Chapter 0054: Rebirth of Black Hearts :

Magnus was silent behind his desk. Paper work had piled up over his captivity. It was simple Rosenbrim family business dealing with his branch of the Rosenbrim line. As the oldest heir of that side of Rosenbrim he had been responsible for the upkeep of the Rosenbrims around HammerFall Castle. He had already spoken with the Larsson and Stormblade Family. It had not been easy. The shouts and anger were justified; but had left the brunette wizard with quite a headache.

He sipped at his wine as he held a paper in his hand. He heard the door creak open and looked up from his routine work as future head of the HammerFall Castle Rosenbrims.

A guard announced after stepping in, "Wizard Magnus Rosenbrim, your guest has arrived."

"Let him enter." Rosenbrim said nonchallantly going back to his work. After he was done here he had another chamber to be in. King Stephen and the noblity would be waiting for him in the War Council Chambers. He didn't look forward to that part of the day either. This part would be his highlight.

Jasper Stormblade stepped into the room. This was not the man that Rosenbrim had been expecting to see; but he hid his surprise rather well and quickly. Behind him at his coat tails was Johan Lersson; whom he had really summoned.

Jasper knelt directly before the desk as he spoke in a voice filled with shame, "Please forgive me. For my boldness in coming here, and for failing in my mission to protect you."

A half smile formed at the edge of Magnus' face. He walked around the desk. He placed a gentle hand on the shoulder of the Stormblade warrior, "We are all only human. Humans are not perfect, young Stormblade. You have protected HammerFall and served Her well in my absence. For that I thank you."

His eyes then turned to Johan, "So I see you found the answer to your question without the aid of magic." There was a smile in Rosenbrim's eyes as he said those words to Johan.

He let go of Jaspers' shoulder then and walked so that he stood between the two HammerFall warriors. A full smile now evidently displayed itself on the wizard as he told them, "I suppose you wonder why I summoned you, Sir Johan."

Johan took a step back in shock. "I am going to Knight you. Together we shall set out one last quest. A powerful and evil mage known as Sabbath has gathered almost all of the Seven Keys to his own hands. We must interecept him and take back the Seven Keys he gathered; so that we may defend HammerFall and the Western Lands. Will you two join the group that is to set out with me. I would be greatly honored to have you as my traveling companions once more."

There was a stunned silence from the two of them and then nods of yes. Rosenbrim's smile turned into a grin then, "Good. We shall set out as soon as the other Knights of the Western Kingdoms reach here. This will be a united effort to bring a higher morale to our troops battling against the Black East. It is vital that this time we do not fail in our mission."

Marduk frowned. No word. Nothing had come from Sabbath. He was beginning to worry. He had not heard from him since he had gone in search for the legendery Eye of Elgard. He knew the Emperor was growign impatient for the Seven Keys. He felt the same gnawing anxiety in his own stomach. Having the Keys would secure them of everything for this war.

Marduk looked up as the messenger arrived. The Prince took the parchment in his hands. It was another summons to go back to the Emperor's Palace; but Marduk had no desire to be the play thing of his own father. The thought sickened him. He did not know how much longer he could forestall the Dark Guardian. Afterall the powers that Emperor Gorgoroth commanded far exceeded his own. After all he was only a half demon lord. His mother had been mortal.

Marduk looked to the balcony and looked out over his domain. A domain that his true father had granted him at a whim. He could just as easily take away his life. A thought that actually made him nervous. Nothing had ever been able to feel his bones to the marrow with such fear as the power of Gorgoroth. He needed to find a way to slay his father and not turn the Empire into civil war or disrupt the plans of conquering the West. The Emperor was right on that point. To long had the West been left uncorrupted and free of the taint that suffered the Eastern lands.

"You know what you're problem is?" Jasper heard a muscular blonde male in plate armor telling a stoic and slightly gaunt warrior in chainmail.

The one in chainmail simply replied, "I have no problem."

"Yes,you do. You need to find yourself a nice girl and give up that dragon." Jasper frowned not understanding until he saw it. Wrapped around the slightly gaunt warrior was a red serpent with tiny blackish-red wings and appendges so tiny that at first the Stormblade warrior had taken the dragon for some armor decoration.

"Sheira causes me less trouble then any real woman, Sir Prater"

"We've known each other for seven years. How many times do I have to tell you to simply call me Kurse" the blond in plate said sounding a little agitated by the other.

The one with a small dragon replied, "Three thousand times. That sounds like a good number of reprimmands, Sir Prater."

"You're impossible, Eric!" he said getting exsaperated. Then somethign unexpected happened. He heard the two of them clap each other on the back and start laughing. As if the whole thing had been some kind of private joke.

Jasper rounded the corner completely then.

"Looks like we had an ease dropper Eric." Prater remarked with a grin.

"Are you the Knights we've been waiting to arrive for the past week?" Jasper asked not sure; since had never seen these two knights before.

"That's us. I'm Sir Kurse Prater of Stratsovara, and this is jerk here is my friend.."

He was interrupted by his 'friend' Eric, "When did I ever say we were friends. It's more like we're associates."

"Shut up and let me introduce ourselves to this ki....that hair." he trailed off for a second, "Are you from the Stormblade Lineage?" There was an awe in Prater's voice; but there didn't seem any kind of reaction like that in his "friend" 's appearance.

Tokuro stood up on shocky legs as he looked at Zigakyu free of the blade that the Dark Guardians and Guardians had sealed the powerful soul sucker into. He smiled and laughed darkly as he looked towards his silver haired opponent.

Zigakyu ordered, "Free Her, Warlock!"

Tokuro at first didn't understand what the incubus meant but it was obvious that his opponent understand. A dark smirk had come over the other's lips as he asked one simple word, "Why?"
