Please Don't Go

“Serenity?” Sarai looked at her daughter sadly. It had been a hard couple of days for the overly protective mother. “Serenity please talk to me.”

“Why should I ?”

Serenity wasn’t very happy with her mother right now at all. She didn’t get any kind of peace from the woman. When she tried to share private time with her husband her mother was right there bugging her again! She was beginning to wish she never went to see Healer Jacard. Sarai was only worried about her safety really. Still, one might come to the conclusion that she was being a bit over protective.

“Look I’m sorry alright!” Sarai pulled her daughter from her packing. “I love you honey. I don’t want you hurt. You have been through so much already. Think about this from my point of view. You almost didn’t get your vision back. You were attacked and almost killed. Who knows what else or who else is still out there to get you. When that one woman was attacked she said this wasn’t over.” Sarai forced her daughter to look at her by holding Serenity’s cheek and bringing her eyes up to meet her very red, puffy ones. All the crying Sarai was doing did not help this either. “Please Serenity. Listen to me.”

“Mother.” Serenity sighed and pulled away. “Listen to me. I shouldn’t even be talking to you right now. You yelled at me and made me feel horrid inside. You and everyone else but Silvan have been pressuring me! Well I am not happy! I am stressed out about the whole thing. I wish I would have never gone to see that healer to begin with.” She shoved another set of clothes into her pack unceremoniously. “I know I have not told anyone what the healer said. I don’t know if I want to. You want the truth?”

“Yes.” Sarai barely managed to answer. Her voice wanted to drift away into tears. “I want to know how you feel.”

“I will tell you! I am hurt! I can’t even sleep with my husband without you butting in! I don’t even know how I am supposed to feel about being or not being pregnant. Im only eighteen. Should I want this? I know everyone else in the castle wants me to be. Even Silvan wants me to be pregnant. He is just a lot nicer about it all to me. He actually tries to not push me into a stress level that causes me to pull my own hair out!” Serenity finally looked up at her mother. She did not seem very happy about hearing any of this.”I do love you mother. You just can’t coddle me! All you have managed to do is make me resent being here right now.”

Serenity trembled once again in anger. She could not seem to get a clear thought in her head about any thing anymore. Sarai looked down. She did not want to see her daughter angrily packing as she was. Silvan tried to warn her that Serenity was very moody as of late. He told her that Serenity was likely to explode if she pressed this.

“I’m sorry Serenity.” Sarai choked the words to life between sobs. “I just wanted to protect you so much that I forgot how grown up you were. I still see you as my baby girl that needs my help. I am also sorry about the baby thing. Honey I will love you no matter what. If you are pregnant then you are. If you are not then you aren’t. It will not change how I feel. Please Serenity. I am asking you to forgive me for being stupid.”

“Mom..”

Did her ears deceive her? Her mother was now begging her to forgive her? Sarai sat down on the bed side slowly. Her hands were folded neatly in her lap and her eyes were trained on a small black speck on the floor. She did not want to look at her daughter still being so angry at her.

“I’m sorry.” Serenity was a proud girl. It took a lot for her to do this. “ I don’t hate you mom. I love you very much. I was miserable when you were away from me.” She sat down on the opposite side of her pack and her mother. She some how managed to find that same black speck to look at. “Its just very frustrating when you have so many people pressing you for something.”

“It is okay baby.” Sarai grasped Serenity’s hand and held it. “You had every right to explode as you did. We shouldn’t have put so much stress on you. We all just wanted your safety.”

“I will be fine mother. No matter where I go I will have Silvan with me. He won’t let anything happen to me. I trust him. You should too.” Serenity looked up at her mother finally. “Okay mother?”

“I do trust him. I just..” She paused. Sarai’s hand tightened slightly. “I just don’t ...” She had to hold back tears. She fought this urge. Sarai couldn’t fight it for long however. The pack between she and Serenity only served as a reminder that her daughter was leaving. “Please Serenity.”

“Mom don’t. You know I am going. I am going with my husband. I will not let him go and do this alone.”

“Please don’t go!” Sarai pounced her into a hug that pushed both of them down on the bed. Her head was buried into Serenity’s chest right now. “Please Serenity! Please do not go.”

Her cheeks burned red from a sudden blush. Her mother’s cheek was pressing against her breasts. Her arms were pinned down. Serenity grunted and looked to her mother. This was embarrassing. She hoped that Silvan didn’t walk in all the sudden.

“Mother! Umm..Those..are kind of Silvan’s pillows you know!”

She tried to push away. Serenity was still flushed very bright red, even as her mother smiled and pulled away.

“I am sorry hun. I guess I got carried away.”

“It is okay mom.” Serenity shifted and adjusted her dress a little. “I have to go however. I will not let my husband travel alone to the lands that mad woman came from. She might try something else. As I understand she was only banished from Corinthia.”

“Yes. Veleska did say the goddess could not kill. That would not be very good for a goddess of love, peace and right to do.”

“Than it must be clear to you why I must go. Silvan is my husband. I will not let that mad woman kill him or attempt something else with him.” Serenity could be a little jealous when it came to those thoughts. “You would want to protect father right?”

Sarai sighed and stood up from the bed side. She wished her daughter wouldn’t be so logical about this. It made it hard to be a protective mother! Serenity grinned and stood beside her. She knew that flustered ‘you’re right’ look that her mother had on her face very well.

“I’ll be okay. Right now I would like to finish packing however and possibly see my husband. You have been making time alone with him rather awkward.”

