Awkward

Co-written with Aya

Ruka scrambled up in bed hearing Daisuike's scream then heard him becoming sick in the bathroom. That scream- It had been blood chilling and he never wanted to hear it again. Getting up carefully he moved into the bathroom. Seeing Daisuike curled up near the toilet he stared at him.

"Ouji-sama. . ." He didn't want to startle him as he made his way in speaking softly. "It's okay. It was just a dream. They can't hurt you anymore. . ." Kneeling beside him he wrapped his arms around him stroking and caressing him.

"I swear. . . I won't let anything hurt you again." But Ruka wondered how he could protect Daisuike against his own dreams.

"M-my pills, can-can I have them please." He hadn't taken the sleeping pills the doctor had prescribed. He hadn't thought he would need them now that he was out of the hospital. He didn't remember dreaming at all the whole time he was in the hospital, but that was probably due to the medication.

He couldn't control the shaking and hated that he'd scared Ruka. "I'm sorry. I didn't . . . it was just a nightmare."

Even as he said it he knew that much of it was real, and had happened. He didn't want to keep reliving any of it. It was too painful on too many levels.

Ruka merely nodded getting up and quickly grabbing the pills and a cup filling it with water from the sink. Sitting back down he helped Daisuike drink some of the water handing him the pills. It scared him to know that the man he loved was shaking so bad he could barely hold a damn cup of water on his own.

"It's okay. . . I promise it'll be okay. Don't worry, please don't worry." He could only keep reassuring Suke that it would be okay, stroking his hair and trying to sooth him. Ruka knew he couldn't stop the nightmares but he could be there after them.

Once Daisuike had taken the pills he set the cup on the sink. Gently he slid his hands under Daisuike’s knees pulling him close and standing up. He was instantly shocked. It was entirely too easy to pick him up. How much weight Daisuike had lost? Tomorrow morning he was making him eat as much junk food as he could find in the house and then some.

Carrying him back to the bed he was surprised that Daisuike hadn't resisted him at all. He hadn’t even really moved except to put his arms around Ruka’s neck. Ruka carefully laid him on the bed and climbed in next to him. Shaking his head Ruka curled up around Daisuike drawing him in and next to him, encircling him in his arms.

"Try and go back to sleep Ouji-sama. I'm here and I will never let anything hurt you. I will die first before I let that happen." Stroking his hair he pulled him even closer.

Daisuike shut his eyes, trying to reclaim the calm feeling he'd had after dinner, but each time he shut his eyes he would see Fujimaru's face. He shifted around until he was facing Ruka and buried his face against Ruka's shoulder. Some yakuza he was, trembling like a baby in his lover's arms.

While he felt like he should be embarrassed, he wasn't. Ruka wasn't making fun of him, but was just holding him. It was what he desperately needed right now. He took a deep breath, then another letting the soft yet masculine smell of Ruka envelop him. It helped to push the other thoughts away and he soon drifted to sleep.

Ruka barely slept the rest of the night, worried that another nightmare would overtake Daisuike watching for the signs to wake him if it was indeed the case. Thankfully he seemed to rest peacefully and he was able to drift asleep- more like pass out from exhaustion no longer able to keep his eyes open- for a few hours.

When Ruka next woke, Daisuike was still huddled in a little ball against him. Carefully detaching himself from his lover he moved to the kitchen finishing what dishes Haru hadn't done and to order breakfast. He was going to need to learn what Daisuike liked for each type of meal. As much as he liked ordering food, it was going to go to waste with just testing what he liked.

Next he decided to call up some decorators and speak to them about changing the apartment completely. He had always hated it and now he had a very good reason to change it. After it was all taken care of he moved back to the bedroom and curled up with Daisuike watching for him to wake up and hoping to fall asleep again. He was simply running on pure will power at the moment.

Daisuike had no idea what time it was when he woke. The curtains were drawn over the windows and it could have still been night time for all he knew. Ruka was sound asleep next to him. The sight sent a spiral of warmth through him and on impulse he leaned over and lightly kissed the sleeping man. Smiling softly he slipped out of the bed, heading for the bathroom.

