Clutch

I wear my need for you
like an old grey wool coat
threadbare and worn with heavy use
Tattered, torn, and the pocket's gone
I clutch it to me, pull the warmth of it
against my cold skin
A solitary tear leaves your eye
And my heart thaws in anticipation
Of the pain you trust me to soothe
Wrap myself tight like a bum on the street
I'll beg for your love till it warms my soul
