Gay Means Happy!

You know, there aren’t enough boobs in this story. I should introduce Jessica soon, you think?
Naaaah, Matt’s girl enough to cover it. ;]

[Matt’s POV]

I’m smudging blue shimmery Revlon shadow over my eyelid, lashes delicately fluttering, when the doorbell rings. I jolt out of my make-up trance, one eye nearly done to absolute perfection and the other startlingly plain (which just will NOT do, at all!), and pad over to the door. I wonder who it could be- we haven’t met anyone out here yet, so maybe it’s a nosy neighbor? I’d really rather not eat anyone’s pies that they brought over out of kindness for the new peeps on town…

In front of the door there’s a hall mirror, which I stop at to rearrange my hair, placing a few bits of my bangs over the plain eye so it was less noticeable, and then opened the door with my clean hand. (Alex would kill me if I got my snazzy blue eyeshadow everywhere.)

When I see the gangly teen standing awkwardly there, hand poised to ring again, I’m suddenly glad I decided to fix my hair first. He’s the. Hottest. Thing. I have ever seen. Ever.

He has these adorable little multicolored bangs that fall over his eyes perfectly, and these really intense black eyes that stare down at me in shock, ringed in guyliner. All of a sudden, a blisteringly bright smile lights up his face and I begin to bite my perfect nails, unsure of what to do.

Ohmigod, there’s a stunningly hot guy who looks to be my age standing at my door. Thank you, Gay God.

“Hi, you must be Matt.”

He’s still smiling, and holy shit he knows my name! AAAAH, I’m about to pass out. I’m swooning already. Instead, I nod, smiling coyly. “Of course…” I make my voice as suave as possible, trying to inconspicuously rearrange my bangs so my makeup disaster isn’t seen. “And who might you be, handsome?”

He shuffles his feet, which are encased in lime green and black Nike dunks. They’re ugly, but somehow they suit his ensemble- black skinny jeans, a tight yellow ‘Blink and miss it’ shirt, and a few rainbow gel bracelets around one skinny, hairy arm. I notice that his teeth are slightly crooked- that’s okay. The flaws only serve to make him hotter, if it’s even possible.

“I’m Jason… One of Alex’s friends. Is he here?”

I instantly deflate. I think my shoulder slump and pout is noticeable, because Jason laughs at me and ruffles my hair gently, thankfully not moving my bangs much. I huff and cross my arms, glaring at him. How dare he touch my hair! How dare this hot piece of ass know my brother first! Damn my life.

“Of course Alex would get to your fine ass first. That’s just my luck. You know, he’s not even gay.” I open the door a bit more and move aside, motioning for Jason to step in. He shivers suddenly, scratching his neck uncomfortably.

“And what makes you think I’m gay?” he asks.

I shrug. “I dunno,” I pause and pull out a Newport, lighting it and slipping it between my lips, stalking back to the bathroom while waving my bare arms a bit. “But my gaydar’s impeccable, so don’t even bother trying to deny it.” He follows me, looking around, There are still a few boxes strewn around, but mostly everything’s been unpacked and put where it needs to be. He lingers around the family photos, leaning in to a picture of Alex and I last summer, before we moved, back when we still lived in a suburb outside of New York. Alex had ice cream on his nose, his whole face scrunched, and I had butterfly face paint on and was holding the camera awkwardly. There’d been a small fair at Central Park, and we’d gone to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. It was one of the more light-hearted pictures up there.

“Ahem,” I coughed, my face turning a cherry red at the boy staring so hard at my brother and I. When Jason turned to me slightly, I smiled. “Alex isn’t here right now- he went to get groceries. But he should be back soon, if you wanna wait here for him. Not like I’d mind…” I gave him a slow once over and winked before turning and strutting into the bathroom, picking up the eyeshadow.

I smiled at my reflection, smearing on a tiny bit more ‘ocean blue dazzle’, as Jason’s laugh faded into the living room.

---

“UNO, MOTHERFUCKERRRR!” I slapped down a green draw two card to the pile, my face aglow, and gave Jason a shitfaced grin as he drew two cards from the deck gloomily. He had about ten cards to get rid of now, and I only had one.

