~:STORY:~
Mel led the way and brought them to the bar's back door where a scary looking man was positioned, blocking its entrance.
Creoso, mellon en amin. Mankoi naa lle sinome?” The man growled out when he saw the group. (Welcome, my friend. Why are you here?)
“Lle tula salkuva tuulo' dome tenna' anoron” Mel answered in elvish. (We come to dance from night 'til dawn.)
The grim looking man bowed and stepped aside to let them enter. A large tube like passageway led them to the main entrance of what was suppose to be the ballroom. A uniformed man with pointed ears and peacock mask welcomed them.
“Wear your masks please.” the elf directed.
Savyn handed Mel his mask as she wore hers while Thom rummaged his from his cloak's hidden pocket and put it in place. The elf opened the huge doors and let them in.
The establishment was more like a club than a ballroom. Djs were playing electronic dance music while multiple strobe and laser lights bathed the masked guests in their bright outfits dancing skin to skin on the dance floor . Some, almost nude people in slave costumes were serving drinks. What was surprising though was the people themselves. They were obviously from different races, varying from giants, fae, elven and dwarven races, with only very few humans intermixed.
Thom looked at his companions' faces. They did not look surprised like he did. They obviously had been there before.
Another uniformed elf who obviously knew Mel and Savyn appeared in front of the group, bowing.
Vedui, Mellon en amin. (Greetings, my friends.) Reservations for Lord Nathaniel Xiuh right this way.” The elf informed them, rapidly switching from Elven to English. They followed him to a flight of stairs which led to the VIP rooms. He ushered them into one of the room that overlooked the main dance floor, carefully adjusting the dimmer lights and giving Mel the key card to the room.
“Dragonlord Xiuh will be here shortly.” The elf said before he left them.
The room was like a mini hotel suite, with a sofa set, a comfort room, mini bar, LCD monitor/TV, even a bed was there. . There were speakers attached to the ceiling, allowing the dance music from outside to permeate the room. A really large tinted glass window that encompassed the whole wall facing the dance floor treated the group with the sight of the swaying and dipping bodies of the dancers as they enjoyed themselves in the music. It was a perfect observatory.
Sav, Mel and Samandiriel headed to the mini bar, squabbling over what drinks to prepare. Thom on the other hand, took off his cloak and let it hang on one of the armchairs. He sat on the sofa, draping his arms and resting his head on the headrest. He stared at the ceiling, his mind wandering away. He had felt dazed ever since they entered that little door at the back of Bar Shee. It was unnerving understanding the elven tongue without even hearing it until today. The meaning of the elven words came naturally to him like it was instilled in his soul, although he cannot yet speak it. He had read about how elven speech works and was not surprised, but knowing how it is and actually experience it happening were two different things. Thom was however thankful that he was informed about elven mind speech before he was exposed to it because he would have died in shock if he hadn't.
A knock sounded from the door. Mel came over and peeked through the peephole. He gave a little scream and hastily flung the door open. A 6 foot 2 black haired masked elf stood on the threshold, a grin splitting his beardless face as Mel's slightly smaller form jumped him. There lips collided and they were kissing each other like there was no tomorrow, not bothering to take off their masks first.. Samandiriel looked amused at their passionate display, while Sav looked curious and interested. She had never seen two men kiss before and now that she has, she thought it looked really hot. Her little brother though was not of similar mind. He was blushing like a tomato and had averted his attention away from the two smoochers.
“Ahem...” A familiar voice teased behind the kissing couple. “Could you take that to the bed and let me pass?”
Mel and his lover broke their embrace, their face flushing as they realized what they had done. They stepped away from the doorway and let a black clad Nathan in. Mel, after gaining back her voice started to talk.
“Hey guys, this is my hunny, Cinnead.” he introduced the dark haired fellow. “That's Sav..and I think you know this guy here...” He pointed at Samandiriel who came forward and gave Mel's hunny a thump on the shoulder. They were both grinning and were fondly calling each other names.
“That's Thom.” Mel's voice boomed over their loud teasing. The laughter evaporated as Cinnead's blue eyes, the same shade as Thom's hovered on the sitting figure of the boy.
“Hi there, little man.” the tall elf said to the boy and strode towards him, suddenly encompassed him into a hug as the boy got on his feet to acknowledge the elf properly. The hug was backbreaking and long, like something you would give someone you cared for and haven't seen for a long time. And everyone knew that it was more than a form of welcome or greeting for the older elf, except for the boy who because he was feeling a bit off and dazed, didn't notice the emotion in that act. The atmosphere was broken when someone cleared his throat.
After the introductions, Mel and Sav went back to the mini-bar while Samadiriel came up to Nathan, whispered something to him and punched him on the shoulders. Nathan gave a little yelp and punched back. This went on until Cinnead entered the quasi fight with a pillow on his hands, bashing their heads both with his weapon. The two victims dove for the bed, scrambling for the remaining pillows, and thumped Cinnead back. They finally ended on the floor, laughing their asses off as the feathers from the broken pillows floated and scattered in the room.. Thankfully no one came to their room to complain about the noise.
Thom was back on the sofa again. He looked at the three rumpled looking guys lying on the carpeted floor, laughing to himself as he saw them blowing the feathers away from their faces. At that moment, they looked like little kids, not strong grown up men. His gaze examined them one by one, and lastly resting on Nathan.
Nathan was dressed all in black, including his overcoat that looked like a really good imitation of Neo's costume in The Matrix. Thom couldn't take his eyes off him. Nathan looked good enough to eat...or kiss. Thom's eyes widened in horror as thoughts of him and Nathan kissing popped in his head. He glanced briefly at the other people, and was relieved when he saw that their attention was engaged to something else. He hoped no one can read minds because his imagination was running wild. He tried to tell himself that he wasn't attracted to Nathan, but only appreciated his looks as any normal person did.
'Keep on fooling yourself, Thom. You've been doing that for a while now.' a voice in his head said to him. He brushed it off as Sav announced she was going down to the dance floor to have some fun. He was going to have fun tonight and not think of Nathan anymore. Thom stood up and followed Sav out of the door, not noticing the crimson eyes following his departure.
