Under normal circumstances, Aziz would never have dared to walk down the dirty streets that he was traveling now. But, these weren’t normal circumstances. He needed special assistance, and this was the place to find what, and who, he needed. He stepped inside the dimly lit building, letting his eyes adjust to the dark interior before heading to an empty table. Somewhere, in this room, was what he was looking for. Men with special talents that he needed to employ to procure what was needed.

“Stranger.” A Man looked over at him. “What brings the rich here to our world?” A hiss was heard.

“I am looking for something. Someone, actually.” Aziz sat calmly, not looking at anyone in particular or singling anyone out. “I have… work… that requires special talents, and am looking to have someone that wishes to get it done and will be well compensated for their efforts.”

“We seee.” The figure disappeared towards the back. The smooth sway of his walk was strangely hypnotizing. “Imad..” The words whispered in their hiss. “You have...visitor.”

Aziz waited quietly. He would say nothing specific until he was quite certain that he had the best man available. And he had taken the necessary precaution of not bringing anything of value with him, just in case. He glanced up, waiting for Imad to emerge.

“Aziz....we meet again.” Another cloaked figure emerged. “What is your dilemma this time?”

“You have changed since last time. Suppose that is necessary in your work,” Aziz nodded, indicating the seat in front of him. “I am in need of someone. Well, my son is, though I wouldn’t mind having her for myself. Though there is a bit of a problem, as I can not simply take her. It is a situation that requires a bit of delicacy.”

“An Extraction? From whom? And what are the problems that keep you from sending normal men? Creatures of dark?” Imad brought his hood down. He looked mostly human, except for the dark tribal snake tattoos across his face and well, there was his slit eyes.

“An American trader, who is my invited guest and prospective business partner.” Aziz leaned back, keeping his voice low. “He has a daughter, a most exquisite thing. Which is why I can not use more conventional means. And there might be another problem. I believe that there are others who are after her as well.”

“That does pose a problem. I can get her...however the price is high and I require her scent.”Imad smile, his forked tongue showing.

“I can arrange that, I believe. It will take a little time, but I will get it.” Aziz looked pointedly at him. “And price is no object.” There was nothing he wouldn’t do for his son, and should he fail to meet the arrangement, then it would be worth whatever the cost to have her for himself. “And she must be unspoiled when she is delivered. Beyond anything that has happened before now, no one else is to touch her.” She was a young American, she was bound to be no longer completely pure. Though if she were, well, so much the better.

“Done. Twice the usual and I will have her. Deliver the scent soon.” Imad moved away. “Give it to the other you saw. I will have her with in a week from the scent you give me. Half the money should be delivered along with the scent.”

Aziz nodded, watching Imad head back onto the back room. He stood, heading back. Somewhere, he knew there was something that she had touched or worn that he could easily get. If possible, he would deliver it before the night was over.

“My father should be getting here soon.” Kitten looked around. “He said in a few days.”

“They were on a little slower transport than us. Do remember this.” Rami reminded her.

Across the open market, Akhbar watched the two. “See, I told you that he was no ordinary merchant. We would be halfway across the desert if we had acted like he was a regular merchant.”

“Yes.” Baquir nodded. “There is something strange about this Rami character.”

“Kitten!” Rami moved after her. “You must stay with me.” Grabbing her hand, he pulled her into a hug. “I would get lonely.”

“Rami.” Kitten giggled. “Can I have a kiss?”

“Of course.” Rami leaned down, kissing her softly.

“Yes, there is. We must see to it that he does not interfere with our plans any further.” Akhbar looked at Baquir. “We need to find some way of removing him completely. I do not like him in the least. He is… upsetting.” He glared at Rami, defiling his lovely gem of a prize with his very presence. Soon enough, that would be remedied.

“I believe I can work something up. It will take me a day to gather supplies but..I can put a stop to his medaling.” Baquir smirked.

“Rami!” Kitten laughed as she was swept up into his arms. The smile on her face was priceless. “I love you.” She stroked his cheek softly while he cradled her.

“And I you.” He whispered. Rami smiled, kissing her again. “More than a thousand stars and moons. More than the sun. More than anything you could ever name.” He nibbled along her ear making her giggle even more.

“Bah, he sickens me with his actions.” Akhbar shook his head. “I can not stand the sight of this any longer. Let us leave, and gather the others. We wait until nightfall, and will make our move to gain her from him. Though, it would not bother me if anything were to happen to him in the process.” He turned, heading away from the two. If he had to watch them any longer, he would have drawn his scimitar and taken care of him then and there.

“Of course, sir.” Baquir nodded. “We will keep track on them and get the items I need.”

“Right, volunteer me.” Basel shook his head.

“Oh!” Kitten laughed, being spun around. “Where are we going?”