“Okay, your turn again.”

I placed the last card down gently, a wild draw four. He stared at me for a second, before I smiled.

“I win.”

He threw his cards down with a groan, shoving me with his bare foot under the table. I laughed, leaning back to avoid him as he grabbed for me. When he got up and started trying to tickle me, I got up and ran away squealing and giggling. Jason followed closely behind, chasing me around the table, the couch, into the kitchen, and finally coming to a standstill around the island. He tried to grab through the pots hanging there, but I grinned and feinted a left. Then a right.

We’d hit it off as soon as I’d come out of the bathroom. He’d been holding a stack of Uno cards and shuffling them, left there next to a bowl of animal crackers from when Alex and I had played last night before bed. After four games where I’d beat him every time, it had come to this.

I finally hung a sharp left and ran out of the kitchen, feeling his hands grab a hold of my side and tickle me briefly. I shrieked and ran into the hall--

Right into Alex. I looked up at him, red-faced and sweaty and panting, and grinned at him.

“Lexi-poo! Home already, huh? That pervert didn’t say anything to you, did he?!”

Alex just looked down at me, seemingly stunned. He had a few bags hanging from his wrists, and his hair was a little damp from the drizzle that had started up outside about half an hour ago. He looked behind my shoulder, and I turned to see Jason standing there, one hand on the kitchen doorway and the other in his pocket.

“What took you so long, Alex? Your bro’s been beating my ass at a kid’s card game for damn near an hour!” Jason grinned, and I turned back to Alex, smiling. But something was wrong…

Alex was frowning. But why? His friend was here… his really super freaking hawt friend who was totally gay for him. I guess this was the boy he’d been out with last night, too, so from what Alex told me he also liked Jason. Then again, that might have been the problem, since Alex had always considered himself straight- but somehow I didn’t think that was it.

Jason’s face fell, and I scowled at Alex. His eyes widened at me, and he gave me an innocent look that was half pleading, but I sure as hell was not having any of that!

So I nabbed the bags from Alex, and pushed him in the direction of the living room.

“Well, go on you two lovebirds. I’ll put these up, and then maybe I’ll join you.”

Or maybe I’d conveniently notice that my nail polish was chipped and run upstairs to give it a fresh pink coat.

Just maybe.

Alex shuffled his socked feet on the linoleum into the living room. Jason gave me a thankful look and I winked at him, giving him the double thumbs up and a sunny pink-glossed smile. He chuckled and turned to follow Alex as I went into the kitchen.

I decided then and there that I was going to do everything in my power to get those two together.

No matter what it took.

Yes, short as hell, sorry. But I love Matt! He’s such a devious little gayboy. :]

kylee: Thanks. I’m glad you got to read them all too. I hate waiting, so I know how you feel. Also, my word processor and Mozilla both say it is not a word. But I think it is, so ha. :] Also, Jason only wanted to scare little old Alex at first, but it was a true story. It got real serious real fast, as you may have noticed.

Cat: Ha ha, it’s cool. Thanks for finally reading it. Here’s the new chapter, hope you like it.

Dekorx ao: I know, finally, after seven damn chapters.

Lisa: Autumn technically begins in September, but pretty much everyone I know refers to August as fall. was waiting for someone to catch that, good job. I’m not changing it, because it’s a mistake in his thoughts that was put in there intentionally. Most people think of August as fall, so does Jason. :] Alex says summer somewhere, I can’t recall. But he’s OCD, in case no one’s noticed. So that’s the story behind that.
Yet again, you caught the fact that Brooks is a former soap opera actor’s name (Darin Brooks, whom my other character Deryn was also named after lol), but I would like you to tell me exactly where the other name is because I scoured this and cannot find it! I hate inconsistencies. But to explain, this started out as a My Chemical Romance fanfic, then was an All Time Low fanfic, and now is simply an original fic. :] So please tell me if I miss any names.

Carrie: Mmm, brownies- the way to a writer’s heart. Two chapters today for you!

crazeme: Thanks very muchness. :D
