-----------------------------------------------
Jin woke up with a smile just as the sun was starting to creep over the horizon. He opened his eyes to the site of it rising bit by bit. He loved waking up to the sun's song. Not many creatures of this world could hear it... but being of elf heritage had it's advantages. He buried his head in Kuriin's chest, rubbing back and forth on him.
Kuriin smoothed the waking boy's hair with his free hand and murmured softly, "Sleep well?" Starting to stretch a bit, as Jin moved, to ease the stiffness of a night spent on the ground.
Stretching up, he placed a soft kiss on his lips. "Very. I've never slept so well before. Thank you."
"Mmmm." Returning the kiss, a lazy grin tipping his lips upward. Then stifled a yawn, untangling their limbs a bit more. "I'm sorry," he said apologizing for the yawn. "I'm afraid I'm going to have to catch some food soon. You hungry? We can go to town if you like."
"That's fine," he said, stumbling to his feet. He stretched, bending his back, dropping Kuriin's cloak to reveal his naked body. He moaned ecstatically as his back popped releasing the tension. He held out his hand to Kuriin. "I'll help you up," he offered.
The grin widened as his eyes razed the unabashedly naked elf's body, exquisite in form. "Keep doing that and we won't be going anywhere, mien lieb." He crawled up to his knees and pulled Jin in to hug him around the waist, laying a small kiss on his hip before resting his cheek against his flat belly. "Best get yourself dressed before we go," he chuckled.
"Oh, must I?" he pouted. He reached for his clothing, quickly putting it on. "I'm starving!" he announced. He leaned forward and placed a kiss on his forehead. "Your turn to get dressed while I watch." He stepped back to admire his lover.
Kuriin only chuckled more. He seemed to do that a lot more in Jin's company. It'd been so long since he'd had anything to smile about. He found that he liked the feeling. He wasn't quite the showman that Jin was, but managed to tease a little by doing a miniature reverse strip. Good humour twinkling in his eyes despite the growing urges reminding him to feed soon. He pushed it back vehemently, not wishing to ruin the beautiful morning, savoring the memory of the feel of Jin sleeping so peacefully in his arms. He grabbed his bag and Jin's hand possessively. "You ready, then?" After stealing another kiss from those addictive lips.
"Yes, sir!" he said grinning smartly, squeezing Kuriin's hand which dwarfed his own by at least half. He smiled brightly up at Kuriin, eyes twinkling. "Let's eat!" His cheerful smile fading as his face darkened, "and then let's take care of our business."
They made their way into town, Kuriin taking them back to the bad side. He hated doing that, for Jin's sake, but he refused to draw from the decent folks who tried to scrape out an honest living. The Golden Nag was another of Kuriin's regular feeding grounds. The owners were aware of his sometimes need for a room, so when he approached the bar with a slight nod, the tap boy on duty tossed him a key. "Let me drop my bag in the room, while you find a table... in a corner, if you please." He always preferred to keep to the darker corners, even during daylight hours when they weren't quite as dark. "Order whatever you like." Eyes skipping over the thin morning crowd briefly, before heading up the stairs to the inn part of the pub.
Jin sat down at a table in a corner. His need to be away from people growing as Kuriin walked away from him. He asked the waitress to bring two glasses of water. "Thank you," he said to her as she walked off.
A man came stumbling to his table. "You're a pretty lad," he drawled. "You with anyone?"
Jin glared at him. "I'm not interested," he bit out.
"Ah c'mon, pretty boy... I've got some sweets in my pocket!" He let out a an uproarious laugh at his own innuedo. Then he reached forward and grabbed his arm, pulling the elf out of his seat.
Jin struggled against the brute. "Let. Me. Go!!" he demanded, angrily.
Kuriin had barely shut the door to the room behind him when he felt the pull of Jin's anger and fear course along the bond they shared. He streaked out and down the stairs in a blur of efficient movement. The sight of the brutish ape manhandling Jin and the force of the hunger caused him a momentary rush of fury. He let it have it's head for a split second before snapping it down to a cold rage, features completely expressionless, eyes empty except for the flicker of the calculated cunning of the hunter, edged with the traces of the hunger within their depths. He settled a heavy hand on the man's shoulder, gripping it tightly in warning. "Jin, is this fellow bothering you?" His words low and dark.
Jin snapped his head towards Kuriin. "He was Just Leaving..," he bit out, looking at the man.
