I feel so frozen. I guess they finally figured it out, and now I’m getting replaced by Lucas. I don’t want it to end like this!
And then Nick stands up and goes over to him. “Listen, dude,” he starts, “I think that you should get the fuck out of here. Stop treating Alec like this.”
Lucas’ smile fades as he just looks at Nick. “You know, I am pretty positive that my accusations are true.”
“I highly doubt that.”
“Well then, if you’re so sure…” Lucas grins at him, “prove it. Prove that Alec is a real boy, and I’ll leave you alone.”
“And how the hell am I going to prove that?”
“There’s a very simple way to prove it, duh.”
Nick’s only response to that remark was a quick smack across the face! I don’t remember ever seeing him this mad before. “Look… I won’t make Alec drop his pants, you pervert.” The glare that Nicky gave Lucas then was enough to make my own blood run cold.
Takeru cleared his throat and joined in the argument. “Perhaps we should visit his parents’ home then. It’d be a simple way to find out for sure.”
Of course… and then they’ll meet my mother… and my sister that Lucas knows about thanks to Millie!!! Oh no… Oh no… Oh no…
“Alright, we can do that,” Lucas replies with a small grin. “And that’ll prove once and for all that I am right.”
“Shut the fuck up!!!” Nick practically shouts at him, making me jump.
Takeru puts a hand on his shoulder. “Calm down, Nick.”
“Seriously,” I say. “Look, let’s just get this over with, okay?”

And so Takeru ended up driving us here, to my mother’s. As we walk up to the door, I feel my heart pounding in my chest. Oh my god, Mom please don’t give me away. Please understand what’s going on… I knock on the door, and it flies open, my mom standing at the door. Obviously she had seen us coming… “Hello, boys, what can I do for you?” she questions them. I can feel the insanity radiating off of her already…
When I don’t hear any of them say anything, I look at the guys… and find them staring my mom. Yes, she’s beautiful for her age, and no I don’t think I was born with any of her beauty. After a minute, they finally snap out of it, and Lucas, of course, is the first to ask her, “Is this kid really your son or your daughter?”
“You mean you can’t tell?” she says, giving him a surprised look. “You must be really blind.”
Nick pushes him out of the way. “People keep on accusing him of being a girl.”
“Oh, why would they do that?” She pulls me towards her, giving me a hug, and suffocating me a little… “Alec is my dear son, and I love him! So what if he’s a little girly, I support him!” She lets go of me long enough to point a finger at Lucas. “It’s people like you that don’t understand!” Oh, god, she’s acting like I’m her gay son now…
The guys are just staring at her again, this time for the insanity that is her. I knew that it would blow up eventually tonight, and it just did.
After a couple minutes, Takeru speaks up. “So, that’s that…”
“Yep,” agrees a very disappointed Lucas.
“… Uh huh…” is all I hear Nick say as he continues to stare at my mother like she’s some two-headed alien.
After she finally lets go of me, we all head back to Takeru’s car. I wave at her a little bit, then crawl inside the back seat, sitting next to Nick. The drive back home seems longer. Maybe because it’s getting even later. I feel really tired, and the lights outside are passing us like blurs. No one is saying anything, but the classic rock station is playing quietly on the radio.
I glance over at Nick, and see him watching out the window. I wonder what will happen once all this is over… Will he actually end up hating me then, when he finds out that I really am a girl? I don’t want him to hate me… I really… don’t…

I open my eyes when I hear talking, noticing that the car has stopped. I yawn lightly, and as I sit up I notice something. When I fell asleep, I must have fallen over, because it looks like I was sleeping on Nick the entire time! Thankfully, he’s still asleep himself. Or else I’d have a lot of explaining to dooo… Waaaahhhh…
Nick’s door opens and Takeru pokes his head inside. “Are you getting out any time soon?” He bonks Nick on the head with his fist, waking up the sleepy boy.
“Ugh, why the hell did you do that, Takeru?” he grumbles.
“You know, I could have been mean and let you sleep in the car all night.” I climb out and shut the door behind me, looking back to see how long it’d take them to join me. After a few minutes of their playful arguing, they start walking up. Lucas is nowhere in sight, I notice. Takeru realizes what I’m looking for, saying, “He drove back home to his parents’. We have nowhere to put him for the night anyway.”
“Well, alright then…” And as we walk back to our home, I feel a smile creep onto my lips. I get to stay… I actually get to stay with them! Thank you, Mom, for once your insane nature saved me! I don’t have to leave!
