No Need for Condoms

A/N: Many many thanks to my reviewers. And the mailing list seems to be working out just great. I haven\'t had any complaints. (edit: Whoops, forgot the HTML code. There we go!)

~*~ Jason\'s POV ~*~

Savvy seemed… defeated, after that. I rested my chin on her head and wrapped my arms around her waist, but she didn\'t respond. \"Cherry, go pick out something else,\" I murmured, sighing. The blonde was drinking from between Savannah\'s legs, not that the sight wasn\'t nice, but my Savvy looked ready to cry. And she was mine. \"Cherry, if you\'re that hungry, I\'ll buy you lunch,\" I said, scowling.

She reared back and stuck her tongue out at me. \"Your girlfriend tastes wonderful, Jase. You always pick good ones, compliment to myself,\" she said. She chuckled and dragged a finger over Savvy\'s pussy. My girl shuddered and pushed up against my chest. I kept my arms around her while Cherry pulled her panties up. God, this was annoying. Savvy\'s whimpering was getting to me, and it really shouldn\'t have. She deserved to have things get a little out of control after teasing me like that. What had she been thinking? If she\'d been trying to make me angry, it\'d worked. That was not something I\'d planned on, and I hadn\'t enjoyed having my plans disrupted. \"I\'ll go pick some more stuff out. I\'m assuming you want a few party outfits. Should I go less or more for that?\" Cherry asked.

\"More,\" Savvy said, at the same time I was saying, \"Less.\" I glared at her. Like she had any say in this after what she\'d done. And I was ready to fight for something skimpy, maybe just tell her to go naked, until she looked up at me. There was water in her eyes again. And her mouth was in that sexy little pout… damn it I was weak. \"Just get some of both,\" I said. Did she know she was doing that? Whenever she wanted something from me, since the day we\'d met, she\'d pull that little pout on and I\'d give in almost instantly. That look just did something to me.

As soon as Cherry was out of earshot I turned Savannah around to face me. Her arm twisted since she still had a wrist handcuffed to the stripper pole, but not much. I\'d get Cherry to open the lock before long. \"What the hell were you thinking?\" I asked, grabbing her chin. She didn\'t want to look at me. \"What the fuck was that?\" I demanded, forcing her to look up at me. She blinked back tears and I saw a flash of anger in her eyes. \"Do I need to start making rules, Savvy? I thought you\'d realize I don\'t want you flirting with people after what happened with that cop--\"

\"For the last time, I was not flirting with him! You have such a God complex!\" she yelled, pushing at my chest with her un-cuffed arm. I took a step back but grabbed onto the pole and caught myself. \"And why the hell can\'t I flirt with other people? It\'s not like we\'re dating!\" she snapped. She stomped her foot and looked away, face flushed. She wiped at her eyes and sneezed again. I groaned inwardly. It would screw things up if she really was getting sick. \"All we\'ve done…\" she said, sniffing, \"that\'s just physical. You don\'t care about me, and just because you\'re making me part of -- of your harem, that doesn\'t mean you own me.\"

Cherry chose that horrible moment to come back with an armful of lingerie. I sighed and stepped down from the platform. Savannah and I would have to finish our little talk later. In bed, preferably. \"Cherry, I told you no leather,\" I said, glaring at the corset she held up.

She grinned and ran her tongue over her teeth. \"It\'s mine,\" she said. \"Just wanted to show you before the party tomorrow.\" She held it over herself and tilted her head to the side. \"What do you think?\"

\"I think I want to pay up and get out of here.\" I crossed my arms over my chest.

\"Spoilsport,\" Cherry said, dropping her corset onto the floor. She raked her nails through her blonde hair and bent over a little, flashing her cleavage at me. I grit my teeth. I was not in the mood for Cherry\'s games, not now. \"You always play when you come in here, Jase,\" she grumbled. \"Just \'cause I played with your girlfriend before you, you\'re gonna get all pissy on me?\"

Sighing, I pinched the bridge of my nose. \"I do not get pissy. We don\'t have all day--\"

\"You know, this is why we broke up! You\'re such a touchy bastard!\" she shouted, shoving all the lingerie she\'d collected at me. I clutched it to my chest and watched her as she stalked off, shaking her ass at me all the way to her office. I must\'ve watched a little too closely, because Savvy cursed behind me. Offering up a short prayer to God, I looked over my shoulder and sighed. She\'d somehow managed to break the chain of the handcuffs, but the metal circle was still wrapped around her wrist.

