Chapter Seven

“That’s horrible!” She said and she realized why he had flinched when he had picked her up earlier, an idea began to form in her mind.

“Hey! That hurts! You said I was hot!!” D protested and she looked at him and poked his cheek on the outer rim of the bruise, he flinched then it dawned on him. “Oh, that, yeah, that’s bad.” She narrowed her eyes and looked at him.

“Take your shirt off, now.”

“Whoo! Forward! I like it!” D said roguishly and whipped his shirt off energetically, getting it stuck on his head.

“As I thought.” Charle said examining a rather large bruise on his rib cage.
“Aw man! I was tricked!! No fair!” D said and tried to get his shirt back down. The only thing he accomplished was some noisy flailing. Charle then sighed and helped him put his shirt back down and started in on his make-up.

“And what exactly were you expecting hm?” Charle said looking up at him with a slight smirk.

“I was expecting a little more then what I got…” D replied and Charle chuckled. “We should probably hurry this up and get back to the table. Our food is probably ready.” Charle nodded and finished up his make-up.

“There you are, good as new.” She said and opened the door, leaving the bathroom and heading back to the table. As D left the Kitchen staff gave him a thumbs up, which he returned, thoroughly confused as to why they were giving him a thumbs up. When they got back to the table they’re food had just arrived.

“You know, everyone here must be getting friendlier.” D said in a bubbly tone and Charle gave him a curious look. “I mean, the whole kitchen staff gave me a thumbs up when we left the bathroom.” He explained and Charle blushed furiously. They began to eat and Charle looked up at a bunch of new comers. They were dressed in expensive formal wear, and looking around like the owned the place.

“Hey, they must be totally loaded!” She said, when D turned to look at them he nearly choked on his food as he saw who they were.

“Charle, we have to leave, now.” D threw a hundred dollar bill onto the table and grabbed her arm, taking her from the restaurant, using the back door. Confused, Charle just went along with him. When they neared the motorcycle D threw his spare helmet at her and she put it on and climbed on behind him. After sometime on the motorcycle they came to a stop at an apartment complex. Charle got off the motorcycle and took off her helmet. She gave D a curious look.

“Um, D, Weren’t we going to a movie?” She asked, he turned to her with a dazed look on his face.

“Huh? Um yeah… too late now. I’ve got movies though…” He said and started toward the front doors. Charle caught up to him and he looked at her. “Besides, my T.V. is almost as big. He shrugged. When they got to the door of his Apartment he opened it for her. “Ladies First.” He said, when she stepped inside she realized that it wasn’t quite what she expected. The entire room was sparsely furnished and the TV. And other electronics were shielded behind fireproof glass.

“I’m going to get something to drink, do you want anything?” D said walking past her, he swung the door shut but neither of them noticed the fact that it didn’t close all the way. Charle followed him into the kitchen and looked at him.

“D, what’s wrong?” She asked as he opened the fridge door, she also noticed that there wasn’t a stove or microwave any where in sight. D reached down to get a soda.

“Nothing is wrong.” He said straightening; Charle looked at him and put her hands on her waist.

“It was those people wasn’t it? Are they the ones who beat you up?!” She asked looking at him sternly.

“No, it wasn’t.”

“Why must you insist on lying?”

“I’m not lying, besides, what reason do I have to lie? It’s not like were married.” D replied looking a bit anxious to end the conversation.

“I don’t know what reason you would have.” A mischievous look crossed her face. “But now that were alone.. Take your shirt off.” Charle demanded and D sighed.

“I’m going to be horribly disappointed aren’t I?” Charle grinned at him.

“That’s for you to figure out yourself.” Charle said and D walked past her into the living room.

“Pick out a movie, then I’ll take my shirt off.” D replied and Charle shook her head.

“You pick it out, I’m going to get some bandages.” Charle made her way down the hall and into the bathroom. She collected what she would need then made her way back to the living room. When she looked at the couch, D was sprawled out suggestively with a lecherous grin on his face. Charle shook her head and laughed.

“Is this good?” He asked with a smile and Charle smiled.

“You could stand on your head for all I care.” Charle immediately recognized the look that crossed his face. “Don’t even think about it.” She said and pulled out a cloth to clean the wound. “Here, let me clean that.” She went to clean the wound and D began to squirm away from her. She frowned at him. “If you continue to squirm like that then I’m never going to get that cleaned.”

“That’s the point!” D shot back and tried to get away from her even more, he wound up falling on the floor and trying to army crawl away. He got half way across the floor before Charle grabbed him and flipped him over. She straddled his waist to hold him still, completely ignoring the fact that she was wearing a skirt. “I give up.” D said resting a hand on her hip, smiling suggestively. Charle shook her head and began to clean and bandage the wound.

“You wish.” She said simply and D looked completely defeated. It took her a few moments to both clean and bandage the wound. She patted it gently when she was done. “Well, I’m finished.” She said and D cracked up laughing.

“Are you now?” he asked and she moved to get up, with a muttered comment of pervert, but D shifted onto his elbow and pulled her close to kiss her, And he would have too if both of them hadn’t heard someone clear their throat. Both of them turned to see a man standing in the doorway. Charle suddenly became aware that she was wearing a skirt, and straddling his waist. She blushed furiously, leapt off him and hid behind a pillow on the couch.

“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to interrupt.” The man that Charle assumed was his father said with a slight bow. D, who didn’t seem in the least surprised that he was there sighed and looked at him.

“What do you want?” D asked getting up off of the floor and running a hand through his hair.

“Nico sent me to look at your injuries.” The man said after an awkward silence and D threw a look at Charle.

“See? I told you that he was worried about me.” D turned back to the man and smiled. “I’ve already been looked after, so you can leave and we can get beck to what we were doing.” Somehow Charle managed to blush even deeper. “Ok! Movie time!!” D went about the business of putting the movie on and Charle began to get uncomfortable as the man still stood at the door.

“Um, D…” D turned to her. “He’s still here…” She said looking over at him, then D made a sneaky look and put a finger on her lips in a hush-hush way.

“If we ignore him, maybe he’ll go away…” D said and settled on the couch beside her and pressed play on the remote.
