second part chapter 29
Part Two Chapter Twenty-Nine:
“Uncle Kuron wait! What did you mean earlier when you said that you doubt Uncle Kei will live long enough?” Kevan asked when he caught up to Kuron.
Kuron turned to face the boy. “That is something you shouldn't know boy. Its better if you let things be. Knowing too much could get you killed.” he remarked.
Kevan shook his head. “This is about my uncle. How can I let it go? Uncle Kei and Sakura were like second parents to me. They took care of me and my brother Ethan when my parents were out there looking for a way to bring my granddad Kell back.”
Kuron stared at the boy with annoyance. “I don't care how much they mean to you boy, I have sworn to never reveal anyone’s future to anyone else. So turn around and go back. I will never break my promise to Yuu.” With that said, he continued forward.
Kevan grabbed Kuron’s hand. “If you won't tell me, I will follow you until you do.”
Kuron glared down at the boy. “If you think you can,” and before Kevan could stop him, Kuron shifted into his white owl form and flew away. Kevan couldn't believe his eyes. The white owl that his uncle Kuron shifted into was the white owl that was always with him. What is going on? he contemplated as he returned to the inn.
Royce slumped down onto his chair, speechless beyond words at what he just heard from Ambrose. He looked up at his husband. Tell me the full story of how Kei and Sakura came to be a couple that was cursed to be apart for five lifetimes. According to you, they went through three lifetimes of finding each other, falling in love and being parted from each other in the cruelest ways ever. Tell me Ambrose, who was it that placed a curse on them to be this way?"
Ambrose sat down beside his husband. "It happened five hundred years ago. Believe it or not, Kei was my great-great-great-grandfather Johnathan before he was reborn again as my grandson. As for Sakura, he was a servant named Anika who worked for a man that my great-great-great-grandfather was supposed to marry. I don't know if it was fate that let them meet each other by accident and fall deeply in love with each other,” Ambrose remarked. “My great-great-great-grandfather refused to marry the man he was supposed to marry and instead chose to marry Anika the servant boy he lost his heart to."
“What happened? Did your great-great-great-grandfather marry the servant boy-- I mean Anika?”
“Yes he did, but sadly Anika died of poison on the night of their wedding. No one knows who did it to this day. My great-great-great-grandfather Johnathan was heartbroken beyond words. He was forced to marry a man he didn't love right after his most beloved person died.”
"So how did it come about that they were cursed to meet and part from each other?” Royce asked wanting to get to the bottom of all this.
“My great-great-great-grandfather Johnathan, was the one who placed the curse. He wasn't aware at that time that what he wished for would turn into a curse. On the day before he died he vow to be with Anika every lifetime, and in every lifetime if the person that poison Anika on their wedding day was not found and brought to justice, then he and Anika would part with each other and meet once more in their next life, for they could only find true happiness together once the real killer was found. This was to prevent such tragedy from happening again. My uncle realized right away that it was a curse, so he put a limit that after five lifetimes, if the killer still wasn't found, the two of them would start anew."
Royce was once more speechless.” Sakura and Kei, you two are a really sad couple. I wish from the bottom of my heart that you two will find true happiness together in your next life.” He looked up at his husband, "Do you know who know who the killer is?" he asked.
"The person who knew who the killer might be was Yuu’s mother, but she was killed by Kuron."
"Then Ambrose I will make this my duty. I will do whatever it takes to bring happiness to my sister’s son. I owe her so much, the least I can do is help her son find true happiness, no matter how long it takes.” With that said, Royce left the room.
Two days after their dad died, Yuri and Yuki silently folded their dad’s clothes for their father and placed them in the small luggage bag that belonged to their dad. Yuki’s eyes caught a glimpse of a white envelope inside his dad’s bag. He pulled it out and saw that it was addressed to his father. He looked up at his brother. “Did our dad know that something like this would happen?” he asked his brother Yuri.
Yuri shook his head. “I don't think so. What happened to Dad was unexpected, but I do recall him mentioning something about writing a letter to Father just in case something happened to him and Father lost himself in depression. But I never really thought that Dad would actually write one.”
“When did he mention it?” asked Yuki.
“It was the morning after Solika died,” Yuri answered.
Yuki walked over to the door. He opened it and turned to his brother. “I'm going to give this to Father.” Yuri nodded and watched his brother leave.