That taken care of he went to the kitchen to find something to eat. He was starving and there was more than enough food to choose from. He blinked coming out of the bedroom. It had to be around noon or later, bright sunlight was pouring in the windows nearly blinding him after the dimness of the bedroom. He'd never have slept so late at home. Going to the kitchen he rummaged through the fridge finding the dish that Ruka had liked so well and setting it to the side. He would save that for Ruka. Finding himself something he put in in the microwave and started a pot of tea.

Someone had already done the dishes and he shook his head. He was going to have to get up earlier if he was going to help out around here. He glanced around the apartment. Akira was right, there was something cold, almost unfriendly about the place right now. He wondered if Ruka would allow him to make a few small changes.

Yawning Ruka turned over realizing there wasn't a body there. Frowning he patted around then realized Daisuike was gone. Opening his eyes finally he stared. Yup, gone. Sitting up he ran a hand through the blond locks stretching. He was glad he had gotten some sleep.

Hopping out of bed he looked around and spotted Daisuike at the kitchen table, wincing at the bright light of the room. He needed to leave a small crack with the curtains next time or else this would be irritating if they always slept so late.

"Morning. What time is it?" He moved towards the table trapping Daisuike against it as he leaned in kissing him. That devilish thought came to him again and he had to resist the urge to shove the tea pot aside.

Daisuike grinned up at him, one hand on Ruka's hip. "Almost two. I heated you up some food in case you are hungry. The tea is fresh too."

The grin almost faltered as he remembered what had happened that night. He would remember to take his medicine tonight. If he kept having to relive that he was going to go insane.

"So, do we have any plans for today?"

"A few, but I have a request of you." He stepped back. Ruka had thought long and hard about it last night and he decided to talk to him about it. Moving around he took a seat motioning for Daisuike to do it as well. Pouring them both tea he took his own cup sipping it for a moment. Looking over the brim of the cup he exhaled slowly.

"I want you to get into therapy. I'm not sure if the Yakuza has any connections to some who would understand the hardships of what happens in your job, but I would really like it if you did." He watched Daisuike carefully for a moment truly afraid of how the other would react to his request.

Daisuike blinked, his eyes widening as he stared at Ruka, the tea forgotten halfway to his lips. He slowly put it down his eyes not leaving Ruka.

"What? Why? One stupid nightmare is no reason to think that I need therapy."

Ruka was slightly relieved that Daisuike hadn't started yelling, though the denial of needing help was going to be hard to deal with. Slowly taking another sip of the tea he carefully set it down staring at Daisuike.

"Daisuike." He paused trying to find the right words, "You nearly died by being tortured by someone who was in your clan and your little brother was kidnapped and nearly killed by the same man. Your mother more than likely scarred your entire family, plus your day job isn't the most. . . pleasant in the world. I would say all that combined would make it very superb reason to attend therapy sessions."

He took the cup slowly sipping it watching again for Daisuike's reason. He didn't want to upset his Ouji-sama but he honestly thought it was a good idea.

Daisuike flinched looking down as Ruka listed off the reasons why he thought he needed therapy. Put that way, he really did sound fucked in the head. What therapist would want to sit and listen to him anyway? He didn't need to talk to someone about what happened, he needed to get on with his life. He couldn't change any of it so he'd just learned to deal with the occasional problem that came along because of it.

Although it had seemed that Fujimaru had known just what to do to him. The thought that someone would know him that well truly scared him. He'd spent so much of his life never letting anyone close, never letting anyone know what he truly thought or felt, that the prospect of willingly divulging that information was anathema to him. He couldn't do it.

"That might be so, but I would rather not."

"Why."

Ruka was going to push the subject a bit. He really didn't understand why Daisuike didn't want to get help and it bothered him. There was so much he still didn't know about him and that bothered him greatly.

"I don't see what it would help, frankly. What I do at work is cathartic for me. I don't need someone telling me that how I deal with my problems is wrong. I've found what works for me and truthfully, I'd rather just forget it and move on. There's nothing I can do about what happened now. It happened and I can either mope, letting it rule my life or I can suck it up and move on." Daisuike glanced up for a moment, not sure how Ruka was going to take his statement. He wasn't about to back down on this just yet.

