So, a week ago, something big happened… another guy wants to move in. And he’s even trying to get me kicked out! Nick and Takeru declined him at first, but then we found out that he makes so much more money than I do and can pay the rent easier and have a lot left over for partying and stuff. He is more of a tough guy than I am, and doesn’t need Nick or Takeru to stand up for him or anything. The guy has even been following me around, probably to pinpoint my weaknesses!
I pout as I stare at the customers we have today. Millie is just as friendly as ever, chitchatting with her friends that come in daily. The bell chimes, alerting us to another customer, and I just stare at him. It’s that new guy! “Hello,” he says to Millie. “I’m looking for a guy named Alec. Does he work here?”
“I don’t think so,” she tells him, and he glances over at me.
“Um, hello,” I greet him, feeling ultra nervous now.
“… You know, miss, you look a lot like him. Is he your twin?”
“N-no, I don’t have any brothers.”
“What’s your name?”
“Uhhh…”
“Her name is Nana,” Millie tells him, and makes me wish I had been working alone today. “She has a sister named Crissy, but no brothers.”
“Ah, I see…” He holds out his hand to me, and I take it, thinking he wants to shake. Instead, he leans his head down and kisses it. “My name is Lucas, such a pleasure to meet such a cute girl.” He grins at me, and I just stare back at him, wide-eyed. “Would you like to maybe… go on a date with me tonight?”
“Oh, say yes, Nana; you might not get another chance,” I hear Millie comment.
I’m not sure about it though. Nick and Takeru are expecting Alec to return home right after work… and with my luck Lucas will stick around until I get off. “I don’t think I wanna go on a date with someone I just met,” I say.
“Please? You’re too beautiful to live without…”
“No.”
Millie gives me a strange look, and turns back to Lucas. “She’s just a little shy.”
“I am not shy, Millie! I just don’t wanna go out with him.”
“Your expectations are way too high, girl,” she argues.
“Argh, it’s not that! I just… um…”
“Just what?” Lucas butts in, grinning at me.
I give him an angry look and state, “I’m already in love with someone else!”
I don’t even realize what I said until a moment later. Both Millie and Lucas give me strange looks, and I end up looking down in embarrassment. I can feel the eyes of all the customers on me too. Oh my god…

I finally get home later that night, and Nick hurries over to the door to see me. “Finally…” He lets out a relieved sigh as he sits down on a chair. I look over at Takeru, hoping he can tell me what’s going on. “Nick was getting worried sick over you not being home on time,” he explains.
“Ah… why?” I ask.
“Because something could have happened,” comes Nicky’s reply. He looks up at me. “That freak could have come back…”
I cross my arms and pout at him. “Well, he didn’t.”
After a few more minutes, Takeru looks at me and asks, “Did Lucas try visiting you at work today?”
“Huh?”
Nick rolls his eyes. “He didn’t go to Alec’s workplace, remember? He found some chick that looks like him instead.”
I feel frozen. So Lucas told them about that, did he? Greeaat…
“Still… many have called Alec a girl before, right?” Takeru’s not gonna let this rest now. I can feel it…
“Yeah, so what?” counters Nick. “We know he’s a he.”
“Do we?” Both guys look over at me then. They both look so calm about all this. I feel really scared though. I can’t let them figure it out now. I’m actually… having fun living here with them. I don’t want to be kicked after all that has happened. It’s way too soon!
Someone knocks on the door behind me, and I move away so that someone else can get it. Takeru gets the hint and answers the door, and there we see Lucas himself. He has this smug look on his face. “Hey, guys.” He lightly smiles at everyone. “So, when can I move in?”
… Am I really being kicked out?
