sort of attention from a priest.

And, now, here they were. Two days into their relationship (which had been established over the phone through a series of moans and "Gosh! I wish you were in me!"s after Gabriel had found out Joss wasn’t 14) and already Gabriel assumed that Joss had been possessed by some evil spirit of evil.

"Gabriel!" Joss said struggling to pull his stomach and more important areas away from the man. "Fuck! What the hell are you putting in me?" Joss demanded, trying to lift his head to see. That smell couldn't be good.

"It's crushed rosemary mixed with a little strawberry lubricant. Be still."

"Why are you putting rosemary in me?"

"To ward off demons, witches – well, warlocks -- and fairies so they can't plant their dark seed in you."

Reaching over, the priest picked up one of the plain, unscented candles he had been burning and examined the top to see how much wax had melted inside it. Joss leaned back, relaxing now that a knife wasn't threatening to be jabbed in his stomach or some sort of protection item, such as a cross, shoved in areas they were never meant to go.

"As you probably know,” Gabriel said, “during demonic possession the spirit possessing the body has to go through repeated pain so that it finds the victim's body unworthy of its initial goal... That knife, because it's covered in holy water, should send the demon into a frenzy eventually..."

He tossed the wax on Joss' chest, making the man howl and thrash on the bed as though some spirit had, in fact, possessed him. "See! These candles are blessed!" Gabriel said. "It's proof of possession!"

"But I—“ Am a demon, he wanted to say.

"You're possessed!"

Gabriel groped around the back of his neck for the hook to the gold cross he wore around it. It was the only thing he wore unlike Joss, who had a number of rings and bracelets with what Gabriel liked to refer to as “devil markings” all over them.

This was attached to Joss' member before Gabriel straddled the man, untied him, and flipped him over. Joss squealed again. "For some for some reason, I don't think this is the -- shit! Stop with the wax! -- proper way to -- goddammit! -- perform an exorcism."

Gabriel rolled his eyes in response, dipping his finger in a small bowl of oil and then pressing it against Joss' opening. "It's the same principle," he explained, pushing it in. Two other digits that stretched and prodded the small space soon accompanied it until it was pliant enough that Gabriel could slide an unlit candle into it.

"The hell are you putting in me?" Joss was just thankful it wasn't large and rectangular at the edges with what might have been arms jotting out from each side… or that it had a sharp blade like the thing on his stomach.

“Shh. It’ll all be over soon…”

Gabriel tipped over and jerked the candle he held in his hand, making the wax spray out over the other man's back. Joss responded with another howl before struggling anew to get away from the priest whose mind had taken a short trip from reality.

“Joss. You’re making this difficult.”

“Gabriel. You’re pouring hot wax on me.”

Gabriel sighed, stroking the other’s hair until he had calmed down. “I have to do this…”

Joss groaned, but eventually he went still and decided to let the other man do what he wished… at least until a cross or statue of Jesus as big as the life-sized figure was shoved up his backside. “You are so not… we’re… Gabriel…”

The priest flipped Joss back over and re-attached the cross before leaning down to kiss the tip of the other man’s recently hardened member. “Someone’s a masochist… Shh. I know. It hurts, but it’s almost over.” He emphasized this by crawling up beside the other man and stroking back his hair just before tightening the silk around the other’s wrists again. “Just a little more. You’re back to your senses, at least. The knife will hurt the spirit inside you…” He cupped a handful of holy water then poured it on the other man’s stomach. “After we finish, we’ll know it’s gone completely if you don’t mention hating God or whatever it was.”

He turned the other man’s face towards his to kiss his lips. “Thank you for letting me perform an exorcism.”

“Before I knew you were going to shove a candle and rosemary up my ass.”

“All right…” he mumbled. “Last part. Let me tie down your legs.”

“Do I have a choice?” Joss asked, sighing and spreading his legs for the other once he was turned over again. After all, it would probably be best to get it all over with. Gabriel kissed one of the other’s butt cheeks with a smile and adjusted the candle protruding out of the man. Then lit it.

Joss wasn’t terribly concerned at first. After all, there were a lot of candles around. The other man probably wanted to replace the one that had just been put out… or re-light it, even, if it wasn’t tainted. However, when he felt a familiar heat against his backside, he made a sound of protest and began to struggle anew. This time, however, he was stuck. There would be no getting up from here.

“Here, Joss, I need you to bite down on this sock while I do this.”

“Mmphhhf!”

“What’s that?” Gabriel asked pulling the sock out so that the other could speak.

“Why is it wet?”

“It has holy water on it. You won’t drown in it though. Now, be quiet. This will all be over soon.”