Ruka let the conversation die for a moment as he gathered his thoughts. He had really hoped Daisuike would've relented some but he could understand his reasonings. He supposed if he had gone to a therapist and told them what he did to ease his own pain they would tell him the exact same thing.

But maybe they were wrong and that mere thought was something Ruka didn't want to deal with.

Sighing he simply nodded, "I understand." Setting the tea aside after one last sip he stood up. "I have to go make a few more phone calls." Pulling his phone out he headed towards the bedroom dialing the number he needed.

Daisuike watched him go feeling as though he'd disappointed Ruka somehow. He sighed and pushed the cup of tea away before resting his head on his arm. Maybe his staying here wasn't the best idea. He felt like he needed the comfort of more familiar surroundings. As much as he loved being with Ruka, this place just didn't feel like home to him.

After a while he got up and put the things in the sink. He left the tea on the table in case Ruka decided he wanted more. Going into the living room he stared out the window for a while. Did Ruka really think he was that messed up? Was he? He did torture and sometimes kill people so . . . yes probably.

He sighed trying to force down the urge to leave and go find something to take his mind of things. That was the last thing he should be doing right now.

Ruka sighed as he came out of the bedroom changed. Seeing Suke on the couch he smiled before walking to the door and opening it.

"Fuck! I forgot about those." Sighing he wheeled the car of breakfast foods in cringing. They weren't really probably any good now. "I had ordered breakfast for us this morning but I fell asleep again. By the way, I need to know what you like to eat. I know a few things but I think you'd get burnt out on them after a while." He smiled moving to the trashcan to get rid of the food.

"Oh, another thing. I have decorators coming in about an hour. I was planning on leaving and running an errand while they were here. Unless you want to help design the place. I was going to give them some ideas and leave it to them but I'd love your input on what I can change and what it should look like."

Daisuike didn't like to see so much food wasted, but there wasn't anything to be done about it now. He was surprised Ruka was going to redecorate. Surprised but happy.

"Actually, I prefer to fix my own food. If you wanted to just buy some groceries I'd be more than happy to cook. It's at least one of the things I can do right now." He stood up glad that there was no dizziness. "I'll go take a shower and get changed. I'd love to help with the decorating. There were a couple of small things I thought might look nice. If you don't care."

"Sure, we'll go shopping later. Or I can just order the food. Not sure if you're up for all that walking." He smiled at him gently. "Go ahead and shower. The decorators won't be here for another hour." As Suke started to leave the room Ruka blinked slowly watching him as his mind clicked.

Wait. . . Shower?

A naughty thought crossed his mind and he couldn't help himself as he waited only about 5 minutes before heading into the bedroom. He could hear the shower going and he grinned wickedly as he stripped heading into the bathroom.

Silently walking inside he slipped inside the shower wrapping his arms around Daisuike's waist and chest pulling him back against him grinning.

"Ne. . . Need any help?"

Daisuike stiffened in Ruka's arms. He'd been careful at the hospital to not let Ruka see him. Sure he'd had a few scars to before, but these where fresh, the newly healed skin a pink color. The one on his side was especially bad the dark criss crossing stitches matching the bruising. It wasn't like he just had the stab wounds, there were also the burn marks. He didn't want Ruka seeing them. Hopefully he hadn't. Daisuike was still getting used to the sight of them himself, remembering the pain and degradation that went along with each one.

Ruka noticed the way Daisuike stiffened in his arms and was confused for a second. Had he hurt him? He hoped he hadn't. That was the last thing he wanted to do to Daisuike. Slowly loosen his grip he turned him around touching his cheek.

"I-I'm sorry, did I hurt you?" His eyes intent on Suke's as he tried to determine what had happened. He was terrified he had hurt him somehow.

Diasuike shook his head, "N-no that’s not . . . just I'm sorry but could, could you go out." He continued in a rush seeing the look on Ruka's face. "I'm sorry, but I haven't had a moment to myself in days and . . ."

Ruka stared at Daisuike for a moment before slowing nodding and stepping back, "Yeah, sorry. . ." The way Daisuike had looked at him made his chest twist in pain and he tried to smile. "Take your time." Moving out of the shower he grabbed a towel for himself quickly drying off and heading back into the bedroom.

