Chapter Six
"There is only one reason why Conor is here and that is Eli," Sebastian said in a calm voice that masked his worries.
"Yes, your highness; and it seems like this time he will stop at nothing to get his hands on Eli," Nicholas said, reminding his king the reason why he made Eli his consort.
"Nicholas, I want you to place two guards to guard Jamie and Eli’s chambers tonight."
"Yes your highness."
"One more thing, your highness, the King of Sara has requested a meeting with you regarding the King of Siren’s eldest son, Kade."
Sebastian sighed. "What does that fat man want with the King of Siren’s eldest son?"
"I believe that he wants the boy’s hand in marriage and is properly seeking your help in convincing the King of Siren to let him have his son."
Sebastian sighed. "Nicolas, inform him that I will see him two days from now. I also want you to learn what you can about the King of Sara; I want to know everything about him before I make my decision regarding this matter. Do you understand?"
"Yes your highness."
"Good, if there is nothing else to report to me then you are dismissed."
Nicholas bowed and took his leave.
=============
"Jamie, that robe really brings out your figure. I didn’t even know that you had such a nice body — not until today, that is," Eli told him.
"I don’t know, Eli, this robe is too tight. I think I can make out the shape of my buttocks," Jamie said as he turned from side to side, shaking his head.
Eli laughed out loud as he helped the boy down from the stool. "Jamie, trust me, when you put that on that robe on your wedding day, so many eyes will be glued to you, even the King will be jealous."
"Why would the King be jealous of an average looking boy like me?" Jamie asked, finding such a thing impossible. But Eli knew differently. The boy was not average. He was actually a diamond that needed a bit of polishing in order to out shine the rest.
The door to the shop opened before Eli could respond to the boy’s question, revealing Jeffery.
"Are you two done; we need to get back to the castle."
"Yes we are Jeffery, just give us a moment. Jamie needs to change."
Eli stepped aside, revealing to Jeffery how beautiful Jamie was in his wedding robe.
"You look absolutely stunning, consort Jamie."
"I’m nowhere near stunning, but thank you just the same for your kind compliment your highness."
"Father; remember I gave you permission to call me father," Jeffery reminded the boy.
Jamie couldn’t help but let out a big smile that showed how happy he was that the King of Aislin had remembered that he had given him permission to call him father, and not only that he had insisted that he called him father.
"Jeffery, if you don’t mind waiting outside, Jamie needs to change so that we can get out of here," Eli told Jeffery, reminding him that they had to leave soon.
"Sorry, I forgot there for a moment," Jeffery said with a big smile. He opened the door and stepped outside, waiting for the two.
=======
When they arrived back at the castle, Jamie was greeted by a crying Caelane who came rushing out into the court and tightly clung onto him. Jamie pried the boy away from him, gently asking him what was wrong.
Jeffery excused himself and left the court, leaving Jamie and Eli to deal with the crying boy.
"Caelane, what’s wrong?" Jamie asked again as he wiped the boy’s tears away.
"I-I can’t find my daddy anywhere, and father refuses to help me look," Caelane cried, hiccuping.
"If you can’t find your daddy on your own, how about you and I, plus Eli here, help you look for your daddy? How does that sound, Caelane?"
Caelane nodded his head. Jamie patted the boy on the head and picked him up, carrying him inside to look for his dad. Eli followed right beside him.
====
Arian woke up in a strange room, on a strange bed, naked beside the man that had agreed to help him get his position back. He shifted to the side and pulled the blanket closer to his naked body. He couldn’t believe that he actually did it again. He had slept with someone else beside his husband. The first time was when he was still married to Jeff, and now he did it to Leon.
A hand came up and turned him around. "Having some regrets already?" The man asked him with a smile that did not match his voice. It was like the man was mocking him for having a tiny bit of regret for cheating on Leon. He shook his head in answer to the man’s question.
"Good, now get on top of me and ride me hard and fast, while I tell you about the plan that I had in mind," the man commanded with a smirk. Arian complied, the tiny bit of guilt he felt before vanquished as he rode the man with no shame or guilt. The only thought in his mind was that he was going to be a consort.
==========
"Kade, did you find Caelane?" Leon asked, worried for what might’ve happened to his little boy since he couldn’t seem to find him anywhere.
"No father, I still haven’t found him yet."
Leon was beginning to feel scared. The look on his face had turned into one of worry and anxiety. He turned toward Kade."You go look for him at the courtyard, and I’ll go this way to the castle playroom; that is the only two places that we haven’t check yet," Leon told him.
Kade nodded his head and headed straight in the direction of the courtyard, while his father headed in the opposite direction.
"Caelane! "Kade called as he came around the corner heading to the courtyard. But before he could reach the courtyard, a hand came up and grabbed him from the back, covering his mouth with a cloth that blocked his airway. He struggled with all his might until one of his boot’s slipped off his foot from all the kicking he did. He soon lost consciousness. The unknown assailant picked him up and carried him away.