The brute was dumb. He didn't even bat an eye at the concealed warning. He pulled the struggling Jin closer, sniffing him. "Uuh... been a long time since I had a boy. The last one died while I was fucking him. How dare he bite me!!" he said righteously. "But you won't bite, will you?" he asked slurring his words.
Shit. He didn't want to cause undue attention. He formulated a quick plan in his head and hoped like hell that Jin wouldn't hate him for using him so carelessly. His eyes glancing at Jin briefly, 'Please trust me,' he thought hard at the boy. Kuriin let a slow smile curve his lips that never came close to his eyes. "Of course he won't bite, will you, Jin? I'll make sure he won't struggle too much for you. He is a sweet piece of ass... I'd love to watch you fuck the shit out of him. Even give you a copper for the show." His words were intentionally cruel. "I've got a room upstairs. I'll even let you use it so you won't have to wait to taste such succulent flesh." As dumb as the ox was, he still used his charm to it's fullest, the tiniest tendril of the spell whispering in the ogre of a man's ear. He risked another glance at Jin again, softening his eyes briefly when he knew the man was ogling the struggling boy.
Jin stopped struggling as a small grin formed on his face. "Of course, I won't bite... unless, of course, you like that..," he whispered to the man. "Come," he beckoned, as he began walking towards the stairs. He led the man unresisting to the door and then turned back to Kuriin. "What room?" he mouthed.
Kuriin mentally sighed with relief. "Let me get the door for you," allowing a malicious edge to his voice, not all of it feigned, and turned the key.
Jin barely hid his grin as he ushered the dazed man into the room. He shut the door behind him plunging the room into darkness as there were no windows.
The moment the door softly clicked shut, Kuriin allowed the hunger to leap forward and he rushed the man in a savage attack. Plunging his teeth ruthlessly into the clueless man's neck so fiercely the skin tore with a wet ripping sound. Kuriin did nothing to soften the pain as the man gasped in surprise and then struggled weakly against his brutal, iron grip. He fed off the fear and pain as well as sucking in the drunk's blood forcefully. The the man was making gurgling sounds and the sound of his frantic heartbeat was loud in his ears. He bit harder, pulling the now slumping man more tightly into his almost sexual embrace, going down to the floor with him. Then it was over. Kuriin tore away from the now dead man, arching his back, chin tilted toward the ceiling, catching the edges of his mouth with his tongue in ecstasy, moaning in pleasure. Jin, for a minute, forgotten in the dark room.
"Better?" Jin asked laying a hand on his back. Jin wasn't horrified at all. It'd be kind of stupid of him to be with a vamp and not expect him to feed. Being an elf, he was able to see through the darkness. He watched Kuriin feed with delight. "You're kind of hot when you feed," he said. "So intense..." He shivered with desire... mind and body warring with each other.
Jin's voice and touch startled him out of the almost orgasmic sensations coursing his veins. He stayed seated back on his haunches in silence for another couple moments, then peered up into Jin's lust filled face. Sanity returning quickly. He stood up and faced the elf with a concerned look on his face. "Jin...," he whispered sadly. Damn it. "I want you to know... I don't prefer to feed that way." A very small frown touching his lips. He glanced at the dead body and tossed a copper that landed heavily on the corpse's chest. Then he rushed to encircle the elf's waist with his arms and lifted him to the bed. His forehead resting on his small shoulder, as they sat together. He let out a ragged sigh, not quite a sob. "I'm sorry..." He paused. "I need you to be horrified, Jin." he murmured quietly into the silence. Could he bring the elf to understand? Then he cradled his face in his hand and kissed him deeply.
"But I'm not... I can never be horrified." Kuriin's confusion and anguish calmed his desire. "I love you. All of you... I love your Vampire self, I love your Demon self, I love your Human self. And that's not going to change. Even if you stopped being one of them, my love for you will be the same. I love you."
He held Kuriin's cheek between his hands as he tried to make him understand that nothing was going to change that fact.
Confusion flitted across his features, then settled into a sad smile. He could see the pleading in his face. "I never wanted you to see...," he said half-heartedly. He brushed his lips across his brow, pulling his fingers through the elf's hair, slowly. "So beautiful," he sighed. Not being able to figure out how, nor why the boy could see him and still love him. He trailed his hand down his back in slow sweeping motions, causing the youth to shiver in delight. "It's hard for me to understand, Jin, but I love you, too," his voice barely above a whisper.