Gabriel straddled the other man’s back and flicked the lighter. “GABRIEL! NO!” Then, the candle was lit so that the wax dripped and pooled at the top of the candle. Holding the man’s bottom down, he pressed the light’s flame closer to the man’s skin until it began to lick at it. Eventually, a line had formed. He pulled it up once it had and blowed on it, pulling a whimper from the man under him, who was struggling to hold on to the last of his dignity. This, of course, wasn’t possible when one had a candle jotting up from their ass and a cross wrapped around his dick.

“Gabriel, what the hel—“ Another shriek of pain erupted from the pillows when the lighter was on the man’s skin again, turning the line into a perfect cross.

“There… that’ll make sure that spirit stays out after it’s gone…” he muttered dipping a cloth into the holy water and letting the water drip on it. It was at this opportune moment, when Joss was convinced he would die from the pain, that the candle wax began to drip down. It immediately harden on the man’s entrance after the initial burn and the jerking only helped to make it drip down faster. “FUCK.”

Gabriel held the other down. “You’re going to set the bed sheets on fire if you don’t be still.”

Joss sighed around the gag. Gabriel turned around to pet the other’s hair and kiss the man. “Joss… almost done.” He checked the clock on the table next to him. “Just one more minute.” Joss cried out again as the wax dripped down.

“Remember when we first met?” Gabriel asked softly. “I was expecting this little boy in need of guidance that had turned to the life of sin… and then—“

“’op!” He spat out the sock. “Just stop, for God--Gosh’s sake. I have to tell you something.”

It was curiosity that made Gabriel pause and snuff the candle before crawling forward to lay down beside the other. “…What is it?”

“…Well.” There had to be some way of telling Gabriel that he wasn’t exactly… normal without being checked into a mental institution after he no longer had any skin around his more intimate areas.

“I’m not exactly possessed by an evil spirit, you see…” he said giving the other man an apologetic look. “I—“

“That’s what everyone who’s possessed says, Joss. This is perfectly normal.” Or as normal as a situation could get when a person’s boyfriend was shoving candles up his ass.

“No! Let me finish,” Joss interrupted. “If I don’t, we’re going to be doing this every weekend. I’m not possessed by an evil spirit because I am an evil spirit… Well, not evil… but not what you might consider… well, good.” Gabriel wore the look of a mother who was trying to give her child all the patience in the world while it explained that a dinosaur had eaten the last brownie. “It doesn’t mean I follow the beliefs… it’s just my job. I’m human, I swear. I just have these demon … defeats?”

“…Like?”

“Wings, horns, and…”

“And?”

“A tail… feeding off sex… a contract to give my service to Lucifer in exchange for my immortality. Just little things like that!”

“You sold your soul to the devil?”

“He’s not such a bad guy once you get to know him!” Joss assured the other. “If there were no obstacles for people to overcome, there would be no real trial to get into heaven… right?”

“…So the holy water isn’t going to work on you?”

“…Not really. It would go against the contract… So I guess this means our relationship is over?” Joss asked attempting to get up.

“I… I don’t know?” The priest briefly considered the other man before pushing him back down on the bed. “Be still. Let me get off the wax unless you want it lost inside of you.”

Joss picked up the wet sock with his teeth and threw it over the side of the bed before burying his face in the pillows. “Gabriel, I’m sorry, you know…”

“Well, that doesn’t exactly help, you know.”

“I know, but I am… I know we’ve only been in a relationship for a few days, but I think we can work things out, don’t you?” That and he could avoid having the dagger lying on his stomach jabbed through him. He might not be able to die, but that didn’t make it any less painful.

“Spread your legs.”

Joss did, grimacing as the candle was pulled out and the remainder of wax peeled off with it.

Gabriel sat down beside Joss’ shoulder on the bed while he untied the other’s wrist. “Well, it was nice before you were possessed.”

“I was trying to hint to you that I was a demon! How was I supposed to know how you’d take it?”

Once Joss’ hands were free, he rubbed at his wrists before leaning forward and kissing the side of Gabriel’s mouth. “Would it make you feel any better if I came to church services with you?”

“A little.”

“And if I took you along with me when I work so you could see what I do isn’t so bad?”

“I suppose.”

“Great.” Joss pulled the other man down into bed with him, wrapping his arms firmly around the other. “Just no more exorcisms, please.” He stretched, letting his tail, horns, and wings emerge much to Gabriel’s distress. "Calm down. Wanna touch them?”

“…Our entire relationship is going to be like this isn’t it?”

“Yeah… Yeah, it is.”
