“Serenity.” Sarai stepped closer. “ Serenity Renwal, Pay attention to your mother right now.” She raised her voice. Finally she Yelled.
“Serenity!”
The girl gasped. Her mothers voice had finally broken through. Reluctantly she pulled her gaze away from Silvan’s. She swore if he disappeared on her this time that she was going to blame her mother for it. Silvan could only smile. He had realized that there might be a chance she would hate him for not showing up until now. She did not though, and for that he was great full.
“Hi.” Her mother placed her hands on her hips. “ I’m Mom. It’s a pleasure to meet you.”
She was being just a little sarcastic, true, but she hoped it would get her point across. Serenity chuckled. Instead of getting angry with her mother she took it as what it was supposed to be. Normally she would have stormed away, thinking her mother was mocking er or something.
“ Mother. Allow me to introduce Prince Silvan Demetrious.” She sighed dreamily as she spoke his name. It was fairly easy to see that Serenity was completely caught up in this strangers presence. “The princely knight of Corinthia.”
Silvan pulled his hand from Serenity’s own. Serenity whimpered inwardly. She didn’t want him to let go of her. With a raised brow Sarai looked between the two. If this was some kind of elaborate joke on their part, they had certainly went all out. She heard Serenity speak of Corinthia before but that was the Dream world she had created!
“Indeed. It’s a pleasure to meet you finally.” Silvan glanced up at her as he stood from his bow. “Allow me to apologize. I did not intend to dis-regard you My lady.”
“Uh..Its okay.” Sarai blinked. His pure charm and charisma had thrown her off a moment. She did not expect it. “I am Sarai Renwal. You obviously know my daughter Serenity.”
Serenity blushed and stepped away from the two a moment. If he knew about her dreams and everything she thought, felt and wrote about him, yeah he knew her. Silvan swept Sarai’s hand up into his own very gracefully. His fingers curled under and wrapped around hers. His smile crept upwards gently as his lips brushed the top of her knuckles. THIS was new. The blonde woman could feel even her heart start to pound in her chest.
“As I said my lady. It’s a true pleasure to meet the mother of the young woman I have grown to care for.”
Serenity’s heart leapt into her chest. Did she just hear him right? She did! He said he cared for her. Her breaths quickened. At first, she didn’t know what to do. YES she cared about him! She loved him. That might of been hard or confusing for her mother to accept but Serenity did. She could not help the way she felt. At least she thought it was love. She had never really been in love before to know if it was real and true. Even Sarai’s own facial expression had turned to one of surprise. That was something she didn’t expect to hear either. It seemed this evening would be full of little surprises so far.
Silvan pulled his hand deftly from hers. The gentle caress of skin brushed past her fingers. Sarai was left speechless for the moment. She could feel many odd sensations fill her. Her heart was a flutter at his charm. Her ears were crooned by the sweet charm of his voice. WAIT! No! She couldn’t. This was her daughters fantasy man, but still, oh lords she could imagine up one hell of a man.
“SO.”
Serenity coughed a little to get attention. Her hand had quickly found the crook of Silvan’s right arm, just at the elbow. He smiled and brought his arm up. Her touch sent shivers through him. He longed to have her hold him just as much as she wanted him to hold her. Sarai blinked and shook her head of wandering thoughts.
“O..oh! I’m sorry Serenity. This is just all a little new for your poor mom here.” She chuckled. “ I’m not sure what to say about all of this. I mean as far as I knew, or even Serenity, you sir , were a fantasy. A very elaborate one but still. Please do not take offense to my statements. It's just something I really feel that I need to address. Don’t get me wrong though. I am more than happy to see my daughter so happy. Heck, were both standing here in very beautiful gowns in front of a very handsome man, If, you don’t mind me saying so that is.”
“Mom..” Serenity looked up at her. “ Don’t. You might make him go away if this is a dream. I don’t want it to.” She protectively hugged Silvan’s arm closer.
“You have no need to fear me disappearing my sweet Serenity.”
He pulled her into a gentle grasp of a hug. She sighed happily. Serenity’s hands met his chest and slid down slightly. Her cheek pressed up against him and she closed her eyes, just letting her arms wrap around him. His hand trailed up and ran a finger through one of her curls. He smoothed the lose hair into place with the others and smiled. Sarai watched her daughter simply melt at his touch.
“Your mother has spoken a legitimate concern and it is something that I will address.” Silvan shifted only slightly to look at Sarai. Serenity was still held very affectionately with in his grasp.”First, however I would like to suggest we move on to the coach. I don’t wish the birthday princess late for her own ball.” He motioned with his free hand towards the door.
“Y..You really have a ball going for me?” Serenity bit her lip lightly. Her eyes once again met Silvan’s handsome, silver gaze. “For real and for true?”
“Aye, my beautiful sweet lady. It's all for you in your honor.” Silvan whispered it into her ear. “Do you wish to go? I will not force you.”
“Yes...”
She blushed deeply. Sarai shook her head at all of this. She could not help but to chuckle. It was cute. Her daughter was cute. Silvan nodded and very hesitantly pulled away. He did not want to feel this hug end but they did have someplace to be. There would be time to explain things further at a later point. This was all about Serenity for right now and he would not be the one to deprive her of her special evening. If he could capture the moon and place it in an amulet for her, he would. If he could have put all the stars into gems to adorn her, he would have. His other arm extended out towards Sarai. She smiled and grasped the crook of the elbow gently. He was a gentleman! Serenity had a hold of his other arm.
“Than let us be off. Your birthday ball awaits.”
With that, Silvan escorted the two women out the door and to the awaiting coach. Dreams of dreams! Serenity could not imagine everything that was happening to her right now. She hoped it was real. Her mother hoped it was real. Sarai watched her daughter turn into a very vibrant, beautiful, outgoing young woman in just an instant of a meeting with this fantasy man.
She only paused a moment to look up at the stars. Sarai smiled and let her eyes travel to Silvan and Serenity. He was helping her up into the coach at the moment. Serenity was all smiles and she absolutely glowed right now. Her daughter could not have looked more elegant than she looked right now. A twinkle in her eye gave way to the stars above. Sarai had to give them an approving nod.
“Thank you.” She whispered. Sarai shifted slightly as she spoke. “Thank you for everything. Even if this only lasts for tonight.”
That was enough for her right now. She hoped that it did last longer deep down however. Her daughters happiness was her everything and it was very apparent that this man made her daughter happy. Her wish that she had made to the stars and moon had come true! Cinderella had nothing on this fairy tale. This was better than anything she could have dreamed.
“Mom?” Serenity peeked her head out the coach window. “Are you coming?”
Silvan waited aside the door still. He gave a light bow and extended his hand towards Sarai to help her into the coach. It was only proper for the man to help the ladies in first after all. Sarai chuckled and nodded.
“I wouldn’t miss this for the world baby girl.”
She sat down across from her daughter. Silvan had sat him self so that Serenity sat to his left side beside him. The side his heart was on. Serenity blushed deeply and looked down a moment. Her mother never looked at her this way before. She could also feel Silvan’s hand grasp hers lightly. His own silver eyes cold not leave the radiant jewel that sat beside him.
“Happy birthday my sweet.” Silvan whispered.
“Yes, Happy birthday Serenity.” Sarai grinned widely.”May it be your happiest yet.”
