Rape Kit

A bit short. But, it'll work. Took an hour and a half to write because I was writing while... dubbing a movie. No, I'm not ubber talented, we shut off subtitles and make up our own plot as we go along. It can be good amounts of fun or very confusing.

Read, Review and Enjoy.

“And once we have that all wrapped up and taken care of?” the dark man moved from once side of the dark room to the other, fingers trailing over the mahogany furniture that was arranged so neatly, so perfectly in Illuva’s pattern of chaos. Perfect pattern of chaos? Then is the chaos not ordered and therefore not of chaos at all?

Focus shifted.

The woman was drawing a jade comb through her fine brown hair. She paused, the comb still in her long locks as her head turned towards the dark man. Brown eyes met black.

“The trade has not been finalized,” the woman murmured in response, “but for the moment…”

“No, darling, lover, ayata mesuun,” the dark man knelt at her feet, laying his hands atop her leg as she continued to comb her hair, “once this is wrapped up and taken care of. What then?”

“Then?” she looked puzzled, as if the idea of it being over had never occurred to her before, “Then we will deal with it when it comes to that.”

Rel woke with a start and immediately rolled in the infirmary bed as he coughed up blood and mucus. The rib had punctured his lung. The med team had pulled out the bone, popped open the lung, but he still had the nasty job of coughing up what was left in his lungs.

Imagine his surprise when he found Rahluen sitting beside his bed. The older man sighed and turned the page to his book, glancing over the edge and Rel and then back down. A small frown creased Rahluen’s brow, his eyes darted back to Rel.

“You’ve awakened.”

Rel closed his eyes against the too bright light of the infirmary and groaned. He tried to sit up. His temples throbbed, the pressure inside his skull was too much for him to take. Rel gave up and laid back down on the bed.

“Problem?” Rahluen asked quietly.

“Headache,” his own voice was like a dozen, massive temple bells going off inside his head. A dozen massive bells crammed inside his head and then wrung all at once.

“From where. Temples? Back of your head?”

“Everywhere,” Rel murmured, groaning as he covered his head with an arm.

A quick jab, the hiss of a need and almost immediately the pain began to subside. Rel sighed out in relief and moved to thank the person who had given him the drug, only to find that Rahluen held the needle. The older man arched an eyebrow at Rel’s surprise.

“Broken rib, punctured lung. Bruising along the torso,” Rahluen sighed, “what did you do this time?”

“I said no.”

“To what?”

“Sex.”

Rahluen’s frown returned, “did they rape you afterwards?”

“Fucked if I know,” Rel muttered in response.

Rahluen called a nurse over and instructed her to perform a rape kit. So Rel got the pleasure of having something shoved up his ass and to have his private parts photographed for evidence as Rahluen began building a case against the culprit.

Once the nurse had given Rel one last shot and had left with her kit. Rel covered himself properly and turned to Rahluen.

“Fuck off already.”

“No.”

“Just let me die.”

“No,” Rahluen snapped back, “you will die when Rahl-ta is done with you, not before. You will die when the gods deem your life of no more value, not before.”

“What use am I to the gods?” Rel murmured back, “a beaten, broken, pathetic excuse for a man. To be executed sometime in the next two months, for a double murder. What use could the gods possibly have for me?”

Rahluen thought for a very long moment, “a man who is about to be put to death has no ties to the world as it is, and only has ties to the gods. To have nothing to live for can give a man such clarity that the only voices he hears are the voices of the gods.”

Rel snorted his annoyance.

“If you stopped dragging me back into the world of the living,” Rel muttered, “I would have died a long time ago. And I would have been happier.”

“If you’re mad at me now, just wait until you find out what I’ve gotten you into,” Rahluen muttered in an amused tone, “the appeal will start in fourteen days. The signs are in our favour. The moon rises through the circle, six of each animal have I seen on my way to the prison. The gods are in favour of us.”

“Perhaps you read it wrong, perhaps the D.A. was driving here at the same time and the favour is for him, instead?” Rel mumbled, feeling everything grow heavy, “what was in that last shot?”

“A sedative.”

“Why did you…” Rel slid back into unconsciousness.
