Sector Nine

Sorry it took long to get up. -_-;

Sector Nine

Roy Foreman:

I have got to stop short-circuiting my brain like that. One day I’m going to pass out and not wake up. Now that would suck.

I slowly make my way out of the bedroom, Jay’s bedroom. Yes, I know it all too well. Heading down the short hallway, I find him in the living room, hanging up the phone. He watches me as I lean lazily against the doorframe. I smirk at him.

“How are you feeling?”

“Better.”

“Are you sure?”

There’s an odd note to his tone. “What’s wrong?”

He hesitates for a few seconds, green eyes going back to the phone. He has his glasses on again. “We need to go to Kismet. Everyone has been told to. Even Mydnite.”

“Well, what we waiting for?” I walk the short distance to him and wrap my arms around his waist. “Everything will work out, you’ll see.”

Kitsune:

“Long time no see, fox.” I narrow my gaze at Tsubasa as he walks into the large meeting room, Inuki following behind him.

“Not long enough.” Rikku grabs the back of my shirt as I growl out the words.

The two walk around everyone and come to stand next to Rikku and I. They all take their seats and it’s clear to see what has developed between the two teams since the start of this mess. It will be their saving grace in the end. The bonds of love and friendship are unbeatable.

Unless they meet Adam.

Why he was allowed to hold so much power is beyond me.

Selfish, arrogant prick.

I clear my throat to get everyone’s attention.

“By now, you all know the basics of what is going on due to Nui’s skills. There is more you need to know.

“Even though we are viewed as rival organizations, we are not. However, sometimes there are some of you who need to let out some frustration and pent up anger. To help with this, we let you fight one another. If a death occurs, it is meant to be. There is a time for all of us. We never have and never will encourage you to kill unless it is necessary. We pushed your two teams to an extent in order to arrive at the conclusions most of you have come to over the course of these last few days. Those who have attacked you from either Kismet or Thanatos were not under our orders.”

“Of course not. None of you are smart enough to pull off something of this magnitude.” A barrier comes up around us.

That was Adam’s voice.

“Now you know your enemy. Do not fail.” Tsubasa’s words echo around the room.

Our teams leave to deal with this problem.

I sigh and remove my glasses, massaging my temples. “This is going to be ugly.”

“This is the beginning of the End.” The four of us glance out the window to see a seven-winged Angel leaning against the glass opposite us.

Her long light pink hair flows gently around her. It looks like it’s shining. She turns her head to look at us and a dazzling, beautiful smile graces her lips. Her golden eyes hold a knowing warmth hidden within them.

“Lilith.”

Jay Cummings:

We all run outside to face the Angels. Six of them float before us, as if waiting. Each of them have many different numbered wings. I wonder if it’s a ranking? There’s one Angel sitting on a parked car. He has seven wings. His hair is short and so blond it looks golden. His eyes are a crystal-like light blue.

He snaps his fingers.

The six Angels floating above us start our way.

We split up into groups of two.

Roy grabs my arm and pulls me along with him. The Angel chasing us pulls a sword from his sheath and speeds up. Just as he’s about to hit us, Roy release me and we take a few steps in the opposite direction. I immediately remove a few bombs from my jacket and toss them at the Angel. One of his three wings, bats them away and they land at his feet. He turns to me with a smirk which I return with one of my own.

I hold my watch up and press a button. The bombs explode around him.

When the smoke clears, he appears unharmed. He starts to walk towards me but Roy comes up behind him and holds the Angel’s head between his hands. He closes his eyes as the Angel struggles to get Roy away from him. It only takes a few minutes before the Angel slips from Roy’s hands, dead.

Roy falls to the ground too.

“Roy!”

I rush over to him as he rolls onto his back.

“Guess I pushed myself a little too far, huh.”

“Idiot.” I sit him up slightly and hug him to me.

“I need an aspirin.”

I laugh at him and let him lie back down. I should see if the others need me. But I can’t just leave him here unprotected. I run my fingers through his hair and sigh.

Pain suddenly explodes from my chest. I touch the spot with my free hand and see blood coating my fingers.