Changing into a new set of clothes he glanced at himself in the mirror. Was there something wrong with him? Was he really suffocating Daisuike? Shaking his head he moved to his dresser trying to make himself look better. Maybe he wasn't pretty enough without his make-up on. He’d not really bothered with it much while Daisuike was in the hospital, being more worried about just being there with him.

Once the make-up was on he looked at his contacts trying to decide what color he wanted. Grabbing his phone he called Sono asking for help quietly. He trusted Sono's opinion and he desperately needed his friend's help.

Once done with the shower Daisuike took his time getting dressed. Not really because he wanted to but because he kept getting dizzy. Damn Fujimaru! Daisuike hoped that Jiro had made him suffer. A lot.

He tried not to think about how hurt Ruka had sounded when he'd asked him to leave. He just hoped Ruka hadn't looked too closely at him. He sighed pulling on his jeans forcing himself to not wince at the pain. He'd deliberately picked clothes that would hide any of the scars and fading bruises. There wasn't much he could do about the one on his face, but it wasn't that noticeable. Not like the others.

Ruka stepped into the bedroom seeing Daisuike coming out of the bathroom and he felt a small flood of nervousness hit him. He desperately wanted to please the beautiful man standing in front of him and he'd stop at nothing to do it. Walking over to his dresser he got out his green contacts. Sono had said green was a perfect color for him, though he had also said just to go without them but Ruka wanted to make sure Suke found him attractive.

As he put them in he smiled faintly looking at Daisuike, "You look nice. Those jeans really fit you." Turning back to the mirror he checked his make-up. Was it good enough? Should he add more? Remove some? He was so worried. Glancing at Suke through the mirror he tried to smile again.

"The decorators are on their way. . ."

Daisuike didn't say anything as he walked up behind Ruka. He didn't like the fact that Ruka suddenly seemed skittish. Studying his face in the mirror Daisuike realized he'd put on make-up. It really brought out his eyes even more which had been the thing that had first captivated Daisuike about the man. That intense gaze that he hadn't been able to tear himself away from.

"That's good. Is something wrong, Ruka?"

Turning around slowly he tried to smile again, "No. Why? Is- . . . Is something wrong on your end?" He hated how he suddenly felt the same old need to be accepted. His heart felt like it was slowly splintering.

Rejection.

It was the same feeling he had gotten whenever his parents would brush him off. Why was it coming up now? Did Suke really not want him? Did he realize just how useless he really was? Reiko had done more for Daisuike's family than Ruka could ever imagine and what had he done? Drove a damn car. That's all. He had simply drove a car to the hospital. He was so damn useless it was no wonder Daisuike didn't want him.

Daisuike shook his head and moved closer to Ruka a small smile on his lips. "No, nothing is wrong. You just seemed nervous. Are you not wanting to redecorate?"

He played with Ruka's hair for a moment before letting his hand rest on his shoulder. His other arm came up wrapping around the toned waist. He went to lean forward to kiss Ruka's cheek when a sudden rush of dizziness hit him and he stumbled forward knocking Ruka into the dresser.

"Shit, sorry, sorry. Are you alright?

"Itai. . . Yeah." Ruka smiled suddenly. Maybe the make-up helped. Suke was touching him and he had nearly kissed him. He'd make sure to wear it more often. Ruka was also going to need to remember how he did it today. It made him happy that he had found a way for Suke to like him. Though he wondered what changed. Suke had seen him without make-up before, right? Maybe he hadn't. Oh well, he'd just always wear it. Then Daisuike would be fine around him.

Licking his lips slowly he reached down stroking Suke's cheek after they righted themselves. "Let's have you sit for a while. . ." Or lay. Grinning Ruka moved Daisuike to the bed before gently pushing him back kissing him on the lips. A soft groan escaped him. The mere taste of his Ouji-sama was already getting him hard and he wanted more.

"The . . . decorators . . . Ruka," Daisuike managed between kisses. He didn't really want to stop, not at all and if Ruka wanted to call them and postpone their arrival a while he'd be totally fine with that. It was just to nice to finally be alone with Ruka and he was aching to strip him out of his clothes and just kiss him all over. But then he'd probably end up getting stripped too . . . maybe tonight when it was dark and Ruka couldn't see how messed up he was.

