Confrontation and My Final Words
\"Daemon!\" Electricity sizzled and cracked in response to the name. The shadows around me deepened and then slowly gather to form a misshapen image of my brother.
\"Ah, Maya! So good of you to call. I was wondering when I would hear my name on those enticing lips of yours again... As it turns out, no matter how much I despise you, you are the only woman who has given me so much...pleasure...\" His last word was drawn out into a purr. I could see the large bulge in his pants strain further against the fabric as if to emphasize the point.
Three years worth of horrible memories flooded my head but I stubbornly drove them back out. I refused to drown in my pain like I had once before. I had to finish this now!
Daemon made the first move. He lunged forward and made to grab my arm in a bone crushing grip. But I was too fast. As he lunged, I stepped to the side and used his energy against him. He slammed head long into the wall with a sickening crunch. He recovered quickly, though, and stood. Darkness gathered in his hands as he collected his energy.
I stood transfixed until that dark ball of energy was released and sent in my direction. Adrenalin coursed through my veins and I couldn\'t think straight.
I fell to my knees as a searing pain hit me. It seemed I was defeated.
\"You won\'t beat me again, Maya!\" he roared and walked toward me, his unholy flesh peeling from his limbs. Daemon grabbed me around the throat and lifted me above the ground. My air was cut off and my feet dangled above the littered ground, but I was able to utter one final word.
It was only a whisper, but Daemon heard it. \"Die!\" His face contorted in rage and then pain. Light flooded the room and my brother\'s shielding shadows dissolved into nothing.
This was the end. Daemon exploded with a screaming hiss. I fell to the ground, a smile on my face. My brother\'s essence had been destroyed...
But it was the end for me as well. I had used my final breath to deal the killing blow. I had died...