\"Congratulations, you\'ve just given me an entirely new fantasy,\" I told her. To my amusement, she stopped struggling with the cuff and her face went red. I dropped the lingerie into a bag. I didn\'t need to waste any time looking through it, Cherry\'s taste was always impeccable. \"Now come over here and we\'ll get you dressed. We can have lunch after we go to the pharmacy, alright?\"

She jumped off the platform and walked over to her clothes. \"I can dress myself, Ja-achoo!\"

\"Sweetheart, you\'re getting sick. Just let me help,\" I said. She flinched when I put my hand on her arm. \"Aw, come on. I\'m not that bad,\" I purred, sliding my arm around her. She didn\'t stop me and I pulled her up against me. \"We had fun last night, didn\'t we?\" I whispered in her ear. She shivered, and I slid my hand under her nightie. \"If I didn\'t care about you, do you think I\'d have told that cop off yesterday? I told him to stop ogling my girlfriend because you are my girlfriend,\" I said, tracing a circle on her stomach. God, she had soft skin.

Sniffing again, she looked up at me. \"You\'re a liar.\"

That girl had me pegged. I actually felt a little guilty. \"If I\'m lying, baby, let lightning strike me down,\" I said. Just to be on the safe side, I crossed my fingers when I said it. Savvy smiled weakly at me and I gave her a gentle kiss to the lips. She kissed back and didn\'t seem to mind that I kept my palms pressed against her stomach. I\'d done this so many times, over her shirt. It was great to finally be able to feel skin.

\"So… if we\'re dating…\" she mumbled, rubbing the heel of her hand over her eye. \"Why\'d you let Cheryl do… you-know-what?\" She stared holes at me and I stared back at her.

\"Quite frankly, I was turned on,\" I said smoothly. That wasn\'t a lie. \"But what the hell was that comment about my harem? How many girls do you think I\'ve been seeing?\"

\"Think?\" she said, spinning around. She put her hands on her hips. \"I can name them. Hannah, Jennifer, Casey, Lisa, Terri, Paula--\"

I cut her off with a kiss, not near as gentle as the one before. Why be gentle when you can get a girl\'s mouth open through sheer surprise? Savvy was caught so off-guard she grabbed onto my shoulders to steady herself, and her lips parted in a gasp that ended with my tongue in her mouth. She didn\'t try to pull away when I pressed my hands against her back, arching her against me. And she stayed arched when I reached down to rub my hand over her panties. They were damp, to my delight. \"You are a sexy little thing, Savvy,\" I breathed into her mouth. I gave her ass a playful slap and took a step back. \"Now let\'s get you dressed and get out of here.\"

\"Now?\" she whispered.

Smirking, I nodded and slowly pulled her nightie over her head. She reluctantly raised her arms for me. It was nice to know she was enjoying herself, even though she was still trying to be angry with me. A small smile stayed on her face while I dressed her, and it was infinitely more satisfying than watching Cherry do it.

I was a little surprised that Cherry didn\'t come out of her office again. Even when Savvy and I headed down the staircase, her office door stayed shut. I sighed. Who was touchy? She was wrong about why we\'d broken up, though. I couldn\'t manage staying in college around all those sparkling coeds and still stay loyal to Cherry. Why did she think we\'d broken up over the phone?

\"Can you carry all these all the way to the car?\" Savvy asked me after I\'d paid up. It\'d cost more than I expected, but that always happened when I took a girl shopping. She wrapped her hand around my upper arm and her mouth went into that pout. I stared at her. The cashier hadn\'t stuffed the clothes into that many bags.

\"I\'ll carry them, don\'t worry about it,\" the boy said. He vaulted over the counter and gathered all the bags in his arms. I glared at Savvy, who had a tiny smile on her face as she watched the boy walked out to my car. \"Um… open the door, Sir?\" he begged. He was rail thin, and I could see his arms were shaking a little under the weight of all the bags. I snorted. Savvy jabbed me in the stomach with her elbow and opened the car door for him.

