“Kitten!” It was Rami’s turn to wake in a start. Immediate pain made him turn over, falling from the bed. “Kitten..no.” He panted. “Have to get to her.”

“Calm down.” Leon helped him to stand. “Calm down, son.”

“Kitten she..I can’t feel her. Something is wrong.” He pulled away and looked at his hands. “We have to get to her!”

“The effects will be over soon.” Abdel limped in. “Trust me on this.”

“Effects?” Rami looked up. “That’s why I can’t...feel her?”

“What are you two on about?” They told Leon about their relationship. They told him what happened between them but they forgot to mention the Genie part. “What Effects?” Leon asked. “Feel her? Are you on some psychic link with her?”

“The effects of the mist. And he probably has that lovers connection with her.” Abdel smiled. He wasn’t going to reveal secrets. “I believe Akhbar was the last to have her.”

“Then we ride, now.” Leon walked past them. “He is not going to get away with this.”

“Hm..” Rami gave Abdel a suspicious look as he followed Leon. “As soon as that smoke clears, I am going to find her, no matter what it reveals.” he mouthed to Abdel.

“I would expect no less.” Abdel mouthed, following the two.

“Badawi! Lets go! You others rest here. We will return.” Leon mounted a horse. “We will ride quicker if it is just the four of us.”

“Be careful.” One of his men spoke.

“We will.” Badawi handed the other reigns to Abdel and Rami. “Lets hurry. Akhbar is known to have a cave to the north of here.”

“let me go!” Kitten pulled away from Aziz. “I would rather die than be here.”

“You are not my problem, yet. But I can arrange the tongue thing when you do become my problem.” Aziz closed the door on her.

“You’re here...” Bruhier was there, waiting. “ Kitten...”

“Bruhier..” She turned in time to jump away from his hand. “You...You..Gods..I am such an idiot.” Grunting, Kitten fell to her knees. “Yeah, he told me right out. I do this for my son..blah, blah. Next time pay attention.”

“You aren’t an idiot.” He knelt in front of her. “You are beautiful.”

“This nice thing is a little creepy coming from you.” He was never this nice to her. Kitten scooted back until she backed into the wall. “Just let me go. I am promised to Rami.”

“Really? And have you slept with him yet?”

“No..but we are really close to it.” Like he needed to know that? Kitten shook her head and slapped at his hand. “Don’t touch me.”

“So he has seen you naked? He has kissed you? And yet..he has not taken you for his? To me, almost..would have become a most certainly.”

“Good thing I am not going to be with you then, huh?”

“Kitten..he is a camel herder. I am a prince. I can give you everything. Just promise to be mine.”

“Right, like I believe that.” His hand was on her cheek. He had her backed into a corner. “Go away.” Kitten grabbed his wrist and pulled. “Don’t touch me.”

“Will you stop, please?” Bruhier sighed. “I am trying to treat you as you deserve but you are not giving me much of an option.”

“You could and would never treat a girl right. You...You treat women like slaves. You marry five..ten or fifteen women and the...stick em in a room and call them a Harem!” Gasping, she hit the wall with the back of her head as she pulled away. His face was right in front of her. “Let me go. I love Rami. And he..he isn’t just a camel herder. He is more special than that. He loves me back.” Tears were starting to fall. “He will come for me. You will regret it if you touch me.”

“For one...I will not be marrying fifteen women. I am only going to have you. I made a promise tot my father, when I asked him to retrieve you, that I would not. I also said I would treat you right. No abuse...What more can you ask from me?” leaning closer to her. He could feel her breaths upon his lips. “And for two...let him come. He will see that you deserve to be a princess.”

“No...” She closed her eyes and looked away in time so that he kissed her cheek. “Let me go..I don’t want you.”

“But I am all you will have.” Bruhier nuzzled against her cheek and neck. “You are mine.” Her scent, it was intoxicating. “I will be your first. I will show you that I mean what I say.” His arms wrapped around her and he pulled her against him. “Together..we will ride back to the palace tomorrow and we will have a real wedding. I will even show you further proof by not taking you until the wedding night.”

