Story Notes: This story contains characters that were first introduced in "Fate". However, it is not really necessary to have read "Fate" to understand this story. In fact, you may like Victor better if you haven't read "Fate". As for those of you who have read "Fate"? No, Shayne and Lexi will not be showing up in this fic. Maybe in later stories (Victor has a long back story), but not this one. Also, I have a general outline for this story, but everything isn't set in stone yet. Just like with "Perceived Perceptions", I'm sure that some things will not go as planned. So, the warning lable above is just a general guide, I really don't know for sure where this fic will go. Just a warning, if you're squicky about some stuff (don't worry, there won't be beastiality or scat or anything too extreme) then read the warnings at the start of each chapter. However, I know from experiance, that most of my regular readers can handle anything that I throw at them, so I'm not too worried about any of you. Either way, I hope you enjoy the fic...

Chapter Note: This is just a little lemon to get us started. Fun and games, no? It would almost count as a PWP even. Incase you can't remember Blaine, Victor's lover, he was the bound boy at Victor's feet when Shayne went to visit the vampire at the end of "Fate". This is the first time that I've let him speak *LOL* I have his backstory ploted too, although it will be a little while before we get there. Either way, let me know how you like our little Blaine, as well as the Victor/Blaine pairing.

The next chapter will start the "real" story. I've got it written already, just need to edit it, and I hope to have it up sometime soon. The chapters in this fic will be a bit shorter than usual, but there will be more of them. As it stands now there will be between 20 and 30 chapters of 2500 words each.

Now, on with the fic...

Somewhere In Between

Chapter One: Why

It was a bright, beautiful spring day. The breeze blew fresh and clean, the birds were chirping in the trees, children laughed and played in the streets, and lovers strolled hand in hand down sunlit avenues. However, one particular pair of lovers chose not to take advantage of the lovely weather, instead closeting themselves inside, far from the sparkling beauty of spring's embrace. This was mostly due to the fact that vampires were not known for being overly fond of afternoon breezes and sunlit avenues. In fact, they usually found such things to be quite distasteful, and as such Victor had chosen to spend the day inside, sharing his latest masterpiece with his pretty young lover.

"I told you that I'd let you read it once I was done." Victor said, tossing the completed manuscript onto the desk in front of Blaine, the other man's pale eyes widening with excitement as he picked up the thick mass of pages in his hands and began to thumb through them. "Well, I'm done now."

"I can see that." Blaine answered, his brows drawing together in confusion as he stopped flipping the pages and allowed himself to read the first few paragraphs. "But why is it in third person? I thought these were supposed to be your memoirs."

"They are." The dark haired vampire replied simply.

"Don't you think that it's a little strange to write your own story in a third person perspective?" Blaine had long ago gotten used to his lover's strange ways, but this seemed a little off even for the quirky immortal. Writing his own story in someone else's voice? Very strange indeed.

"Well, I am a novelist, after all. Since my publisher wants my latest piece done by last week, and I've been spending all of my time lately writing out this bit of my past, I decided to combine my own story with that of my latest novel. Killing two birds with one stone, so to speak."

"Don't ya think that's strange, too."

"Don't I think what's strange, my sweet?" Victor asked absently, leaning over the blond's shoulder to look at the pages himself, even though he had already read through them several times. He was nothing if not a perfectionist.

"That all vampires seem to be novelists."

"What do you mean?" His attention was momentarily taken away from the words on the page as he addressed his companion's strange question, wondering what had made the other male begin such an odd line of questioning. "What makes you think that all vampires are novelists?"

"In all of those movies and books about vamps, they always seem to be writers of some sort." Then, as if it had just occurred to him, he added, "And that handsome bloodsucker you introduced me to last week, didn't he say he was an investigative reporter, or journalist, or something like that?"

"True, Angelo does publish quite a few articles." Victor agreed, "And, although you can't exactly put much stock in most of those Hollywood fictions, I suppose that many of us are writers. Probably so that we can make our own hours."

"Makes sense, I guess." Blaine conceded, returning his attention to the pages of Victor's memoir-slash-novel once again. However, he had only gotten through the first few sentences before he was once again distracted, this time by the satiny soft lips of his vampire lover upon his neck.

"Victor?"

