Every rose has it's thorn

This is the opening chapter for a little ‘love-story’ I’m starting It has a very “A bad boy can change a good girl forever” theme. It’s pretty long, so hopefully that gives you a good build up and you’ll have lots to comment on!

“Ugh! He completely ruins my panties! I swear!”

“I know what you mean! And his smile! My god…”

She couldn’t stand it anymore. That was it. I’m tired of these horny giggling school-girls! With that last thought in her mind, Kia packed her bag and left the cafeteria quietly.

“What’s up with her?” A girl sitting at the table questioned her friends.

A cafeteria is a place for eating, not for schools bands to put on shows whenever they felt like it! Why does the school let them anyways? Kia pondered her question- the answer so simple; Hideki Ayden, front man of the band Nymphet amine. Guys wanted to be him, girls wanted to be WITH him. And, he wasn’t a bad student either, so teachers had no reason to dislike him. Sure he cut class occasionally, has been caught making-out with several girls, several times- but when your father is one of the most respected, highly sought out lawyers in the country, none of that mattered. If I ever acted the way my friends did around him…I think I’d shoot myself….Kia laughed silently at her comment. What’s the big deal? He’s not that great looking…

Okay, so that was a complete lie. He was gorgeous. Long black hair, Pale blue eyes that matched well with his pale skin, high cheek bones, a narrow nose. That was only his facial features; his body was a different story… Slim waist, broad shoulders, and strong arms that you could get lost between. What I would do just to get him to hold me once…Kia let out a long sigh. That thought immediately brought her crashing back to reality. What am I thinking? That’s never happened before! A blush crept onto her face. It’s not like he would ever want to anyways…

Kia was startled by the sound of cheering and laughing. I guess the band is done? Kia wondered. She turned around and there he was, two girls under each arm, clinging to him for dear life. That’s not surprising. Kia grabbed her bag and started heading back to the school, ignoring the random cat-calls guys would shout at girls. It took her a moment to realize that they were being shouted at her. She spun on her heal to see who it was. It was a boy from her math class, Tohma was his name. He wasn’t a part of the Nymphet amine, but a very close friend to Hideki. The crowd began to break apart, but Tohma, Hideki and a few other guys and girls approached Kia.

“Hey babe, how about putting down that book bag and having a few shots with us.” Tohma asked with what looked like an attempt at a sexy grin.

Kia didn’t answer. Merely span back around, and continued her way inside. Hideki noticed a few papers fall out of her bag and picked them up. He told his friends to wait up for a second.

“Hey!...HEY!” Hideki shouted at Kia, but she continued to ignore him. He finally caught up to her and grabbed her hand. At the sudden contact, she turned around and smacked his hand away from hers. She didn’t realize, nor did she care who it was.

Kia sat inside the empty drama room after school hours. She wasn’t much of an actress, but she loved fashion and costumes, so she volunteered to be the costume designer for the end of the year school play. This years production was ‘Romeo and Juliet’. I wish I could have a love life like that…Kia sighed. Noticing a left over script sitting on the props table, she began to read from it:

How cam\'st thou hither, tell me,
And why fore?

Hideki walked through the silent halls of the school. I hate detention. He grumbled under his breath. Normally he never got it, but once in a while he would do something that he needed to be punished for. I guess drinking on school property is one of them, he muttered. Although, I got off pretty easy…Seeing as that’s a suspendable offence. Just as Hideki was about to head out the main gym when the sound of a soft female voice caught his ear. He decided to turn around and find out where the sound of beautifully spoken literature was coming from. He peered over the window of the drama room and saw Kia reading from the Romeo and Juliet script. He opened the door and crept in without making so much as a tiny sound.

The garden walls are high and hard
To climb,
And the place death, considering
Who thou art.

Kia finished reading one of Juliet’s lines and slumped into a near-by chair with a content look on her face. Hideki approached Kia quietly; as he did he began reciting Romeo’s line.

With love\'s light wings did I o\'er
Perch these walls.
For stony limits cannot hold love
Out,
And what love can do, that dares
Love attempt.
Therefore thy kinsmen are no stop
To me.

Kia jumped out of her chair, knocking it backwards. She was absolutely mortified. He heard her? He was watching her? Why? What was he doing at the school after hours? So many thoughts ran through her head, but her eyes were locked on his face, full of worry and shock.

“Are you okay?” Hideki asked, breaking the silence.

“F-Fine! Ju-Just recovering from a heart-attack” Kia replied, almost jokingly. Hideki just smiled at her. The look in his eyes was one that told her to continue reading from the script.

If they do see thee, they will
murder thee.

Hideki stepped close to her. Almost too close, for Kia’s comfort.

I have night\'s cloak to hide me
from their eyes…

His face was right in front of hers as he finished his sentence. Their eyes were locked. Kia, finally realizing what was going on, pushed away from him and turned around to hide her blush.

“We better head home. It’s almost 5…no one should be at school that late, it’s not healthy..” Hideki grabbed his bag and then handed Kia her jacket.

“Well then, I better go see a doctor, because I’m probably dying by now’” Kia replied to his comment. Hideki threw his head back and laughed. A real hearty laugh. Hideki held open the door for Kia, he didn’t even notice, but he was smiling. Sure, she wasn’t the prettiest of girls. She was short, 5’4 at the most he’d imagine, and almond shaped green eyes, a pert button nose and long mahogany hair. A lot different than the girls he was used to…but very intriguing. The two of them headed outside, Hideki headed towards his motorcycle and Kia went her own separate way. I guess there’s no time for Goodbyes…

“Hey wait!” Hideki called out to her. Kia timidly approached him with a puzzled look on her face. “Don’t think you’re walking home alone when it’s this cold and dark outside. Hop on.” Hideki passed Kia the extra helmet, and she took it without question. He was right, It was dark out, even though it was only 5 o’clock. That’s what she hated about winter and daylight-savings time. She wasn’t actually planning on walking home…She was going to take the bus, but would you pass up an opportunity like this? Kia settled herself behind Hideki. The grumbling of the motorcycles engine made her feel scared, and her stomach turn. Instinctively she wrapped her arms tightly around Hideki’s waist and they were off. Not only was she feeling scared and sick, but confusion got the best of her; “Why is he being so nice to me? Why is he suddenly noticing me…?”

Well how was that for the first chapter? If I get good reviews I’ll continue!