\"Ignore him, he\'s a jerk,\" she said, lightly patting the boy\'s shoulder.

I stalked past them both and slid into the driver\'s seat. \"When you\'re done flirting…\"

\"Oh, you,\" she said, sticking her tongue out at me. What\'s wrong with me? I wondered, while she walked around the car to the passenger\'s side. \"You could\'ve tipped him, you know,\" she said, hopping into the seat. Her hair slid into her face when she leaned down to buckle her seatbelt. \"Not everyone likes to bow down for you, you know.\"

\"You like it. Don\'t think I don\'t know you enjoy sucking on me,\" I muttered, pulling out of the parking lot. God, I had to get out of this mood. If she smiled at the waiter was I going to freak?

A red light stopped us. Savvy reached up and stroked my hair. \"You said you didn\'t like seeing me on my knees,\" she said. She turned away and sneezed again. I sighed. I should\'ve closed the window in the bathroom the other night. \"That was… not like you,\" she said, grabbing a tissue from a box in the backseat.

\"You were on your knees because you were upset. That\'s what I didn\'t like,\" I said. The light turned green and I swerved right. Fairview only had one pharmacy, which meant there\'d be a line. I glanced at Savvy when we came to the next light. She was just staring at me. \"You find that surprising?\" I asked, raising an eyebrow.

\"I find it downright shocking, Mr. Apathy,\" she said. She curled up in her seat and rested her head on the windowsill.

The wind whipped a lot of her hair out of her ponytail when the light changed. I sighed and fought the urge to use my power buttons to roll the window up. \"You\'re only going to make yourself sicker,\" I warned her.

\"I\'m hot,\" she said. \"The wind feels good.\"

\"Take off the jacket I bought you if you\'re hot.\"

\"No, then I\'m too cold. Besides, it\'s comfy.\"

\"Lift your head. I\'m rolling up the window,\" I said, pulling into the parking lot of the pharmacy. She reluctantly did, but stayed snuggled in her seat when I undid my seatbelt. Well, fine. It was probably better anyway. I flipped the radio on and rubbed her shoulder. \"I\'ll be back soon. If it\'ll be more then ten minutes I\'ll come get you. Come inside if anyone tries to talk to you, and keep the doors locked.\"

\"Yes, Daddy,\" she said. I faltered for a second. She wasn\'t looking at me, she\'d folded her arms and tucked her face away from the world. I reached over and squeezed her knee before getting out of the car, but she still didn\'t look up at me. I shook my head. She\'d be just fine, I told myself. She was eighteen, for crying out loud, not eight.

There was a line at the counter. I looked at the old men and women standing there and decided to just look for the OTC stuff myself. Nyquil had been nice the other night, maybe Dayquil would do the same without knocking Savannah out.

I wandered up and down several aisles before the thermometers caught my eye. We didn\'t have one at the cabin, and I\'d left mine back at school. I picked up a few and looked over the plastic boxes for a while. Technology was working against me, all of them took ear readings. But if Savvy really was getting sick… I gave in and grabbed one.

The OTC aisle was a neon array of liquids and pills. It hurt my eyes. I just grabbed the only one I recognized, Dayquil, and another Nyquil to be safe. But she\'d just been sneezing. Did she have a sore throat? Did she have a fever? She said she\'d been hot. I stared at the bottles in my hand and shoved them back on the shelf. Even as I walked up to the counter, I realized I was being ridiculously stupid. But it was like I was watching myself from the outside. I wanted to bash my head in, but I paid for the thermometer and walked out to the car.

Savvy unlocked the doors and was surprised when I started ripping open the thermometer\'s package. \"What did you buy that for? I thought you were getting medicine.\"

\"I don\'t know what kind to get,\" I said. The plastic ripped and sliced my finger. \"Shit!\"

\"You\'re bleeding,\" Savvy said.

\"Fuck,\" I muttered, dropping the thermometer.

