I went with her to the group and the cat almost literally jumped into my arms and started purring. “I guess you already met Anya and Terry.” Reena said, ignoring the fact that I was busy petting Terra. “That guy over there,” she pulled my arm and motioned to a tanned boy about nineteen with short blonde hair and pale blue eyes. “Is Jake, and that wild child” she motioned to the last girl with oddly green hair and gold eyes “Is Kerri. You don’t want to see her mad.”
“Dully noted.” I said before tensing. “I need to go.” her hand came back on mine in an instant. “I’ll be back.” I continued looking at her then rolling my eyes “Don’t give me that look.”
Poison.
I heard the helicopter before I saw it.
That’s what it was, poison.
I could hear them talking on their radios… looking for me
Why did they want this poison so badly?
I stood at the edge of a cliff, watching them come towards me.
I’ll show them why…
They should not mess with me.
My power seeped through my core, calling out to them, and their activities increased ten-fold as the happened to see me, and I started to move like someone possessed.
I heard someone call out to use live ammo, another refuted the order and I smiled. ‘They should use live ammo…’ glancing down at my hands I saw the tell-tale signs of the luminous glow and began to hear and feel the explosions echo in the sky. ‘They should have used the ammo…’
~In the Sininon region~
“Sir! Radio contact has been severed.” Dr. Richards bowed his head, though not in defeat. “Should we send more enforcers to that site?”
“No. she would have moved on by now.” he replied shaking his head. “It just means we have to be more discreet.” he smirked. “So we found you Neon… It’ll only be a matter of time before we find you again.”
~Kitsune’s Perspective~
“Where did you go Kit?” Reena and Anya had been probing me with questions since I got back, my untamed side now quietly sleeping within me. We were walking along the road going back to the house where they stayed, at the same time assuring me that I wouldn’t be in anyone’s way if I joined them.
“This is really not a big deal you know.” I murmured to Reena
“You are not sleeping on the streets any more.” she said sternly
“Besides we’re here!” Anya chirped. I looked up at the establishment I allowed them to bring me too and shook my head. It’s true most of the houses here were big, but this was bordering on ridiculous. “Come on come on!!!” Anya grabbed my hand and proceeded to drag me inside.
She got me threw the door and, letting my hands go, threw herself inside the foyer and spun around “Isn’t it great?”
“Aren’t you just bursting with energy?” I asked shaking my head.
“Are you always such a sour puss?” Kerri asked me looking bemused. I looked at her but didn’t say anything.
“Yes she is. You’ll have a time just trying to get her to talk.” Reena answered for me, reaching her hands up and resting them on my shoulders making a show of pushing me into the building. “And you,” she directed her voice to me, “You would not believe who’s taking care of us.” for the first time in ages, I felt curiosity mar my features as I turned to Reena.
“Who?”
“I’m shocked! She can show emotion!” Kerri stated with her hands dramatically in front of her face. “How do you do it Reena?”
“Enough Kerri.” Jake said slowly, his eyes on the wilting flowers on the table where Anya had sat in front of. I followed his gaze and was rewarded with the sight of the flowers being rejuvenated “I’ll go tell her we have a new guest.”
“Are you going to tell me anything?” I asked looking at Reena out of the corner of my eye. She shook her head and I had to wait until I heard the sound of footsteps again. By this time I had already walked around and taken in much of the surroundings. When I turned to the steps the sound was coming from I saw Jake’s sneakers followed by someone in a white coat and I tensed.
“Not what you think Kit.” Reena warned as my defenses went up. I resisted the urge to destroy the building and everyone in it until I saw her face.
“It’s been a while hasn’t it Riona.”