"You better," he said trying to lighten the moment. And then a horrified thought crossed his mind. He knelt in front of Kuriin. Taking his hands into his, "You're not going to leave me, are you?" he asked strickened in fear. "You're not going to decide that it's for my own good?" He threw his arms around Kuriin's neck. It scared him how attached to Kuriin he was and they barely met. "I need you!"
He returned the embrace warmly. "No. I'm not going to leave you." Humor creeping back into his voice, "I'm much too selfish to let you go now." He never wanted to let the boy go, he realized, surprising himself once again. He pulled back slightly and smiled gently. "Let's go get you something to eat and then I'll worry about the corpse later." He scowled. "That's another reason I don't like it that way... at least after. Garbage disposal. Ugh. Quite distasteful." He shivered, then laughed. "You'd think it wouldn't bother me as much as I've seen of it." He stood up, reaching a hand down, affection lighting his eyes in the darkness.
"'K," he murmured standing up with him. Then his stomach growled. "I guess I am hungry..." He grabbed Kuriin's hand, interlaced their fingers. "I want some biscuits and beef stew once we get back down there," he demanded cutely. "And a slice of apple cobbler! Never too early for cobbler," he stated. He pulled Kuriin out of the dark room. His appreciation of windows increased. He looked at Kuriin meaningfully. "You will never be in the dark again." He, then, switched again. "C'mon Kuriin... food awaits me!!"
He laughed at the boy's exuberance and they headed back down to the pub area. Ordering everything Jin wanted, wanting to cater to his every whim. He sat back casually in his seat, puffing on one cigarette after another and nursing a pint, delighting in the gusto with which Jin shoveled in the food, occasionally tossing a glance around the room.
Jin leaned forward and place a kiss on Kuriin's lips. Unaware there was food stuck on the corner of his mouth. "So what's the game plan?" he asked with his mouth full.
Kuriin brushed his thumb across the boy's mouth with an indulgent smile. "I honestly haven't given it much thought," he said seriously. "I'd planned on staying away from the house for at least a couple days. I'm afraid when it comes right down to it, I'm not much good at being subtle. I've only ever either killed my enemies or ran away. Nothing between." He sighed. "I'd like to hear your opinion on how you would want to deal with this little 'problem'."
"I'd rather someone else do the killing," Jin answered truthfully. "You've had enough to last you through eternity." He reached out and placed a kiss on Kuriin's hand before turning back to his food. "You said you had connections... I think its time to use them again."
"Mmm, that is a possibility. What did you have in mind? It would depend on who I contacted." His brow furrowed, thinking. "I could put out a price on their heads, or there's financial ruin. That could be rebuilt, though. Could have them incapacitated; left alive, yet unable to properly function. It's your call, Jin. This is your deal; your revenge. Of course, we can still run; that is always an option."
Jin sat back, finally finishing his stew and biscuits. "I like the thought of them alive but not able to do a damn thing. It's the worse kind of torture out there." His eyes twinkled. "Make sure its painful... No one should threaten children."
He nodded slightly. "Okay, then. I'll need names, descriptions, hang-outs, addresses... the whole nine yards, for all of them. Can you do that? I believe I know of a group that can help us; met them some time back. Purely mental and magical stuff. Nothing physical. They don't live close by, but I have... have my ways of getting in touch with them. Would that suit?" He smiled into his eyes, reaching for his hands, kissing the back of each one with a brush of his lips.
He shivered. "It would suit very well," he murmured. "You will have that list," he said with determination. "Have I said that I loved you, lately?" He tilted his head.
"I seem to recall..." He smiled. He pressed into his lips lightly, then whispered into his ear, breathily, "I am yours... whatever is in my power to do..." He traced an invisible line with his thumb on palm of Jin's hand. "I need the list as soon as possible, then I'll need a few hours to.. make contact. It could be as long as a week after that. Will this be a problem? We'll have to stay here, I'm afraid, until things blow over. That I wish I could change for you. Take you to a finer inn..." He sighed. "But, I will try to make it bearable for you," he said with a smile.
"I've been in worse... this is like a five star inn to me," he stated. "And the food is great. Best stew I've had in ages. I will get the list to you this afternoon," he promised.
"Good. I'll get rid of the uninvited guest while you make the list. I'll have Tobes keep an eye on you so there's not a repeat of earlier. You're just too damned cute and sexy for your own good." He grinned.
He stuck his tongue out at him, playfully. But feeling grateful for the extra protection.