“Back to the room to wait.” Rami answered.

“I can handle that.” She grinned, kissing him quickly.

“I don’t think she is quite pure.” Basel glanced at Akhbar. “Brother?” He looked very tense.

“It is both a blessing and a curse. I shall only need to teach her certain things, perhaps re-teach a few others.” Akhbar glanced at Basel. “Though he will of course pay for what he has done. See to it that he suffers terribly so.” He turned and left hurriedly, before he did as he so desired to do. Now wasn’t the time to act, they would have to wail until they were certain there would be no outside interference, and no one to witness what happened.

“Interesting.” The snake eyes watched from afar. “We shall let the bandits battle the magic one. Then we shall take the prize.”

He nodded to him self before he slithered away. His cloak covered him for the most part but some were unfortunate enough to see his eyes.

“We are here!” Leon motioned the others to follow. “I hope Kitten and Rami are as well.”

“I believe they are. Those are their horses at the small inn.” Badawi pointed. “But the air...it feels..strange.”

“Strange is putting it lightly, Mr. Badawi,” Abdel said. He stood in the middle of the group. There was something here that bespoke of foul deeds, and something that if great care were taken, could be effective against even him. There was definitely magics about, though the presence of the others would serve to hide his presence from anyone discovering his true nature. “Shall we head to the inn and check on them?”

“Yes.” Leon hurried his horse along. “I hope they have come through the quick travel okay.”

“I..think they have.” Badawi dismounted, tying his camel to the post. “Maybe we should ..”

“Daddy!” Leon was practically pounced as he got off his horse. “Your safe. I’m so glad.”

“You are a bundle of energy. The trip didn’t effect you, it seems.” Leon hugged her, chuckling.

“Daddy..I want to talk to you, alone, with Rami.” She waved at the others before pulling him off. “Rest up! We will see you in a bit!”

“I smell love from that one.” Badawi glanced at Abdel, “Hm?”

“I would have to agree.” Abdel answered.

8888888888888888888

“You what?” Leon asked in surprise. “You um..You are involved?”

“Daddy..” Kitten held Rami’s hand. “You saw it way before. I..we..” She sighed. “There is a lot more. I have to tell you something else.”

“What?” Leon raised a brow. “Tell.” He leaned down.

“Well,” Kitten pulled away, beginning to whisper. “You see..”

The look of Leon’s face changed several times during the few minutes that Kitten spent whispering. Surprise, anger and surprise again. Disbelief was likely amongst the looks. Rami sat back waiting for the moment when Kitten said talk. He wasn’t ashamed of anything they had done. He was in love with her.

“I see.” Leon pulled away. “Well, do you have something to ask me then, Rami?”

“I do sir.” Rami stood. “I wish for your consent to make her my wife.”

“Huh?” Kitten wasn’t expecting that so soon. She thought his question was going to be a little different. “Rami?”

“I am not ashamed. You know of me and..I..would make her my wife if she wished it and you didn’t, but..I would rather have your permission. You are a most honorable sir and I do not wish to further anger you.” Rami held her hand, gently. “I love her. I have never loved another. She makes my heart dance and my spirit sing.”

“Rami..” Kitten blushed. “I love you too.”

“Well, I guess I had better say yes, although..some of what I was told.” He paused..”I think I need time to digest that.” Leon smiled. “But if you are who makes my Kitten happy and as long as you respect her, I have no complaints.”

“Yes?” Kitten’s smile grew.

“Yes.” Leon nodded. “Welcome to our family, son.” He extended his hand to Rami. “No matter who you are. You will be my son in law and she loves you. That is what’s important to me.”

“Thank you, sir.” Rami shook his hand, smiling. “She means the cosmos to me.”

“She means just as much to me.” Leon pulled her into a hug. “I love you baby girl.”

“I love you daddy.” Kitten returned the hug. “Thank you..”

“Did you just feel…?” Abdel paused, glancing at Badawi. Of course the man hadn’t felt anything. It was something that only could be felt by those like him. Something strange, reverberating through the air. “Never mind, I must be a bit jittery after all the hurried riding and glancing behind us.”

“Ah, there you are!” Leon came out with Kitten and Rami. “I have an announcement to make.”

Kittens blush and her closeness to Rami was enough to tell Badawi what it was. Leon chuckled as he patted Rami’s back.

“He is joining my family as my son in law.” Leon said it loud and proud.

“They are to be married?” Abdel asked. “This is wonderful news.” He smiled, for he was to see to that happening. Never in the history of the genie had a genie and master/mistress truly fallen in love, and it was his duty to see that it did happen. His superiors, the gods, had charged him with this, and he had never failed his duties before. Yet… something was amiss. Shouldn’t he be finished? Was there more to do? Were they to be married first, not just the announcement?