“Rami!” Kitten burst into tears. Why wasn’t he here? “Please..just stop.” She pushed and tried to get away from him but he wasn’t letting her go. “Let me go.”

“No, no...no.” Her actions only made him hold her tighter. “You’re mine and I am yours.”

Bruhier stood slowly, cradling her in his arms. Kitten’s determination and will were getting pretty drained. This was all too much. Where was he? Rami was magic, wasn’t he? It was real, wasn’t it? He wasn’t just a dream. It wasn’t a dream, although right now, she wished it was. Because if it was, she wouldn’t be forced to be with and or cuddle Bruhier.

Meanwhile

“Kitten!” Rami coughed rather hard. He clenched his chest, growling. “No, No! Kitten!”

“Uh..” Leon pulled his horse to a halt. “Rami?”

“Stay back.” Abdel told Badawi and Leon.

“Kitten!!” He heard her. Her cries to him, he heard them. “No!!!”

Rami’s body started to rise from the horse. Leon’s jaw dropped, as did Badawi’s. There might have been a few details that Kitten l eft out, he was thinking. Abdel smiled and watched Rami. No magic in the world could combat the honest love between Kitten and Rami. Not even a magic brewed powder to render one powerless. Rami was fighting it and he knew it.

“Rami!!” The words of Kitten echoed into the air.

“Kitten!” Leon sat up straight and looked around. “What is happening?!”

“True love and the birth of a Jin.” Abdel replied.

Jin’s were not evil Genie’s. They were truly free Genies that had full and total use of their powers whenever and however they wanted to use them. They could kill someone. They could make a love spell. They could even bring the dead back to the land of the living.

“A what?”

Both Badawi and Leon said it.

“A Jin. The heart is the most powerful magic any can possess and right now, some one else possesses his. He is going to get her back.” Abdel smiled still.

“Kitten!” Rami shot upwards into the air like a rocket. The power of ages filled him. “I will save her!”

His scream echoed ,just as Kitten’s had, on the air. And inside the Inn room they heard it. Kitten was dropped onto the bed by Bruhier. She smiled hearing Rami call for her.

“Rami!” her hope was being renewed.

“What is this?!” Bruhier turned around, looking at the door. “How is he..where is he?”

“You better let me go. I promise you that you will not like it if he has to come in here and break me free from you.”

“What are you talking about?! He is a camel herder!” The prince yelled.

“And you’re scared. I can see it in your eyes.” She sat up, slowly. “If you meant what you said about trying to treat me right, then let me go. I am not yours. My heart belongs to Rami.”

“N..no! Don’t you see? You..belong beside me. You would be a beautiful princess. You will be revered by the people. You can not have this with him.”

“I don’t want that.” She scooted towards the window, which was open and on the upper floors. “I want Rami. I only need his love and my father’s love.”

“What are you doing? Kitten, stop! You will fall!”

“And he will catch me. He is coming for me right now.” Kitten made a dash for the window. “Rami!”

“No, Kitten!” Bruhier reached out to catch her hand as she jumped, but missed. “No!”

He wasn’t seeing this. She hadn’t just gone crazy and jumped, did she? Bruhier panted hard, looking at her falling figure. To his amazement, silver streaked where her body was. When he looked again, she was not there?

“Kitten?” Bruhier looked up to the sky. “N..no...” His words lost sound.

“Rami..” She was in his arms and she was kissing him deeply.

Rami floated there, before the window. He held her against him and very gladly returned the kiss. He felt complete with her beside him. She was his better side. He was hers. Bruhier fell to his knees on the balcony, watching the two fade away into nothingness. How was this possible?

“Son!” Aziz burst through the locked door, finally. “Bruhier?”

“She...is gone.”

“You LET her jump?!” The Sultan was furious.

