Jacob Gillespie
A/N: Sorry if this took so long but I was suffering from that infamous WB (writer's block). But here's the next chap peeps. I hope you enjoy for I was pleased with it.

Ch. 5
Jacob Gillespie
The class went by too quickly. Calista mostly went over the syllabus and reminded which books they would need. Ariana already had all of them. She had two reasons for signing up for this class. One was because she wanted to learn about the culture as much as possible cause the play she wrote was based in English Medieval Times and she also she felt a ‘push’ to take it.
“Okay, now that I’ve covered all the boring stuff, I want to hear about you guys. Please give me that name you want to be referred by, your major if you have one, and why you took this class. Than that’ll be it for the day so you-all are lucky. We‘ll start right here in the front in front of my desk and we‘ll move horizontally.” grinned Calista.
Ariana happened to be the first one. Ariana never liked being on the spot like this. But she swallowed her shyness and stood up.
“Hi, my name is Ariana. Some call me Ari. I am an English major, and am a minor in Theatre. I took this class cause I am a playwright and I wanted to learn about English culture for a play I’ve created.” she replied.
“Thank-you Ariana.” Calista nodded.
Next was Jacob.
“Good day everyone. My name is Jacob. I am an Architecture major and I took this course simply because I wanted to try something different.” Jacob answered, sometimes glancing at Ariana.
What was wrong with him?, Jacob thought. Even though Jacob was a fanciful man, he never felt pulled to the opposite sex. Well, he felt something now. He was glad that he knew her name now too cause he was curious about her. Ariana. It didn’t sound of this Earth for some reason and had a lyrical ring to it. Her appearance was as fascinating as her name too. She looked like a life size pixie with her beguiling eyes and soft features. After Jacob sat back down, he glanced at his professor and for moment had to do a double take between Calista and Ariana. Impossible. They couldn’t be sisters or related could they? He heard that Ms. Dawson wasn’t from here. But the two had the same bone structure and almost had the same hair. Curious by nature, Jacob intended to dig into this interesting situation. Not to mention that he wanted to find out more about Ariana. He was jerked out of his thoughts when Calista spoke again.
“Okay I thank you for your time to today. We’ll go ahead and get out of class early today. Next class we’ll get to the fun stuff. Have a nice day and I’ll see you soon.” nodded Calista, dismissing the class.
As soon as she did that, most of the girls in the room got up and crowded around Jacob, including several guys. Ariana wasn’t one of them, although she was curious about him.
“I guess I’ll find out about him another time.” she thought to herself before exiting the class.
Calista watched Ariana as her student left. She also watched Jacob as he tried to follow her but was unsuccessful as majority of the students surrounded him. She decided to come to the rescue. Her next class wasn’t for another hour anyway. So gathering up her belongings, Calista came up to the ‘mob’.
“Mr. Gillespie? I still need to clear a few more things with you. Care to join me in my office?” Calista asked, catching the attention of them all.
Jacob would had sighed in relief, but didn’t.
“Yes Ms. Dawson.” he replied, stepping away from the crowd.
“Thank you and I suggest the rest of you get to your next class or whatever else you have to do.”
The two walked off.
“So what else do you need to discuss with me Ms. Dawson?” asked Jacob.
“Actually, I just thought you needed rescuing there. You certainly know how to draw a crowd Mr. Gillespie.”
Jacob laughed, “Well I didn’t back home. And yes I did need rescuing there. I kind of figured that people would be curious about me, but I wasn’t expecting that kind of reaction.”
“Yes, especially if someone is not from this country.”
“You don’t sound like your from this country either Ms. Dawson.”
Calista had to work hard not to react to that. She wondered how he would react if she told him she wasn’t even from this planet. Probably not believe her or think she was crazy. Where Calista came from, they had spoke another language and whole different dialect as well. But lucky for her and her sisters, they studied the different languages of not only her planet, but Earth’s most common languages too. Calista was fluent in English, French, German, Japanese, and many others. She worked hard to cover up her natural accent, but at times she was so at ease with someone she forgot, like now.
“Well, I am from another state. So I am new to this area as well.” Calista replied.
Jacob had sensed her reaction and decided not to press it.
“Oh all right. Um can I ask what your age is?”
“Ha ha, I am 26.”
“Yeah I figured you might be that age. Well thanks for rescuing me Ms. Dawson, but I have to get to my next class and its on the other side of the campus.”
“All right. It was nice meeting you Mr. Gillespie. I hope to see you soon.”
Jacob bowed before leaving. Calista took a deep breath as she watched him leave. She had to be careful around this one. He was very clever. But something else was nagging at her too. Ariana. She could sense the connection between her and Jacob and it did worry her because she didn’t know if Jacob would fully accept Ariana if he learned what she was. She would worry about that though when the time came. Right now she had to worry about approaching Ariana and slowly telling her about her past. Stepping into her office, Calista decided to pray that before her next class. The day was turning out to be a roller coaster. She just didn’t know how big it would be.