"Hmm?" Victor didn't stop his actions even as he answered, continuing to kiss and nibble along the length of Blaine's neck, and he delighted in the shiver that his hum-like comment brought about in his distracted lover.

"I'm trying to read here." Blaine said accusingly, although his comment lacked much anger, even as he leaned his head to the side to give the other man greater access to the sensitive cords that ran the length of his slender neck. He could feel the sharp tips of the vampire's fangs as they scraped along the surface of his flesh, threatening to, but never actually breaking the skin. The feeling was like a drug to him, the threat of pain and pleasure intoxicating him as surely as any illicit substance ever cold, and he suddenly longed to feel the other man deep within him. Biting, fucking, filling. Anything to get closer to Victor, to be reminded that he belonged to him and no other.

"The book can wait." Victor said with authority, taking the manuscript from Blaine's now lax fingers, tossing it to the side as he forced his chair back from the desk, spinning it to face him with nothing more than a flick of his wrist. Preternatural strength certainly had it's benefits at times. "I have far more interesting things in mind for you, my beguiling little pet." Then, leaning close to whisper hotly in Blaine's ear, he added, "Besides, actions speak far louder than words." There was something about being close to the pretty blond that made him simply crazy, but Victor didn't mind in the least as he swooped in and captured Blaine's lips in a hot, bruising kiss that stole the breath from both of their lungs instantaneously.

"Fuck!" Blaine exclaimed when at last they broke apart, his entire body suddenly feeling as though it were on fire. He loved the effect that Victor had on him, and he eagerly reached for his lover again once his lungs had stopped burning.

"That's my plan exactly." Victor answered, gladly allowing the other man to engage him in yet another breathtaking kiss as he pulled him up and out of the chair that he had been occupying, kicking the now useless item out of their way before pushing his lover back and up onto the desk. Papers, books, pens, and other various writing implements all went clattering to the floor as Blaine was laid out across the dark lacquered surface, but neither man particularly cared as they began to grind their aroused bodies together with abandon.

Victor's hands made quick work of the fastenings on Blaine's skin-tight jeans, and soon he was pulling away to rid him of the offending garment. A sly smile formed on Victor's now kiss swollen lips as he thought to himself, not for the first time, that he loved having a companion who thought that underwear were pointless. It made so many things so much easier. So very much easier.

For his part, Blaine had not remained idle. Once he recovered enough of his breath to breathe somewhat normally the blue eyed boy sat up and reached towards the upper most left hand drawer of the desk, looking for the lube that he knew to be there, glad that he and Victor had a house that was so well prepared to meet their needs. Others might have thought it odd to have lubrication and toys strewn about their home in various, unpredictable locations, but it suited the pair just fine. In fact, they couldn't understand why someone wouldn't want to be so very well prepared. After all, it was damn inconvenient to have to stop in the middle of what you were doing just to go upstairs and find the oil!

"So that's where this went to." Blaine said with amusement, pulling a thick neon purple double headed dong out of the drawer and waving it in Victor's general direction. That was the only problem he could find with keeping hidden stashes all around the house, things tended to get lost far too easily. However, Blaine decided that that was a problem to be tackled at another time, because currently he was faced with something far more enjoyable than any rubber toy could ever hope to be. With a flick of his wrist the toy went flying, and he vaguely heard it land with a thunk somewhere behind the couch, but he couldn't bring himself to care very much. Instead, his eyes met Victor's coal black orbs, glittering with dark promises of things to come, and it was all that Blaine could do not to cum on the spot. Something about Victor's ageless eyes, so knowing, so deep, so predatory and possessive, always made him feel as though he were falling into eternity with no hope of salvation. And he loved every minute of it.

Blaine was left with no more time to think as his legs were roughly shoved apart and thrown over Victor's broad shoulders, his body impaled seconds later by his lover's thick cock, the sensation of being stretched and filled enough to make the younger man scream out in ecstasy as every nerve in his body sang with an exhilarating mixture of pleasure and pain.

Victor didn't give Blaine so much as a second's rest in order to grow accustomed to his member being buried deep within him, knowing from experience that preparation and gentleness were all but wasted on the younger male the majority of the time. Instead he began a pounding rhythm, thrusting into the man beneath him with short, brutal strokes that had them both howling with pleasure within moments. The desk rocked beneath them, the heavy wooden structure scraping across the floor with the intensity of the vampire's unnatural strength, the sounds of wood on wood adding to the mixture of moans and screams that already filled the room. Victor's hands griped firmly onto Blaine's slender hips, sure to leave bruises by nightfall, and Blaine held steadfastly to Victor's forearms, his nails drawing blood as his fingers spasmed each time that the vampire brushed across his sensitive prostate with his cockhead.