She reached into the backseat and grabbed a handful of tissues, which she wrapped around my finger. \"You\'re such an idiot,\" she said, sighing. \"Now you have to buy more. What were you trying to do with the thermometer, anyway?\"

\"I was going to see if you had a fever.\"

\"I don\'t. I\'m just warm.\"

\"How do you know?\"

She grabbed my non-bleeding hand and pressed the back of it to her forehead. \"See? Normal. Do you know what to buy to put on this cut? I think it\'s stopped bleeding. I swear, you could kill someone with the packages they make nowadays. Whatever happened to bubble wrap?\" She pulled the bloody tissues off my hand and made a face. \"Do you know what to buy for this?\" she asked again.

\"Band-aids.\"

She stared at me for a minute. Then: \"I\'m coming inside with you.\" She unbuckled her seatbelt and opened her door. I couldn\'t stop her from getting out. She was inside before I\'d even scrambled out of the car. What the hell was wrong with band-aids? I grabbed the thermometer before going inside the store. Like hell she didn\'t have a fever.

It took me a minute to find her. I flipped the on switch and stuck the metal tip of the gun-like-thing in her ear. She stood still during the few seconds it took the thing to beep. \"Ninety-nine point three,\" I said, looking at the readout. \"That\'s a fever.\"

\"Oh it is not, you big wimp,\" she said. She had a basket in her hands and had put a bottle of rubbing alcohol and a box of gauze bandages inside. \"Besides, when your body temperature rises, it kills the bacteria or whatever\'s making you sick. You shouldn\'t take fever-reducers until it gets to like a hundred and three. Don\'t you pay attention in biology?\" She shook her head and walked over to the cold medicine. I kept some tissues pressed to my finger and followed her, feeling weird and removed from the world. I didn\'t go shopping with women. Barring lingerie shopping, but that didn\'t count. I didn\'t do normal things like this. Getting medicine or renting movies… I did it alone.

Savannah didn\'t even read the bottles of OTC medicine. She knew what she needed, apparently. \"Do we need anything else?\" she asked. \"Are we going grocery shopping? I saw the refrigerator this morning. You used up all the eggs for breakfast, and we finished off the milk. There wasn\'t even any beer, which is weird considering you and Mike own the place. Do we need soap or shampoo? I didn\'t look. I know we have toothpaste and you brought my toothbrush, so that\'s fine.\" She looked off into space for a minute and just nodded when I said we could go grocery shopping. Soap? Shampoo? I had no idea. Whenever we ran out I just used dish soap until I went into town again. \"What about decorations? Do you want to decorate the cabin for Christmas?\" she asked. \"Oh, you\'re not paying attention. Come on, let\'s go. I\'m starving.\"

The line was nonexistent when we went up to the counter. \"Hello, Jason. Who\'s your friend here?\" the cashier asked, smiling at Savannah.

For the life of me I could not remember the guy\'s name. \"This is Savannah,\" I said.

He nodded and rung up our purchases. \"You didn\'t buy condoms. Did you bring some up with you?\"

Savvy took a step back and knocked into me. \"What?\"

Oh, fuck. \"No, actually,\" I said. Savvy please don\'t start crying, I prayed, putting my arms around her. I should\'ve thought of this. \"Could you just give us a box or two?\"

\"We don\'t need them,\" Savvy said. I started to speak and she stomped on my insole. \"We don\'t need them,\" she said again. The cashier took the money I\'d doled out and gave her the change. She grabbed my hand and the bag, and dragged us out of the store.

\"Savvy… I know you\'re scared… but you know how close we\'ve come to actually having sex, and I think we need to buy some--\"

She stopped in front of the car and hugged the pharmacy bag to her chest. \"Even if we have sex, we don\'t need them,\" she said. I put my hand on her shoulder and she shrugged me off. \"I can\'t have kids.\"

\"I\'m sorry. I didn\'t know,\" I said. \"Why? Did you get a bad blood transfusion or something?\"

She stared at the car for a minute and then turned around. \"I\'m in the mood for spaghetti,\" she said, smiling. \"I saw an Olive Garden earlier. Can we go there?\"

A/N: Gah, it\'s hard to write as a guy. Hope it was okay. See you again soon. I\'ll try to have the next chapter out in a week.