"Mmm, they can wait. . ." Grinning Ruka slipped a hand under Daisuike's shirt gently stroking and caressing his torso. He had longed to be able to do this and to finally be able to do it made him happy. Shifting back he pushed up Daisuike's shirt wanting to kiss and nip at that soft freshly cleaned skin.

"God I miss doing this. . ."

"R-Ruka! Stop." Daisuike scrambled back shoving his shirt down. That had been way too close. He didn't want Ruka to be disgusted by him, by how messed up he was. "They-they'll be here any minute. We should probably get ready."

He gently ran his fingers through Ruka's hair lightly kissing him before getting out of the bed as quickly as he dared.

Ruka stared at Daisuike for a moment feeling kind of hurt that he had shoved him away. It confused the hell out of him. Did he want him or not? Daisuike hadn't cared before but he suddenly didn't want to?

Running a hand through his hair he shook his head looking at the clock. They still had another 20 minutes before the decorators would get there. Settling back he watched Daisuike move to the living room. What was he doing wrong? What could he do to make things better? Whatever he was doing it was making Daisuike push him away and that hurt. Grabbing his cell he decided he would call Sono again. He'd know what to do to fix all of this. At least he hoped he did.

Standing in the kitchen Daisuike looked around. He had a few ideas for some things he wanted to change. First thing he was getting rid of that horrid couch; it looked more like a torture device. He would know. That and the whole apartment need more color and maybe some live plants. Something to soften all the hard edges, it didn’t suit Ruka’s personality at all.

He glanced back to the bedroom wondering what Ruka was up to.

Ruka sighed softly as he finished his phone call hearing the doorbell ring just as he snapped his phone shut. That hadn't helped at all and after it all he was even more confused than normal. Sliding off the bed he headed to the front door pocketing the phone, letting the decorators in.

"Hello, thank you for calling me Sakata-san! Let's get down to business shall we?"

"Sure." He moved over to the kitchen table looking at Daisuike, "I would like Daisuike here to also help design it."

"Ano-"

"No he's not another decorator. He's my boyfriend."

"Oh, okay." That seemed to relieve the designer as he set out several books having pulled them out of a wheeled carrying case.

Daisuike immediately went over taking one of the books and sitting at the table with it.

"Ano . . . I've actually got a few ideas if that is alright. First off we need a new couch and bedroom suit. I've already got some picked out. I'd also like to change the wall color in here, maybe you can help me pick a color. Something earthy."

Daisuike was excited to be doing something for Ruka and it helped to keep his mind off of other things. As long as he stayed busy he didn’t have to think about it.

"Hmm, completely different idea than what I was going for but I think I got an idea for you." Pulling out another book he flipped it open showing Daisuike the designs and layouts of Ruka's apartment as well as color and fabric swatches. "These are my earth tone palettes and generally these styles come in them. We can of course make any style in any color you want though."

Ruka smiled softly just watching the two. He really didn't care what his apartment looked like per say, he just wanted Daisuike and his family comfortable in it. He still probably wouldn't live anywhere but his room.

Daisuike glance over at Ruka seeing the slightly vacant expression on his face. "Ano, I'm sorry Ruka. I forgot you were wanting to leave. Can you leave these here so we can look at them together later?"

He wanted to make sure that Ruka was happy with his choices. This wasn't his apartment, even if he was staying here.

"Huh? Oh sure. Yes. Just call me when you've made a decision." The decorator smiled at them before picking up their bag and heading out of the apartment.

Ruka finally snapped out of his daze and he blinked, "Huh? Where did the decorator go?" He looked at the table then at Daisuike looking very confused. When it finally sunk in he blushed, "Oh, um, sorry. I was just thinking of some other things. Did you want to come with me on my errand or stay here?"

Daisuike looked away not sure why it hurt that Ruka hadn't listened to anything he'd been saying. He must have been completely bored with the whole thing and it made Daisuike feel bad. Maybe this wasn't a good idea.

"I can . . . if you want me to. I don't have to go with you if you don't want me to."

