Slacking Employees

I answered a question! Well... two... three? technically as well as a twist in there that may or may not be true. I tried adding more sustinance and it kind of worked, go me.

Raise your hand if you wish Koln had said yes.

Read, Review and Enjoy.

Rel dressed and walked into the apartment to find Taln and Koln cuddling on his couch. Cuddling. The pair looked adorable, despite the obvious age difference, despite the fact that Taln looked highly uncomfortable as soon as Rel walked into the room, they looked adorable. Taln was sitting between Koln and the arm rest, hands placed demurely in his lap, head resting on Koln’s shoulder. When Rel had walked into the room, Taln had had a small smile on his lips and half lidded eyes, a comfortable look. Koln had one arm around Taln, the other sitting on the younger man’s leg.

Both were wearing nice clothing, dress shirt and pants that had been pressed and then worn through a meeting. Clean shaven and hair combed neatly.

“I thought there were cameras in this place,” Rel snapped at Koln, shaking a finger at him, “do you realise that… That. Fucking hell I’ve lost track of time.”

“Happens to us all when Sidhe get involved,” Koln murmured, “do I realise what, exactly?”

“My father was here!”

“Mari told me about that, he’s dying and had to come or something.”

“He came twice.”

Koln pulled away from Taln and flicked open a cell phone. Taln looked after Koln longingly for only a moment before the younger man caught himself and looked to Rel. Eyes roved up and down Rel and Taln looked puzzled, head cocking to the side just slightly and a glazed sort of look came over him.

“The program’s been emancipated. We’ve been having issues with government employees not doing their jobs or slacking off on the job,” Taln responded quietly, “the guards just walked away from their posts the other day. Although. That does explain Violet’s temper.”

“Violet?”

Taln looked at Rel like he was stupid.

Ashun hopped over the back of the couch and settled beside Taln, “my name is Ashun, Taln, and I introduced myself as such, please don’t call me that here. And if you four had asked, I would have told you that he had come again but you were so busy that I didn’t want to bother you. He ended up leaving of his own will and won’t be returning.”

Koln clicked his phone shut and slid into the conversation effortlessly, “is that why Osht was bleeding from the ear.”

“Essuan fixed that, he’s fine! Now…”

“Why are you all here, even?” Rel muttered, folding his arms, “frankly I was liking the quiet.”

Ashun blinked at Rel, purple eyes darkening, “you wanted us back,” when Rel glared at her she added, “you think loudly and Paw can hear you when you do that and last night you wanted us back so Paw told us and. Here we are. Besides. You can’t go as far and as fast with Muan unless there are family members around to. What’s it call. Chaperone?”

“Ah, and-”

“We can’t exactly cuddle down below,” Koln growled, “everyone looks at us like the world has gone topsy-turvy. And we wanted to have a bit of a discussion with you and Muan. And well, Ashun, now is a good time to have this conversation with you as well.”

“Conversation?” Ashun straightened, her tone changed. At the change in her tone, Rel noted, Koln’s stance changed from standing to preparing himself for the worst, “About what exactly? Now that we’re emancipated you want us to use our powers to benefit you?”

“Yes. And no,” Koln responded, looking relieved, “We want you to use your powers, and yes, we wouldn’t mind you using them to help us, but we’re not going to make you use your powers to help us.” Koln motioned towards himself and then looked at Rel, “we would, however, like you to use your powers to help these two, Rel and Muan. Muan has power, he knows how to use some yes, but on the Farm. Likely he would not have been allowed to use his powers. Rel, while he has power, likely has no understanding of how or when to use his powers. Having Muan teach him, Paw informs me, is like having a savant try to teach a toddler how to play the piano. Which I found insulting and he wasn’t even speaking to me.”

“I understand, actually, what he means,” Rel responded, “it is hardly insulting to be called a toddler to a savant. It could be worse. I could be the moron or the babe. Instead I’ve got legs under me and have entered a stage of personal growth and learning.”

“All that from a word?” Ashun murmured, bemused, “you are starting to sound like Auhi.”

Something passed between the Sidhe that was not amusement, something that might have been dangerous even. Muan stepped around and cocked his head, looking Koln up and down. The Sidhe opened his mouth, showing off his impressive set of new teeth with a smile.

Koln turned, looking Muan up and down before very politely saying, “no thank you, I’m not interested,” the older man paused and smiled, “why not try Taln.”

Muan’s teeth gnashed together, and he bent his head to Taln but walked off. Rel watched the entire thing and couldn’t quite decide what had just gone on.

“Did he just proposition you for sex?” Rel asked Koln.

“Yes. He seems to think that Taln is acceptable but refuses to offer.”

“Taln isn’t to Muan’s tastes,” Ashun muttered, “he prefers strong males. He’s looking for a,” the girl made a hand motion, “you people need a more colourful language. He’s looking for a. Ehm. Top?”

“Souse, perhaps,” Taln responded, “would be more his type. Or perhaps Hohi.” Muan snarled at the mention of Hohi’s name, “well then there’s always Mik.” Muan turned towards Taln, apparently interested, “but then Ashun just loves him.”

“I do not love him, I do not crush on him, as you fools,” Ashun snarled, “whisper behind my back. I submit to him. Something that you two will never be able to tell the difference between.”

“Submission,” Rel murmured, moving to the couch to sit down. He was likely going to ‘poke’ Ashun as Raoh put it, but that was too bad, “love, what truly is the difference. Taln submits himself to Koln, Koln in turn does not abuse that submission but treats Taln with respect and due care, is not that the very definition of love? To submit and to not be abused in return? The whole claim of submission versus love is as if to say that one submits to another and is abused by the other.”

“Thus to submit to someone is to love them?” Ashun muttered.

“To submit willingly, they argue, is the only way to love, I however,” Rel responded, “believe that one can force submission and still it can end in love. Take Rava and Ayato, has Rava not forced Ayato to submit to him in the past? Has Ayato not done the same to Rava? To beat one into submission and then continue to abuse is not love, that is just hatred and torture. You, my darling, have submitted willingly and thus, yes, you love Mik. Like all who meet Rava love him and-”

All loved Rava before Rahl-ta’s betrayal, it was a condition of Rava’s existence. They called him something. A key, they had called him. Even in the Two Lovers, he was called such and then something about all give submission and love unto him.

Which the Sidhe did for Mik, which he himself did for Mik. Did that make Mik like Rava, as he could not be Rava, that would mean Paw was Ayato which would mean explosions and wars and drama. That would make Mik a key.

“Did you just do a Mik thing?” Ashun asked, “connecting two entirely different things to make them one thing?”

“Yeah, I think I did…” Rel muttered.

“Good. Because right there. You were sounding like Paw, and it was creeping me out.”