“No...I didn’t. She jumped and he ...it..Caught her.” Bruhier was tripping over his own words.

“What are you talking about? She jumped and she was caught?”

Aziz walked out onto the balcony and looked down. There was no body below. What on Earth was he mumbling about? Bruhier, meanwhile, continued to stare into the blank blackness of the night sky. What he saw would forever replay in his mind.

And back in Rami’s arms.

“Rami...you saved me.” She caressed his cheek. “I almost...thought you would not come.”

“No, never. I will never not come for you.” The softness of the flying carpet moved under them now. Rami cradled her into his arms. His tears fell freely. “I couldn’t feel you and my heart died inside.”

“Rami...”

“No...Kitten. I did. I died inside when I couldn’t feel you. Then..there was a goddess’s voice. She called to me. I felt her need for me and...my heart was whole again. An incredible warmth filled me and it brought me to you. I broke through the dark prison that was keeping me away from you. I had to hold you again. You are my life. I would die if I knew I could never share another breath with you.”

“I felt the same. He was holding me and trying to touch my cheek. It felt so wrong.” She hugged him tighter. “I was losing hope. I could feel it but then...I remembered you and our promise. When you make me your wife, you will have me completely. So I called for you and you came. You came to save me.”

“I love you, Kitten.”

“I love you, Rami.” She kissed his tears away. “More than anything.”

“Good, now..we get back to your father and the others. Then tomorrow..I will begin payback for taking you away from me.”

“You’re going to attack them?”

“No, but I am going to show them why they should not attack your father and take away the woman I love.” He cradled her. “Do not worry. I am not going to let revenge take over my thoughts. I am curious though. How did the sultan take you from Akhbar? He does not seem like the type to be able to do that.”

“Because he didn’t. Some creepy man did. He hissed like a snake and used magic like you did. It was just one person, I think. But he referred to him self as we. And he pulled me through a solid cave wall.”

“Hissed like a snake and used magic like me?” Rami nodded. “Did you ever see his face?”

“No...he kept it covered. But he did say he killed one of Akkbars men. That is, I assume he did. He said he now serves the gods.”

“This gives reason for concern if this stranger is what I think he is. Their creation was banned amongst the elder gods long before I was even born unto magic.” Rami had to ponder how the sultan still lived if this was the case. These creatures did not serve anyone.

“What do you mean?” Kitten was more than a little worried if Rami was concerned. “He was paid by the sultan. There was another one, I think. When he dragged me into the room, I saw another completely covered figure.”

“His servant. One master, one servant. They are the same creatures but the master is immensely more powerful. The servant is probably the one that dealt the killing blow to Akhbar’s man. The other concentrated on getting you.”

“They should leave us alone, now.”

“No, they won’t. I have a feeling that, if the sultan hired them once, he will hire them again.” Rami smiled as he kissed her. “We will have to work out a way to eliminate the problem is all.”

“You make it sound simple when it isn’t.” Sighing, she laid she head against his chest. “I think there is more problems that make all of this less than simple.”

“That just means I will have to always have my arms around you.”

“That wouldn’t be so bad.” She nipped at his neck side. “You, always holding me? Can handle that.”

“Oh...your father knows about me now. “ The thought hit him. “Revealing what I was, it was the last thing on my mind. Rescuing you was all that I cared about.”

“That just means he will have some questions for us when we get back is all. My dad likes you. The fact that you are a Genie, this will not matter to him.”

“I am not a Genie anymore though. I have transcended to Jin. Somehow, you helped me to become so.” Rami smiled, kissing her quickly.

“You are still a genie. You are a free genie. But more than that, you are my Rami and I am never letting you go.” She kissed him now, only this time, it was a longer, more passionate kiss.

“Now you’ve gone and done it.” He whispered.

“Done what?” She grinned.

“This.”

The two faded from the rug. Her giggle danced on the air as they did. They might not have made love to each , yet but they came close as you get. This time would certainly be no different.