“Baquir, now! Why they are defenseless!” Akhbar yelled out.

There was a ripple of strong magics through the air, and the area was suddenly covered by a thick fog.

“Bandits!” someone yelled.

Abdel glanced about, making Sure that he remained unseen by the swirling mists. He raised his hands… and nothing. “This can not be happening,” he said softly.

“Oh, but it is,” Ahkbar said, emerging from the mist, his turban draped over him, preventing him from inhaling the mists. “You all have kept her from me for too long, and now you must suffer the consequences.” He punched Abdel in the stomach, dropping him to his knees. “Be thankful that you have not touched her, or it would be much worse on you.”

“Daddy!” Kitten coughed, falling to her knees. “Rami!”

“Kitten!” Rami reached for her but she was grabbed. He grunted, being thrown back into the Inn. “Kitt..en.” His eyes closed. He was unconscious.

“Kitten...no!” Leon crawled on the ground. “Kitten!”

He fought off unconsciousness as best he could. It finally took him though. And Akhbar couldn’t find Rami to dispose of him. The thick smoke saved him, for now.

“Rami!”Kitten gasped, waking in the complete dark. “Rami?” She sat up slowly, panting. “Daddy?”

“That little cur of a boy can not help you.” Akhbar’s voice cut the darkness. “Nor can your father, who has proven to be a very irritable thorn in my side. You are quite safe from them here, I assure you.”

“Wh..what?” Her heart beat quicker as she scooted back, hitting the wall of the cave. “No...no, no..What did you do to them!” Kitten didn’t know who this was but she was scared. Thankfully, she felt her clothes on her still. “And where am I!? Let me go!”

“Let you go? Let you go?” His laugh sliced hauntingly over her. “I have not even held you yet, why would you think I would let you go? You are mine, for the rest of your life.” There was a brief pause. “Or, until I should become bored with you, and let the men have their fun, or trade you off to another. What do you think, Baquir? Maybe get fifty rifles for her? A hundred horses?”

“Three hundred horses, easily. And Two hundred camels.” Baquir smiled. “I will go check on the men. Please excuse me.” He turned and walked away.

“I will never be yours.” Kitten felt a hand on her shoulder. Gasping, she tensed. “I refuse!” How was she being touched through a wall? The thought hit her all of the sudden.

“Thank you for doing all of the hard work.” The hiss echoed in the air. “And your Baquir is now serving the gods as a dead soul.” The laugh was bone chilling.

“Ah!” She was pulled back through the cave wall.

Smoke filled the air of the cave. It would render Akhbar unconscious. He would be left alive. They had to have someone for the others to go after, instead of them.

“Nooo…” Akhbar said, falling to his knees and reaching towards the wall. “Not… fair…” He reached out, falling flat on his face, his last breath escaping with a hiss and moved no more. He would be very sore when he woke, though it would pale in comparison to his anger.

“Let me go!” She slapped at the hand that held her. “Stop it!” This was getting old. This whole kidnaping thing? Yeah, she could do without it. “Where are you taking me?!”

“Silence..” The figure tossed her into the back room, where he ad been before. “Now...we wait.” He said as he closed the door.

Aziz once again found himself heading down the dreary streets, and into the darkened building. He had received Imad’s summons more quickly than he had anticipated. “It is done?” he asked Imad. “You have her here?”

“Just in time..although I did say it could take up to a week.” Imad smirked. “Now..do you have my payment?”

Inside the room, he heard her hitting the door and yelling. That was good enough proof that Kitten was in there.

“In all the times that we have conducted business, you have never failed me,” Aziz said. “And in all those times, have I ever failed you?” He reached inside his clothing, pulling out a rather large coin bag. He had no doubt that it was Kitten, Imad, like himself, was a man of his word. Even if their word tended to twist to the underside of things on occasion. “You wish to count it?”

“No, It is fine. I will simply kill you later if it is not all there.” Imad opened the door and Kitten fell forward, oophing. “Your prize.”

“Ouch! Hey! ” Kitten looked up. Her eyes went wide when she saw Aziz. “What the...” Sitting up, as she had land edon her hands and knees, she shook her head. “You wouldn’t...do this to my father. To me! I am promised to Rami!”

“She talks too much.” Imad yawned, walking off.

Aziz just paid him to catch her and deliver. He didn’t say make it easy for him to get the girl back to where ever.

“And now you are promised to my son,” Aziz said. “For my son, I do this.” He reached forward, grabbing her wrist. “Now, silence, or I shall slice out your tongue. Understand?” The look in his eye showed that he was not bluffing. “Women might still serve a useful purpose without the ability to speak.” Oh, they served much better when they weren’t speaking, he thought to himself as he began pulling her towards his room at the Inn.
