Chapter Eight: Seeming Normal
The boys had to sleep in separate rooms that night, with Nagami being put into the guest room. Their excuse for their more-than-brotherly kiss had been… ‘It’s a twin thing’.
Jacob sighed heavily as he sat on his bed, wondering where he went wrong with raising them. Was it their mother’s death that drove them over the edge into sinners’ territory? “How the hell am I going to help them with this?” he frustratingly wondered aloud. His sons were committing incest, and he didn’t want anything to do with it. Perhaps his mother was right about them all along… No. No, they were still very good boys, just confused. That had to be it! With their hormones going all haywire, they must be confused. It was common knowledge that twins tend to be unnaturally closer to each other than anyone else, right? Right?

Kagami stared at the wall as he laid on his bed. He felt lonely tonight. Maybe it was simply because he wasn’t used to having a room all to himself… and he wasn’t happy about it. He felt a very strong urge to go and see his brother, to have Nagami comfort him, but that would just make their dad even more uncomfortable. It was the first time they had seen him so… furious. Even their grandmother couldn’t make him react that way!
There was nothing Kagami could do about it though, except wait until graduation. Then the two boys could make plans to move away together, and then be happy. Besides… wasn’t that what they were always promised? Their parents always said that they wanted them to be happy… so then why did their father…
Kagami’s eyes quickly darted to the door as it opened, and in stepped Nagami. The boy went over to his twin, kissing him softly, then whispering, “I couldn’t stay away.”
“If father catches you though…” Kagami quietly argued, keeping his voice low so as not to wake anyone.
“What is he going to do?” Nagami countered back. “Beat me? You know he’s not like that…”
“Yeah, but…” There was no use trying to change his mind now, so instead Kagami just slid over to the other side of his bed, allowing Nagami some room to come in and snuggle with him. “You know… Naga, this is wrong… on so many levels…”
“What’s your point?”
Any other complaints then melted away with Nagami’s gentle kisses. It was impossible to stop it now. Kagami sighed lightly as he started to kiss him back, still so light and soft. They were simple kisses, but held so much power behind them, so much emotion.
Nagami stopped himself before he almost couldn’t control it anymore. He really didn’t want to scare Kagami now, not when things were finally starting to go his way. Settling for just snuggling and cuddling, he smiled lightly at Kagami’s acceptance of his love. It felt so great to be able to hold him like this.

The next day, Monica chatted away with her brothers, and everything seemed normal. Their father had closely watched them though, silently wondering if it really was what they called a… ‘twin thing’, whatever that was.
Nagami caught his dad’s gaze once, and even smiled over at him. Things seemed… normal. Kagami started talking to Monica about health class, and how they were learning about what changes teens go through during puberty, and their father had to halt that particular conversation right there. “I think Monica is too young to hear about that,” he told his son.
“But it’s important for her to know for when it does happen, right?” Kagami asked. “Otherwise, she’d freak out when she gets her first --”
“I said she’s too young, Kagami.”
Nagami rolled his eyes. “You know, Dad, this would be so much easier if you had a woman around the house.” Everyone turned to look at him. “Well, it’s true.”
“You think Dad should start dating? Is that it?” questioned his brother. “What about Mother? Wouldn’t that be like betraying her?”
“Bro, I’m pretty sure she wouldn’t want him alone anymore.”
“Yeah, well… whatever…”
Monica just watched everyone, confused beyond belief. She really had no idea what Kagami was trying to explain to her, and she felt as though it must be important but bad since their father had stopped him from talking about it, and now Nagami was saying that their father should start dating women.
…
“I’m confused…” mumbled the poor little girl, but she wasn’t heard as the three guys in her life started arguing about something else altogether.
Oh yes… everything was perfectly normal after all…
(Soooo sorry for the lack of updating anything! Internet connection is horrible (it’ll cost $100 to fix x.x) and I was getting more and more into my art… And typing this chapter reminded me that I want to draw the twins and their sister… Yet, I still have drawing contests I want to enter, and the deadline for one of them is in less than a week x.x I might not do that one… I dunno… Apple ipad sounds kinda nice though… being part of the prize for first place… Meh… I don’t know…)
