Nothing Left

I pulled away and sat up. “What do you mean?” He remained where he was, sprawled on the floor with a content look on his face and his eyes closed.
“That’s what I mean. A war. Between the mortal world and the magical one. It appears that creatures such as the were-wolf are getting just a tad bit annoyed with all the gruesome movies made.”
My jaw dropped. “That’s it?! That’s the reason?! There’s going to be a war because of a couple movies?!”
He shrugged his shoulders and then laughed when I stood and headed towards the dress that had been left in the center of the room. With a snap of his fingers, it disappeared and I turned around to see him standing with it in his hand. “Come and get it.”
I refused and instead crossed my arms over my chest. “There are other reasons as well,” He sighed when he saw I wasn’t budging. “Mortals are weak, so the magical world wants to turn them into slaves.”
“What about witches? They’re considered human. Why would they join this fight?”
“Ever heard of The Salem witch trials?” He asked bluntly and then stretched his legs and arms.
I began to pace, a dozen possibilities running through my head. “So, why are you telling me this?” I asked when it finally hit me that he wanted something more from me this time.
He didn’t respond back at first, but then slowly made his way towards me. It took everything I had not to back away from him. “Because I want you safe. And I need your help.”
“My help?” The words came out in a whisper. Did he honestly just ask me, the girl he kidnapped, chained up, raped, and stalked, for help? How bloody stupid was he anyway? “What can I do that you can’t? There’s nothing.”
“No, there’s something. Among the group of mortals there is a pact bent on destroying vampires. Only, vampires. They’ve had it in fro me for a longtime now. And I can’t seem to shake them.”
I laughed in his face then snatched the dress out of his hands quickly putting it back on. “And what? You expect me to shake them for you? Give you money to flee the country? What? Besides that, you’re forgetting one very important detail, I HATE YOU! They’d be doing me a favor if they rid me of you.”
He flinched at the harshness in my tone, but nothing else more other then get angry. Very, very, angry. Guess he wasn’t the only stupid one here. “Actually, I need you to infiltrate their base and remove my file from their archives. And you really don’t have a choice, just so you know.”
“There’s nothing you can do to me if I refuse Ash. You’ve already taken everything.” My voice came out exhausted and depressed, and I wanted to slap myself for letting my weariness show. I was so close to giving in, and Ash knew it.
“Not everything.”
I frowned when I didn’t get his meaning, and then for some reason unknown, passed out.