Seeing the hurt expression on Daisuike's face he sighed. He was just messing everything up lately wasn't he. Running a hand through his hair he gripped it lightly before releasing it. Sono was going to get sick from getting calls from Ruka if things kept happening. He hoped Sono didn't block his number or ignore his calls. He’d just never been this usure before, he was desperate to make sure Daisuike was happy and comfortable and so far he felt like he was failing.

"If you want to come, then I would like you to come. If you want to rest that's perfectly fine as well." He smiled softly at Daisuike trying to figure out why he was messing up so much lately.

Daisuike glanced up at him. "I would like to go with you if that's alright."

He had no idea where they were going and realized he couldn't care less. He just wanted to spend time with Ruka. That and if he was alone it would give him too much time to think and that might end up badly.

"Maybe you can tell me what you don't want changed about the apartment so I don't screw something up?"

Ruka raised an eyebrow at Suke helping him up as they moved to put their shoes on.

"Just don't change my mattress. I love that mattress. You got a free go on everything else. I want you to design it for me." He smiled at Daisuike as he finished putting his shoes on.

"I like the idea of you completely re-doing it how you think it would be better. Gives me a thrill." Leaning over he gave him a small kiss on the cheek, "I doubt you can screw it up."

Daisuike tried to hide the blush wondering how Ruka managed to make him feel like that over something like decorating. It was nice to know that he was trusted though. It made him feel wanted and not for the usual reason either.

"So where are we going?"

Ruka smirked at him as they headed down to the garage to get his car. "Secret~" He grinned slipping into his car. As he buckled up he glanced at Daisuike who was also buckling up.

"After these errands do you want dinner? We can go anywhere you want. Any food, anything. You name it." Ruka was almost a little desperate to please Suke and he hoped spending time together helped fix whatever he was doing wrong. Taking off he kept the speed a bit slower than normal not sure how Suke felt about the speed, especially hurt still.

"Will you let me cook dinner? Just something simple." He added before Ruka could protest. "It's not that difficult to cook, seriously. It's just the standing for a long time that gets to me. Though I hope that doesn't last too long. We could go by the open air market on the way back . . . if that's alright?"

"Sure." Ruka smiled. Anything to make him happy. He'd let him cook all he wanted as long as he seemed fine. "Just you gotta show me what to do in case you need to sit for a while okay? I promise I won't burn anything."

It felt odd though. They both were trying so hard for something he wasn't even sure about. Something had changed and it hurt worse than anything Ruka could imagine.

Turning towards a business district he pulled up to the garage. Unbuckling he smiled at Daisuike. "We're here."

"Ruka-kun!"

"Hoshi." Ruka smiled at the trim but powerful looking man who was striding toward them in grease stained coveralls.

"I see you brought a friend. Is he a new racer?"

"No, he's my boyfriend. Daisuike meet Hoshi. Hoshi, Daisuike."

"Nice to meet you." Daisuike bowed slightly hoping that his face wasn't too red. Every time Ruka called him that it sent a thrill through him. Of all the places he thought they might be going this hadn't entered his mind. Though now that he thought about it, it should have. Ruka obviously loved speed. Daisuike wrinkled his nose a bit at the sharp smell of oil and other fluids associated with cars. Haru was the mechanical one in their family. Daisuike had never liked getting that dirty. Oil just would not come out of clothes very easily. Neither did blood, but it was a lot easier to get out.

"Nice to meet you too. Hope you're taking care of my Ruka-kun. He's my best customer and the best driver I know."

"Oh shut up old man."

"I am NOT old!" Hoshi growled, "Be nice or you don't get your car."

"So it's ready!?" Ruka was excited and basically unable to hold still.

"Yeah, come on." Waving them over he lead them towards a back area. There sat a dark silver Nissan GT-R.

"My god it's beautiful!" Ruka rushed over to it. "It's amazing!"

"Yup. 780 horsepower, nitro injection, spring trap plates, re-enforcer bars along the sides and top, and all of the necessities you'd need normally."

"Seriously?" He turned to look at Hoshi a look of shock on his face, "That's amazing."

"There are also a few other additions I don't think mentioning in public would be wise to do. But you know what they are."

"Yeah. . ." Opening the car up he slipped inside grinning happily as he checked it over.