“Sorry hun. I will tell him you’re waiting for him. He is probably pacing just down the hall as we speak anyways.” Sarai smirked. “He seems very dependant on your presence near him at all times.”

“Well he has waited how many years to be with me?”

“I know dear. I know.” Sarai chuckled. “You waited just as long to be with him. You dreamed f him every spare minute you had I believe.”

“Well who wouldn’t? You’ve seen and met him. He is my handsome prince who swept me off my feet without having to be around me.”

“True love my sweet. It is a rare thing. You are lucky to have it.” Sarai pushed the door open.”and before you say it. I know. Your father and I shared something very similar.”

“Now who’s reading minds?” Serenity leaned against the wall and smiled. “I understand what you’re saying though.” She nodded.”I really want to talk to Silvan right now however. If you could please tell him I’m waiting.”

“I will.” Sarai stepped from the open door to the hall.”I think I see him just at the halls end.” She chuckled. “I remember when your father would do that.”

“He still does mother. I bet he is waiting some where close.”

“True.” Sarai grinned. Serenity looked very cute right now in her traveling loin cloth and half top. “See you at lunch.” She waved and walked away. “You will eat more than a few nibbles!”

Serenity sighed and watched her go. That was so not fair. Her mom knew she didn’t have much of an appetite lately. Silvan was already on his way down the hall. He was chuckling about something. Serenity grinned and peeked her head from the door to look at him. He was so handsome. His surcoat showed off his figure. His boots were knee high and black.

“My love.”

“Silvan.” Serenity stepped inside the room. “Mother told you I wished to talk to you yes?”

“She did.” Silvan followed her in and closed the door behind him. “I came as quickly as my feet could carry me.”

“I want to talk to you about the visit to the healer.” She grabbed his hand. Serenity needed to at least tell him. He had been so patient with her. “Okay?”

“I am all yours my love and im all ears.”

He smirked and made his elvish like ear do a little flicker. Serenity chuckled and shook her head. He knew she loved his ears. That was a very naughty thing for him to do.

“You are so bad.”

“I know.” He picked her up into his arms and grinned. “You love me anyways.”

“Silvan!” Serenity ackd and grabbed on to him.”I wish you would warn me before you do that.”

“Where is the fun in that love?”

“Hush. I’m serious. I want to talk before we become otherwise occupied alright?”

“Yes love. I know. I can still hold you while we do Can’t I?”

“Yes silly.” Serenity chuckled. “I love you.”

“I love you too. Now? What was it you wished to talk about again?”

“Oh yeah.” Serenity smiled and kissed his cheek softly. “Healer Jacard.”

“Ahh yes.” Silvan sat on the bed and laid down with her beside him. He propped him self up on one elbow. His cheek in his hand. His other trailed over the gentle rise of her chest. “He is a strange man isn’t he?”

“Yes he is.” Serenity chuckled and let her self be laid back by him. “So you know kind of what I had to go though. Anyways I guess I’ll start from the beginning.”

“That is usually the best place to start love.” Silvan kissed her lips very softly. “You are beautiful.”

“Silvan!” Serenity giggled.”stop that and listen you silly.”

He was being difficult. Serenity didn’t mind. His doting made her feel very loved. She had someone who loved her every breath and her every word. He was her treasure. Yes, she definitely owed this talk to him.

“I’m listening love. I’m just petting you while I do it that’s all.” Silvan chuckled. “You’re so cute and cuddly after all.”

“Cute and cuddly?” Serenity raised a brow. “You have been hitting the wine I think.”

“Have not love. Out with it. Lets skip the beginning for once. What did Healer Jacard say?”

“You know It is about time you asked me directly. You never tell me what you want. It gets really annoying at times.” Serenity leaned up to kiss his lips gently. “You really want to know?”

“Yes I do. Know this however. I will love you either way and I will not be mad.”

“I think you will make a great father Silvan.”Serenity looked up at him and smiled.”I really do.”

“I..” Silvan looked at her. “Are you saying that you are?” He was pushing him self up slightly. “That I am going to ..to..”

“Yes.”Serenity smiled. “I didn’t know how I should feel about it at first. This is a really huge step to take for the both of us. I mean I know we kind of asked for it. We didn’t use protection at all. Still I hope you aren’t mad that I felt unsure about things. It wasn’t easy with everyone poking and prodding their questions at me.”

She squealed and was tossed into the air. Her hands grabbed for his shoulders and neck just as quickly as she could. Serenity had no idea Silvan could Move that Fast! Silvan grinned and pulled her close to him. His lips met hers in a deeply passionate kiss. This news was apparently what he desired to hear from her.

“So you’re happy?” She pulled from his kiss. Her hands caressed his cheeks.”I mean really happy? Oh and don’t try and stop me from going just because I am. I want to go with you. I will not let you go this alone.”

“I am very happy my love and I would never dream of leaving you behind. How could I breath without you?” Silvan was still holding her in his arms. “I would certainly die without you.”

“Good because there is something else.” She blushed. “That I didn’t say.”

“That is?”

“Twins.” Serenity bit her bottom lip.”You must have it in your blood. I don’t ever recall twins in my family.”

“Oh sweet goddess.”

Silvan fell backwards onto the bed. His voice was trembling in a whisper. He wrapped his arms a little tighter around her and was crying! Not only was she giving him one child but this? She was giving him two. Serenity leaned against him and hugged him. Her fingers stroked through his hair and down. She was happy. Serenity knew how she should feel now. Although, her mother would still ask her the same question if she knew. Please don’t go.
