Chapter 0052: Steel Warriors :
Despite the fire raging about them the air felt crisp, and cool as his eyes locked with a man not unlike himself. He knew from that gaze that this was a man seeking an oponnent worthy of his talents and was only concerned with finding such.
Mikael laughed as a smug half smirk formed upon his lips. No time was wasted any longer on the slaughter of pathetic wretches. They met with the clash of steel that rang louder in their ears then the fire's roar.
Mikael smiled as he looked upon this stranger; whom was obvious a dark guardian, ""It's a shame that future warriors growing up now are being influenced by offal; it's really upsetting; that our kind are basically formed by what our influences are and if this new generation of children have such pathetic wretches for influences, they shall have a hard time overcoming that."
The Dark Guardian replied back, "Do not concern yourself about children, my worthy foe. Your soul shall soon be claimed by my blade."
The Dark Guardian laughed as they leaped back from each other only to cross blades again. Mikael easily blocking the stranger's attacks as easily as the other made his offensive movements. They were two skilled combatants. It would be a show that many would pay high prices to witness. Storm clouds were soon gathering over them.
Mikael smiled, "If you do somehow manage to kill me, it shall be your problem then to find any oponnent as worthy as yourself in a world of refuse."
Lightning blasted the around them from the black clouds hanging omniously overhead as they met once more. Their blades clash as Mikael felt himself taken aback slightly. He thought he heard a roar of hunger coming from the Dark Guardian's blade; but he pushed it aside as only thunder rumbling from the dark sky overhead.
*****************************
Demons surrounded them upon all sides. It was still a good long ride to HammerFall even if they were so close to the borders of his Kingdom. He knew that Magnus had lost alot in his time among the Hordes of Iced Earth, and that this look of happiness upon him was a shell of how he truly felt inside. After all, he was the wizard that had lost Elgard's Eye to the Enemy. But despite all that, the wizard seemed back to being healthy.
The horse reared up as a demon's claws came at him. Rosenbrim thrusted forth his hand and with a single word sent the demon that had tried to pull the horse out from under them flying through the air. It was almost like the wizard had returned back to his old self; a little. It brought back memories of the good days. When they had trained together against lesser demons.
He knew that with Rosenbrim at his side that he could face any enemy of HammerFall and the West; with or without Elgard's Eye.

Special note: that line Mikael says is in reference to people like Johan and Jasper Stormblade (as being the idols of the next generation of warriors and the thought sickens him a little) It's originally a quote from a band member of the metal group Man O War that I twisted to fit Mikael's feelings about the future warriors of this world.
Here is the original quote by the Band Member of Man O War: "It's a shame that future musicians growing up now are being influenced by trash; it's really upsetting. You are basically formed by what your influences are and if you've got losers for influences, you're going to have a hard time overcoming that." -Eric Adams in an interview conducted in 1988