Daisuike sighed feeling totally and completely useless and out of his element. Hoshi could have been speaking greek for all he understood the terms he'd rattled off. Maybe this was how Ruka had felt earlier back at the house.

It did make him happy to see Ruka so excited. Something had seemed off with him all day and Daisuike wasn't sure what was going on or how to fix it. Hopefully this helped at least a bit. He loved to see that beautiful smile on Ruka's face and would give anything to keep it there.

He walked toward the car, careful not to touch anything. The car itself was like something out of a racing magazine. Sleek and beautiful and somehow totally reminded him of Ruka. He stood back out of the way just watching glad he could be with Ruka.

"Get in Daisuike." He smiled happily for a moment shifting all the way into the car. Slamming the door shut he leaned out the open window of the car looking at Hoshi.

"Can I take it for a spin?"

"Of course. Are you going to drift? Because if so-"

"No, I already told you Hoshi, I don't really care for drifting that much. . . Daisuike might pass out if I drifted anyways." He threw a grin at his lover before slipping back in and putting the harness on.

"Come on, hop in. We'll take it for a test spin."

Daisuike looked over at Hoshi, not really sure he wanted to get in, but he couldn't refuse when Ruka was looking at him like that.

"An-ano . . . ok." He opened the other door and gingerly got in trying to figure out the harness. "I would not pass out. I might not be happy, but I wouldn't pass out."

Undoing his own harness he leaned over latching Suke in for him. Unable to withhold himself he kissed him hard on the lips, his excitement pouring out. Breaking the kiss he laughed happily going back to latch himself in.

"So that mean you'll drift?"

". . . Umm. . . We'll see?" Ruka looked at Daisuike unsure. How would he react if he drifted a corner or two?

"Opening the doors." Ruka grinned watching Hoshi go to the garage doors opening them.

"Ah! The keys! I need the keys!" Ruka was bouncing as much as he could looking for them.

"In it already. Idiot." Hoshi sighed moving outside as he grabbed his camcorder. If Ruka drifted he wanted it on film.

"Oh. . ." Turning the key he shuddered hearing the engine turn over settling into a throaty growl that seemed to vibrate into his bones. "This will be fun. I promise." Starting out slow he pulled out of the garage and looked around.

"Go left first."

"Roger!" Pulling out of the shadow of the building he glanced at Daisuike, "You ready?"

Daisuike nodded still breathless from the kiss. He wasn't sure he was ready, or if he would ever be ready, but he wanted to share this with Ruka. He wanted to be part of his life and this was a big part of Ruka's life so he needed to get used to it at least. There was no way he was going to stop Ruka from doing something he so obviously enjoyed.

With an almost manically grin Ruka got it ready then slammed his foot against the gas pedal loving the sudden jerk of the car as they sped off. Instantly he shifted gears weaving through the cones that were set up along the road as replacements for cars. It was a good thing Hoshi owned this whole area or else they'd never get to try the cars.

Laughing a bit he turned the corner shifting once again seeing the completely straight stretch of road. Perfect. Now to test the speed. With a quick glance at Daisuike he reached over patting his hand right before he shifted once again loving the feel the speed was giving him.

Daisuike finally opened his eyes as Ruka patted his hand. His heart was pounding so hard it felt like it was trying to leap out of his chest. He glanced over at the instrument panel. There were so many gauges it took him a moment to realize just how fast they were going. Maybe not knowing was better.

Every time Ruka shifted it would press him back into the seat and he was glad he had the harness on. It gave him a slight sense of safety. Though he was definitely going to need his pain medication when they stopped. He just wanted this to be over as soon as possible.

Ruka smiled shifting the gear once more glancing down for a split second. 120. That's okay for now. Suke looked ready to pass out and he'd test to see if he could hit 190 later. Seeing the way Suke was clenching his hand he couldn't help but slow down, but that just made him want to drift.

Biting his lip he looked at Suke, "Sorry about this but I gotta try it." He couldn't resist the urge to spin the car back around taking back down the street they had just come down, drifting along it. Even if he said he hated drifting, it was fun for him. It took skill and the perfect mixture of everything to make it work and not crash and the danger just made it even more exhilarating.

"Ruka!" Daisuike grabbed for anything he could, panicked as everything suddenly seemed to slide out of control.
