Chapter 7
Robin was enjoying her time at home, but really was missing Marcus he had only called a couple of times, but all his calls were short. Robin would still smile to herself when she remembered how they had said their goodbyes. They had shared something so sweet she just couldn’t wait to share it again. She mostly remembered the last thing Marcus said before she fell asleep I love you. Every time she thought about it she wanted to burst and jump for joy. Marcus Carver loved Robin Davis. That sounded so good to her because Robin Davis loved her some Marcus Carver too.
“Robin someone’s at the door for you,” her, mother yelled from downstairs.
Robin didn’t know who could be here for her she didn’t know anybody in town.
“Kevin what are you doing here?”
“I just needed to talk to you and it just happens to be that we live in the same town.”
“What do you want Kevin?”
“Can we talk out here?”
Robin walked passed him and sat on the porch stairs just looking at him like he was the last person she needed or wanted to see right now. “Ok talk.”
“I’m sorry for being so weird Robin. I know I hurt you and Marty, but I was just trying to fit in with everybody at the college. Anyway, when I lived here I was a no body and I didn’t want to live like that forever. So I figured I would do what other guys did and just play around with girl’s feelings to fit in and at first it worked, but I started to like you and by the time I knew I had real feelings for you it was to late you had already found out about Marty. So what I want to say is sorry.”
Robin didn’t know what to say to that. She knew how it was to be a no body and want to be accepted. She also knew how hard it was to ask for forgiveness and she liked Kevin for that. “Ok I forgive you, but don’t try anything like that again. I actually like you better as yourself.”
“Thanks. So, do you want to hang out with me or something?”
“Sure that would be great. I don’t have plans and I would like to be friends with this new Kevin and you can tell me what you need help with so bad that you had to bust in my room,” she laughed
**********
Kevin turned out to be a lot of fun when he just acted like his self. The two of them had gone to a movie and to play some pool before he dropped her back off at home and promised to keep in touch. Robin felt good to get to know the new Kevin the one that could be her friend. When she walked into the house her mother had said that Marcus had called. Robin ran up to her room to call him back.
“Hey honey” he said when he answered.
“I hate caller Id,” Robin laughed.
“Well I love to know that it is you before I answer so I can have a smile on my face before I pick up, anyway what have you been up to?”
“Well actually I just got back from the movies and playing pool with Kevin.”
There was a silence before Marcus asked who Kevin was.
“The one from school.”
“Oh, did you have fun with Kevin?” He asked dryly.
“Yea it was a blast,” Robin was not going to let his jealously get her in a bad mood she was still so happy to be talking to him. “Marcus lets talk about something else I can see that you don’t like this conversation and I am not letting you hang up.”
“I never said I was hanging up,” he mumbled.
“I really do love your jealous self, honey.”
“I’m not jealous….wait did you say you love me?”
“Yep I did and what do you have to say about that?”
“I can say that I love you too and I bet Kevin can’t love you like me,” he joked. Robin laughed just happy to see that he was back to his self.
“Hey Marcus I can’t wait to see you in 3 days I really do miss you.’
“I know the feeling I am having a blast, but I miss you like crazy and think of you constantly. Like right now I am at a party and sitting in the corner talking to my girlfriend.”
“You never called me your girlfriend before it sounds so sexy, I love you honey.”
“Yea, yea don’t all the women,” he joked.
“There better not be any other woman loving you like I do cause I would kick that bitches ass,” Robin laughed.
“Awww you love me like that boo?”
“Yep you better be happy no one better came around yet.” Robin and Marcus talked and laughed for hours before they both decided it was time to hang up.
“Call me tomorrow?” Robin said before they hung up
“I was going to call anyway and make sure that Kevin guy is not around or I am taking the first plane out to kick his ass,” Marcus was half joking half serious.
“Yea I love you to. Bye babe.”
After Robin hung up she lay in bed and thought about Marcus and then she started to think about Kevin and what he had said I have real feelings for you. She had not thought about that until this moment. Kevin had feelings for her. She had to admit she liked the new Kevin, but she did not feel like being around him if he started to make a move. She was going to have to tell him that their only chance was to be friends, besides she was already in love. She just hoped Kevin saw things her way.