Far too soon Blaine's back was bowing, his body held taunt, his climax imminent as every muscle in his body tightened in preparation. Victor could feel the tell-tale signs of his lover's impending release, the spasming of the body around him an almost painful joy, and he knew that his own orgasm was not far off either. He leaned down with one graceful movement and sank his fangs into the blond boy's shoulder, feeling the other man's cum splatter hot and thick between their bodies at the same time that he tasted the first tangy sweet drops of blood on his tongue. The combination of his lover's body tightening around him and the intoxicating flavor of his blood filling his mouth was enough to send the vampire over the edge too, and he came with a muffled scream of completion, still suckling voraciously at the wound on Blaine's shoulder as his hips continued to slam in a now erratic pattern against the other man's lax body. As he felt Victor release deep within him Blaine couldn't help but groan, the feeling of being marked at the same time that he was milked of his very life essence was more than his body could handle so soon after a mind blowing orgasm, and his body was forced into a second climax at the same time that the other man shuddered above him. Stars danced in front of his eyes, and for a moment he wondered if he might just pass out from the intensity of it all. Not that it would be the first time that Victor had fucked him into unconsciousness, so he wasn't all that worried. He knew that Victor would be there when he woke-up, that he wouldn't be alone, so he had nothing to fear. An odd thing to think with a vampire still licking at an open wound on his neck, his blood sliding wetly down his shoulder, but it was the truth all the same.

After a few moments Blaine felt himself being lifted into strong arms, cradled against a broad chest, the comforting feeling of a heartbeat against his cheek lulling him into a sort of half-sleep as they made their way towards the comfortable black leather couch across the room. There was a contented smile on his lips, and he knew that there would be a corresponding expression on Victor's face as well. It was always hard to figure out what would set off the vampire's passions, or his own for that matter, but Blaine was in no mood to complain. He sighed happily when Victor settled him next to his slightly larger form on the overstuffed couch, pulling a blanket about them both so that they could get some now much needed rest before night came. Strictly speaking, neither man needed to fear the sun, but it was a habit of both of them to remain as nocturnal as possible. It was just easier that way. More natural. Blaine was just beginning to drift off to sleep, thinking lazily about what he had planned for his amorous lover after they woke, when a thought suddenly occurred to him.

Blaine got up slowly, his legs still slightly shaky, laughing when he heard Victor grumble sleepily beside him as he lost the warmth of the other's body heat. He padded across the room on bare feet, his clingy grey shirt revealing more than it covered, not even bothering to attempt to find his pants. He had no shame, and it was just himself and Victor in the house, so he just couldn't seem to care much about his current state of undress. Besides, he knew that Victor preferred him in nothing at all, so he didn't think that it would be much of a problem should his lover wake and find him only half clothed.

He kneeled beside the desk, digging through the discarded pile of papers and miscellaneous items that now littered the floor for a few moments before finding what he was looking for. Then, clutching the thick mass of papers to his chest, Blaine hurried back to the warmth that Victor and the couch offered, not cold enough to put on his clothes, but more than a little chilled from the air conditioning that Victor insisted on keeping set so high.

Victor's arm wrapped instinctively around him the moment that he returned, pulling him close despite the fact that the vampire was already fast asleep, nuzzling his face affectionately against the back of Blaine's neck as he settled in. The sweet, if unconscious, gesture would have shocked the blond once upon a time, but not any more. Even though Victor often times seemed cold and uncaring, dangerous and deadly in ways that a mortal could never hope to be, Blaine knew from experience that, at least with him, the other man could actually be quite cute and cuddly. Not that he would ever dare to say such a thing to the vampire's face, but he knew it all the same, and he smiled lovingly as he settled in beside his lover. He set the papers beside him on the floor, fully intending to read the memoir as soon as he woke. Well, assuming that his companion didn't have other plans in mind. With a smile, Blaine drifted off to sleep, not doubting in the least that it would be some time before he got around to reading the novel.
