Author's Note
Welcome to my National Novel Writer\'s Month contribution. *smiles* Hope you enjoy it. Check back to this section for notes, updates, news, what-have-you.
I\'ll post more about the story when my brain isn\'t so fried.
Updated 11/7/05 - So the story goes like this...indeterminate period far in the future, in an Empire that feels every soul gets a second (and sometimes third, fourth or fifth) chance at life. Criminals are not locked up in jails, or worse *shudders* executed like farm animals. Instead they are saved, cleansed, rehabilitated.
Major Yancy Toth is a senior Reprogrammer (Repr) with the Imperial Marines. He takes the hard-luck cases. The ones who somehow resist not only the first run through the Rehabilitation Simulation, but the second and third times. That tiny 5% of 5% of the criminal population that refuses to give up their identities - psychos, murderers, traitors...he breaks them all.
And then we have Morgan, a most unusual case. Unique enough to garner Yancy\'s attention after only her second run and special enough that command has demanded the best Repr possible be put on the case.
We\'ll see how the pair fares as things roll along. I make no promises on the coherance of any of this, remember I\'m writing for word count. *grins and shrugs* So long rambling discourses are my friends.
Updated 11/14/05 - Well got seriously pissed at my characters and some more professional writing has been pushing at me. Look for some updates to Ideological War (soon to be renamed to The Ripple Effect) and perhaps one more chapter up on this one. If the damn characters behave I might consider coming back to it.
Thanks uncouthkitten and StoryJunkie for the reviews! *smiles* Glad you like the work.
Cheers.
