Name Game
I was hoping for several things to happen in this but they didn't. Instead something else happened. The name Una says? It's the name of ... a certain someone from before that someone was mated. The entire computer thing to me seems like Una at the person on the other end are having a conversation through Rel and that I'm missing out on something. Someone. Shoe? Said that again the forum is acting up. Gods, I could play with that thing for several hours and it might work for a post or two. I know that the forum has decided that I am allowed to post at all times, whenever I want. So while I've thought it had gotten over itself... obviously it hasn't. I may very well update yet again tonight. Hopefully this time it will go the way I want it to go. Read, Review and Enjoy.Una turned back to the Sidhe as Rel stared at the immortal, confused. A smile quirked Una’s features as the male motioned towards the television with his cane. “Tell me, what is the purpose of this object? It shows pictures? I have seen it showing moving pictures, but how does it work, what moving pictures does it show? Are the moving pictures repetitive? Do I have a choice? Does each unit show only the same moving images over and over again?”“It. Uhm,” Rel followed Una as the immortal moved towards the television set with a little hop to his step, “what do you like to see?”Una pulled to a stop, almost at the couch, he half turned towards Rel and looked at the floor by the young man’s feet, “what do I like to see?”“Well. They had plays, no? Do you like tragedies? Comedies? Song? Dance.”“Songs, I am always interested in songs.”Rel walked past Una, ignoring the Sidhe as he plucked up the remote. He showed it to Una and motioned to the on/off button. Una pressed it and jerked himself straight as the television came on. The immortal’s head cocked to the side and he hummed a bar. To which every Sidhe in the room opened their mouths, bore their teeth and let out a small hiss. Una cleared his throat and straightened once more, “What is this about?”Rel actually looked at what was playing on the television. Porn. “Uhm. Pornography. There’s. Uhm. People feel the need to-”“Your society is broken, but the existence of pornography goes hand in hand with breathing or eating. Your bodies are made to make more bodies.”“Genetic imperative to continue the species which would require survival, foods,” Rel motioned to the television set as the program ended and a commercial for a fast food chain came on, “air, fighting, alpha dog reactions. And then sex. Sex and sex and more sex until babies exist.”“A male who humps everything actually has good blood,” Una responded, “His drive is simply nature telling his body to produce more of him. But what about music?”Rel motioned to the numbered buttons on the remote, “channel one-fifteen.”Una frowned at the remote then hit the channel button and the numbers one, one five. The television lagged for a moment before it changed over to the music channel. Which was in the middle of a commercial. A warm female voice narrated as people went about their everyday lives full of sunshine and nice stuff. “To live your life to its fullest without ever worrying about anything, ever again. The health and security of you and your loved ones will be ever ensured. Thanks to the Tele corporation’s newest product. Coming in just a few days, you can pre-order and ensure that you have the best security system technology has to offer. “Tele corporation. A company looking out for your best interests. A family. You can trust.”“Fucking bastards,” Rel muttered under his breath. “Hmm?” Una glanced over his shoulder, then back at the commercial as an image of the Tele family flashed, “what is their line name? That family?”“Tele.”“What was it before … the reformation? The change between Norash and the multiple lands that once ruled here?”“I don’t know? I. Have a computer I could look it up maybe.”“Computer? Is that like a book? But. With everything in it?”“Yes.”“Please do,” Una sat on the armrest of the couch and watched the television as a music video began. Rel moved to the cupboard and pulled out his laptop. He booted it up and opened the internet browser. The program’s forum popped up, his homepage. As he went to click the search bar a conversation window popped up. Raya says, “Hullo.”“Fuck off,” Rel responded, not interested in talking to Raya right then. “You have Una.”“I don’t want to talk about it.”“Why not? Una usually means good things for everyone. Did he hurt you? Is he trying to… you know he’s well known as a pervert.”“He hasn’t hurt me.”“If he does you should jab him between the shoulder blades. Doesn’t have to be very hard.”Rel glanced at Una, who was moving in his seat to the music. The immortal wasn’t really moving his left shoulder in time with his right. Like the left shoulder blade was catching on something. “He hasn’t hurt me.” Rel responded with an annoyed chat face. “Good.”“I have to look something up, so I have to go.”“What are you looking up?”“The Tele family name before Norash was united.”“…”Rel frowned at the computer screen. He got the feeling that Raya’s response had nothing to do with the person on the other end not knowing, but had something to do with annoyance or. Confusion? Was it possible for him to reach through a computer to find someone? That would be … way… “Savel.”“What?”“The Tele’s family name is really Savel.”Rel turned to Una and said out loud, “The Tele’s family name is Savel.”Una turned his head ever so slowly towards Rel. The immortal met Rel’s eyes, eyebrows drawing downward as he said, “how did you come by this information so quickly?”“Someone named Raya told me.”“Rahya.”“Raya.”“No. That name is pronounced Rahya. As in Rahyannosht.”“Is that supposed to ring a bell?” Rel asked Una. “Some sort of mythological figure?”“Rahyannosht? Not to you. No.” Una looked back to the television show.Rel turned back to his computer screen, puzzled as he typed in, “your name, is it pronounced Ray-ah or Rahya?”“Rahya.”“As in Rahyannosht?”“Yes. That is my full name.”Rel considered the information for several minutes before he wrote back, “what do your friends call you?”There was a long pause, too long for anything good to be happening. A long silence before one word popped onto the screen and Raya logged off. “Rava.”.
