12. The Build Up

Chapter 12 – The build up

“This is great!” Shai cried out to her friends, the only real outburst she had ever given. It nearly bowled the two girls over to see the girl running towards them after tennis practice, a piece of paper waving in her hands.

Two months had gone by since Yuki had found out about Nakago and Kaori, and still she had never said anything, and sadly enough for her, Kago had not been around much either. It seemed the whole group had been growing distant from one another. Fuji had a boyfriend, Shai had tennis, and Yuki… she had a bit of nothing to go with her platter of nada. She was starving for attention and her friends were all giving the dessert away to other people.

“What is it?” Fuji asked Shai, putting her cell phone in her bag and leaning over her friend.

“We are going to Osaka to play against their tennis team!” she cried happily. “This is great, they are the hardest team to beat, and we were chosen to play against them.”

“You, alone with Mr. Tennison and three other girls?” Yuki asked, picking up her usual leer. “Isn’t that a bit wrong?”

Shai let out a loud sigh. “Yuki, I think it is time to let go of the insinuation that Mr. Tennison is a bad lecherous person. He looks, he lusts, but he has never laid a hand on a student.” That is what he had told her, at least, and she was so in need of him that she believed every word he told her.

“That is so great,” Fuji said happily, clapping her hands together. “I wish I could go to see you play.”

“I do too, but that is the weekend you promised your mother to go up and look at a few colleges, right?” Shai asked, as both girls looked at the date.

“I can go,” Yuki quickly said. “Maybe the family could go, as a sort of family outing. With Nakago leaving school next year it would be the last time we really get to spend time with one another.”

“That would be great,” Shai said happily. “Then, hopefully, it will be a plan.”

Mother and Father Oshidori found it to be a wonderful idea, while Nakago and Kaori complained incessantly about having to go see Yuki’s friend play tennis. It was boring, they were told old for these types of things, and they continued on with their ragging.

Then Nakago stopped. He looked to his sister’s and had a secretly hidden evil smile. He turned back to his family and crossed his arms over his chest and said, “Yuki is right,” much to the surprise of the entire family who looked over to him with mouths dropped wide. “This is the last time we are going to be able to enjoy time together as a full family. After this I will be away at college and Kaori will be with her friends, and Yuki… will be Yuki.”

It was decided, the Oshidori’s were going to Osaka. Yuki was excited, their parents were happy, Kaori was depressed, it would mean two days without her best friend, and all of Nakago’s planning could finally be put into action.

Fuji stood outside of Shai’s apartment, watching her pack her bags into Mr. Tennison’s minivan. He would be driving the women to Osaka, and from there they would be checking into their hotel room. The school, very surprisingly, had gone all out and gotten each girl their own room. This was highly suspicious, and Fuji could hardly contain her biting remarks about what she suspected was going on between Mr. Tennison and Shai, but whatever it was Shai did not seem too terribly upset with it any longer. Fuji watched the girl’s drive away and did not say a word; she only turned around and walked home.

Fuji walked home swiftly. She wanted to be home before dark. Her mom had been growing suspicious lately, and Fuji was having a harder time finally able to see Amatsu. She was growing weary of lying, to Amatsu, to her mom, but she knew none of them would understand. Amatsu would hate that he’s dating a high school freshman of fifteen, and her mother would kill her that she was dating someone six years her senior, and that she was seeing any boy at all before she had entered college.

Fuji walked into the house only to be smacked across the face the moment she stepped through the door. Fuji’s hand went up to her cheek and her eyes glared, until they saw her mother standing there, perfectly prim and proper, but with an anger written across her face that Fuji had never seen before. She nearly took a step back. Her mother was coming at her again, wrapping her hands around her daughter’s bag and taking it from her, dumping the contents on the floor.

“It’s mine now!” her mother screamed, reaching for the cell phone and claiming it. “I’ve read those text messages you have been sending that boy, and it’s over now. No wonder your grades are dropping. You are out fucking some guy, who will get you pregnant and leave you, and you will abandon all signs of a real life.”

“Mother!” Fuji screamed back, reaching for her phone. She was too late, the phone was thrown against the linoleum floor and shattered into pieces. “Mother, I am not fucking him,” Fuji cried, tears streaming down her face.

“You liar!” The hand came from the other side this time and it was enough to make Fuji’s head reel and knock the girl to the ground. Her mother stomped off, leaving her to collect herself. Fuji shook with anger and fear. She began to push herself from the floor and one of the maids rushed over to help her.