Kei was drinking heavily when Yuki came downstairs with his dad’s letter. He ordered Derek to take his baby brother upstairs. Derek quickly did as he was told. Yuki walked up to his father and snatched the big jug of wine away. He placed the letter addressed to his father in front of him.
“What is this?” Kei asked as he tried to snatch back his jug of wine.
“It’s a letter from Dad, that is what it is Father.” After he said that, Yuki threatened to kill any of the inn staff that dared give his father more wine. Then he went upstairs to help Yuri finish folding his dad’s clothes.
Kei picked up Sakura’s letter and opened it. He read it and tears silently slid down his cheeks.
“Dear Kei,
If you are reading this letter, then I am no longer by your side. I decided to write this letter for you just in case something unexpected happened and I could no longer be by your side. Knowing you Kei, you will go into a deep depression and blame yourself for everything that happened, and I don't want you to do that. This is why I wrote this letter as a precaution and carried it with me. I wish for the day that you would never have to read this letter, but if you are reading it right now then my wish has been in vain. Kei, you know the whole world has light because of the sun even though there are times of darkness. You Kei are the sun that lights my life. The moment when I met you, I loved you. Is it because of our bonds that we are fated to be in love and to be parted?. I want to hold your hand Kei and walk under the clear blue sky together forever. But time is mercilessly ending--- separating me from you once more. Kei even if the world comes to an end and the wind stops blowing, my feelings for you will not change because my heart will remain to love you forever. But I can't love you until our dying day. Fate has ended this bond of ours. Kei I love you. Please wait for me. I have faith that we will be together again. Love Sakura.
Kei brought the letter to his heart. "I love you too Sakura. No matter how long it takes, I will wait for you to be with me again in your next life.” He stood up from the stool about to go upstairs, when Doris appeared from behind him chanting a powerful spell that caught him off guard.
Doris apologized to the man saying once more that he needed Kei’s heart to revive Solika. Then he plunged the gold dagger into Kei and sliced his chest open. He took the heart out and vanished right before Yuki came downstairs.
At that very moment, Emiya who was eating his meal got the urge to throw up. He ran to the bathroom and did just that. Back at the inn, Yuki cried out in horror. He yelled out for Derek and Yuri and the rest of their family. Every one came downstairs and cried out in horror.
Yuki cuddled his father head in his lap and cried. "Why? Why is this happening?" he cried. tears falling down and landing on his father's face.
Yuri slumped down onto the floor. This could not be happening. He only got to be with his parents for a short time. Why did they take his parents from him? It was not fair. His parents shouldn't have died. "It isn't fair!" he cried out loud.
Lucian’s tears were running down like a waterfall. He went over to his grandfather’s body and rested his head on his grandfather’s open chest. “Grandfather, you and Granddad don't deserve to go this way,” he cried and shook his grandfather’s body. He caught sight of the letter in his grandfather’s hand. He gently pried his grandfather fingers apart and took the letter. He read it aloud for everyone to hear. The letter fell from his hand. Lucian glanced down at his grandfather’s lifeless body, “You two will meet again, I am sure of it and when you two do, I wish that you will not end up this way like in this lifetime Grandfather Kei,” he said between tears.
Seyha came up to Lucian and went down on his knees. He put his arms around Lucian and comforted him. Derek did the same for his Yuki. Kell went over to Yuri and comforted the poor boy as well as Kevan.
Emiya wiped his mouth, and stared at his reflection in the mirror just as Amithyda walked in to check on him. “I heard from the men that you have been throwing up since this afternoon,” he said with a smirk.
“So what if I was?” Emiya retorted.
“Boy don't you know anything? You are pregnant and I didn't even have to make you drink the potion that would get you pregnant. Now tell me, isn't that a miracle that you who are not a life bearer got pregnant without having to drink the life-giver potion or to eat the fruit of bearer?” Amithyda remarked with his smirk still in place.
Emiya gasped at the man, “I'm not pregnant! There is no way that I can have children!”
Amithyda came closer to the boy. He lifted Emiya’s face up by the chin. "Miracles happen when you least expect it boy.”
Emiya covered his ears with both his hands and backed away from Amithyda. “It’s impossible! I don't believe it! You are a evil man, you would not hesitate to lie to me. I hate you!” he screamed and raced towards the bathroom. He locked himself inside and cried.