=========
Leon, unaware of what happened to Kade, headed to the castle playroom, when he suddenly bumped into Eli, causing him to spill the pudding he was holding in his hand.
"Why are you in such a hurry, King Siren?" Eli asked as he bent down to clean up the mess on the floor.
Leon knew that it was his fault, so he bent down to help before answering. "I’m looking for my son, Caelane. He’s missing; I can’t seem to find him anywhere."
"Oh I see, if you are looking for Caelane then I suggest that you follow me. I know where he is and you might be a bit surprised as well," Eli told him.
Leon let out a sigh of relief. Thank heaven his little boy was all right. He was glad that he came this way, or else he would still be looking for Caelane without knowing that he was safe.
======
Jamie held onto Caelane’s hand firmly in his grasp as they walked down the hall, turning the corner to the courtyard. He stopped and bent down when he spotted a black boot with an outline of silver along the side. Who’s boot was this, and what was it doing out here lying on the floor? He wondered. He found it very strange and odd. Nobody in their right mind would leave their boot behind, especially not one that looked expensive as this one.
"Ah, that’s my brothers boot," Caelane told him when he recognized it.
"Your brothers? What is it doing here?" Jamie asked with a bewildered look as he tried to figure out why the boy’s brother would just leave his boot like that.
"I don’t know, maybe he lost it," he answered him unsurely.
Jamie didn’t get to ask Caelane further questions since his father, the King of Siren showed up, relief written all over his face when he saw his son was safe and sound.
"Caelane, don’t you ever wander off anywhere without letting your father know; do you understand?" Leon demanded in a firm voice as he reached out and hugged his son.
"I’m sorry father, for making you worry. I promise that I will tell you first before I go off somewhere on my own."
"Good." Leon then looked at Jamie. "I want to thank you for looking after my son."
"No problem, your son and I have become friends. And it was nothing at all, so there is no need for you to thank me," Jamie said without any anger toward the man that had put him in this situation. In some sort of way, Jamie guessed that he couldn’t really be that mad at the King for doing what he could to try and save his people from a war that would result in people losing their lives.
Leon then noticed the boot in Jamie’s hand. "Why do you have Kade’s boot in your hand?" He asked.
"Caelane and I found it right here, and was wondering what it was doing lying on the floor when you came."
Leon knew instantly that something had happen to his son. "I’m going to look for Kade; can you look after Caelane for me?" He asked Jamie.
Jamie nodded his head and Leon took off in search of his eldest son.
"Eli, why don’t you bring Caelane to the playroom, while I go look for the King."
Eli knew what the boy was thinking, and he thought that it was a very smart thing to do. "Caelane let’s go see if Devin’s in the playroom."
Caelane nodded his head. Eli took his hand and they both left to the playroom.
When they were gone, Jamie turned and headed to the throne room where he knew that the King would be at this time of day.
"Jamie!"
Jamie turned when he heard his dad call him."What do you want?" he asked with a not so friendly voice.
Arian walked over to his son, smiling, and before Jamie could guess what he was doing, Arian stabbed Jamie in the stomach with a gold dagger dipped in poison made with the blood of a poisonous Nary. Jamie gripped his dad’s shoulder as his face turned into one of pain and disbelief that his own dad would actually do this to him.
"W-wh-y?"
Arian put his arms around his son. "Don’t blame me Jamie, this is what I have to do to get what I want the most for myself."
Arian patted his son on the back. A single drop of tear slid down Jamie’s cheek as his eyes closed and darkness consumed him. The grip he had on his dad loosened, and his arms fell to the side, his head landing on his dad’s shoulders.
=======
Demetrius was the one to find Jamie. The first thing he did was check to see if the boy was alive. He took the boy’s hand and felt for a pulse. He was relieved when he felt a faint pulse, and without further delay, he carried the boy. The only place he could think of was the throne room where his King was at this moment.
"Hang in there boy, don‘t die on us. Don‘t you dare die on us!" Demetrius demanded as he carried the boy up the stairs, ignoring the aches and pains in his muscles. He tripped and fell a few times and twisted his ankle. He ignored the burning pain as he picked the boy back up and continued carrying him all the way to the throne room.
Demetrius kicked the heavy door opened with his injured foot, causing it to be in more burning pain, which he totally ignored.
Sebastian caught the sight of Jamie’s unconscious body in the nick of time, as Demetrius fell to the floor.
Seeing the condition that Jamie was in, Sebastian didn’t need words to tell him what had happened. His insides were burning with mad rage. He was even more furious when he saw the dagger that had pierced Jamie in the stomach. He recognized the dagger and knew who was responsible. His face turned livid. The furious look he had on his face was so fearsome that even his wolf would not dare come close to him.
"Summon Theron to Jamie’s chamber right away," he angrily barked through gritted teeth.
Nicholas, who was also in the room, was checking up on Demetrius when he heard the command. He dashed to his feet and headed straight away to find Theron.
"There is only one reason why Conor is here and that is Eli," Sebastian said in a calm voice that masked his worries.
