Chapter Six: Traitorous
Two Years Later, Autumn
The twin boys sat on either side of Monica, all three of them dressed in black clothes, being labeled by their peers as “gothic”, as they watched their grandmother yell at their father for allowing them to become delinquents. The two oldest were the only ones causing trouble though, and they hated the fact that she would bring their sister into the mess. Monica, however, didn’t mind it. She would always try to mimic her brothers, without getting in trouble, of course. Since there wasn’t much she could do about her clothing matching theirs, she started to just wear black dresses, t-shirts and skirts. Her older brothers, though, were in the black, baggy jeans, black shirts that matched, but then they started to differ. Nagami wore more chains and jewelry than Kagami did, and Kagami wore make-up and painted his nails black while Nagami didn’t. All three of them had dyed their once brown hair to black.
“You should just let the police keep them,” the old woman scolded her son. “How can you keep mutts in your home this long?”
“Mother, stop talking about them like that,” Jacob said. “They’re not dogs.”
“I’ll talk about them however way I want!” shrieked Janice. “Those two belong on the streets, where you found your precious little prostitute!”
Nagami stood up. “Stop fucking talking about her, you fucking bitch!!”
The woman glared at him. “Watch your mouth, child. I suppose Jacob never told you the truth about that whore. She worked the streets and got pregnant, and then had the nerve to marry my son!”
The teen was ready to punch her, but Kagami jumped up and held his twin’s fist back. “Don’t do it, Nagami. Think before you act.”
“Then she should fucking think before she opens her big fat mouth!!!” Nagami shouted, turning his hate-filled glare on his brother. “And why the hell aren’t you standing up for Mom, huh?!! You traitor!!”
Kagami landed on the floor after his brother’s other fist swung around and punched him in the head. It hurt, but not as much as his twin’s words just then. Traitor…?
“Nagami, stop it!” pleaded their sister. “Please, stop hurting Kagami!” The older boy looked down at his sister, his anger lessening as he watched the tears start to fall.
“I’m sorry, Monica,” he said, trying to comfort her as he kneeled down and hugged her. “I’m sorry…”
Jacob turned to his mother. “Please leave my home. You’re not welcome here anymore.”
Janice grimaced, but turned on her heel. “I’ll remember to keep your family out of my will, Jacob… Good bye.” She retreated out the front door, sick and tired of her son and his family of misfits. They had even gone and corrupted the little girl. It was too much for her to handle anymore. She was certain that before long, the two boys would be in jail for murder, and the girl would be out on the streets selling her body, just like Sierra had.

Kagami sat in their bedroom alone for awhile that night. He knew that Nagami was just upset when he punched him, but the pain was still fresh, especially as he kept thinking about the words that went along with it. Was he really a traitor for not saying anything? He started to feel that his twin could very well be right, but he didn’t want to believe it. He had loved their mother dearly too. He hated what their grandmother said about her too. But he didn’t say anything, and now Nagami probably hated him for it. Why did things have to get so out of control? he wondered quietly.
He glanced at the clock when he heard Nagami come in later that night, surprised to see that it said 4:30 AM. Why was he up so late? Kagami looked up at his brother when he sat down beside him on the bed, the smell of alcohol quite strong on the other sixteen-year-old. “So, sorry about earlier,” Nagami tried telling his brother, his words slurring as he spoke.
“Nagami, what the hell? You know you’re not supposed to be drinking.” Kagami sighed at his twin. “Go to bed.”
“I don’t wanna go to bed yet…”
“Bro, you’re drunk,” said Kagami. “And you need to sleep.”
“Hehe.” Kagami blinked. Did Nagami actually giggle??? “Kagami, you’re so cute, you know?”
Kagami sighed. His brother was drunker than he thought. “Riiight, sure, now go to bed, you big idiot.”
“No, no… Not yet.” Nagami grinned at his twin. “I think I need to show you something.”
Rolling his eyes, the boy dared to ask, “What?”
Nagami then crawled up to his unsuspecting brother, and, after Kagami turned his head to look at him, kissed him. The kiss was simple enough, and Kagami wasn’t reacting negatively… well, wasn’t reacting at all due to shock, but Nagami got braver in his drunken state, pushing his tongue into his twin’s mouth. Kagami started to feel his brother’s hands ghost up his sides. He knew he had to stop him before things went too far, but he couldn’t move. His body was frozen in place. What the hell??? was all he could think as Nagami pushed him back onto the bed and crawled on top of him, grinning at him some more before leaning down to lick at his neck, going through the forbidden dreams he had for so many years. This was going to be a night to remember… if only he could.