“Don’t touch her,” snapped Mrs. Chenbaro. “She deserves what is coming to her.” Fuji saw it before it ever really keyed in what was happening. The sharp scissors in Mrs. Chenbaro’s hands were aimed out, hands were tangling into her hair, and suddenly she felt a large chunk cut away, just that easy. The strands of hair fell around Fuji’s shoulders, short, but not too short, and still not what Fuji had been growing it all of these years to have done.

“All of your privileges are taken away,” snapped Mrs. Chenbaro. “There will be no waiting after school for your friends, there will be no doing anything but coming straight home and doing your homework, eating dinner, then going to your room. Do you understand?”

Fuji’s deft little fingers were trailing through her hair, feeling the broken strands and wondering how she was going to save this. “Mother, I didn’t fuck him,” she cried, wrapping her arms around her body.

“I don’t care, you lied to me,” snapped Mrs. Chenbaro. “You will never see him again, this man who is corrupting my daughter to lie to me. You will have no one until I am ready for you too, and even then it will be an arranged marriage, like your father and I had been planning for you since the beginning.”

Fuji looked up to her mother’s retreating back and felt the hot tears hit the linoleum under her hands. She would not listen to her mom. She turned and ran out of the house to the screams of the maids and the head of the household. Fuji ran onto the streets and left everything behind, running directly to the apartment of the one person she trusted to turn to.

Amatsu opened the door and looked to Fuji and her sheered hair, the tears streaming down her face, her hands shaking from the anger and fear. He did not hesitate to take her into his arms and pull her close. “Sweetie, what is wrong?” he asked of her.

Her answer was not the one he expected. “Make love to me, Amatsu,” she said to him quietly. “I need you to make love to me.”

The tennis team excitedly walked down the hallways towards their rooms. Each girl more excited than the other that they had their own room. Raquel’s room had a hot tub and a mini bar, while every other girl’s room only had a bed and a television that received every channel, including the dirty ones.

However, Shai’s room was the only one that had a connecting door with her teacher. Shai went to her room and immediately began unpacking, going over the man different nightgowns and clothes that she had brought with her. She had never tired to seduce a teacher before, much less anyone else. She wondered how to do it.

It turned out, she would not have to. Late into the night, when all of the girl’s parted ways, Shai went back to her room and slid on a blue nightgown that was decent while clinging to her curves all at the same moment. She had turned to go to Mr. Tennison’s room when he had knocked on her door. She went to it, opening it to him, and smiled up at him. He entered her room quietly and turned out her light, before leading her to the bed.

Yuki knocked on the door that lead to Nakago’s room. He was lucky; he was the only one that had his own bedroom. Yuki had to share with Kaori, and her parents of course were sleeping in the same room.

Nakago opened the door and leaned against the doorframe, looking down at his little sister with a distaste in his mouth. “What?” he asked of her. “It’s nearly midnight, why aren’t you asleep like all of the little girls?”

“Can I talk to you, for just a moment?” Yuki asked, shifting her weight from foot to foot.

Nakago said nothing, just pushed the door open wide enough for his sister to enter. Yuki walked into the room and looked around nervously. Why did she decide that tonight was the time to talk to him about this? It had been two months since she had learned about Kaori and Nakago, why could she not have waited a few more days? Because tonight seemed right, while Kaori was sleeping only a room away. Yuki was dying to know if her bloodline truly was so tainted.

Nakago closed the door and leaned against it, anxious to have his sister leave the room as soon as he could chase her off. “What is it? Are you going to talk, or am I going to have to just throw you out on your rear?”

Yuki turned towards her brother and with as much tenacity as she could muster snapped, “Did you fuck your sister?” in a voice that was reminiscent of the way their mother would have sounded if she had found out such appalling news.

Nakago smirked, a look that was all too perfect on his handsome features and made Yuki sick. “Why Yuki, are you jealous?” he asked, laughing in her face.

“No,” she muttered, disgusted. “I wanted to know what Kaori was talking about when she was talking to Danko.”

Nakago looked shocked. “She told Danko?” he asked, a bile rising in his throat, a bile full of venom he could already feel dripping. He suddenly had a plan, almost as good as the one he had set up for Danko. He walked over to the door that joined with his and Kaori’s room and pushed it open, leaving it open while he turned to Yuki.

“I’m sorry, Nakago, I should never have asked,” Yuki said, seeing something in her brother’s eyes that terrified her. She began to inch to that open door that lead back into Kaori’s room only to be stopped by Nakago’s hand.

“It’s too late now, Yuki dear,” he said, using a nice tone that frightened Yuki more than anything else he had ever done had, even more frightening than the time he had hung her over the roof and threatened to drop her. “You were curious, now I am going to show you.”
