Chapter 52

What would be next? Picking up their dry cleaning and burping their babies? Ramesh was dying with humility after what happened with his brother, and now the grocery shopping? The whole situation had gone way out of hand when all he had wanted to do was mug that puny little Japanese boy. Really, it was their own fault their homes got demolished.

He carried the bags into the apartment. He had already called them and now he was supposed to leave the junk in the courtyard. Could only hope they'd choke on their damn minced meat. It was a bad morning. How was he supposed to survive another night when his brother was with those moronic strangers? They didn't know how to take care of Jyotis. By the time he made it to the courtyard, his anger was at dangerous levels.

Putting the bags on the ground, he looked up, trying to spot the balcony of the weak little bastards. They had to be watching from somewhere, but where? Couldn't spot anyone in any windows.

"Good morning, Ramesh. You look healthy." A voice behind him. Ramesh spun around immediately, seeing the tallest idiot with the spiky hair standing there with the tiny redhead next to him. Stupidly enough, the taller guy was wearing a martial arts outfit and fighting gloves. Did that moron think he stood a chance in a fight?

Then coughing was heard. Looking back at that direction, Ramesh spotted three more oriental bastards... and his brother. The yellow-haired one was holding a knife to Jyotis' throat, the other two approaching cautiously. Heck, one of them had dressed up for a fight as well! What was wrong with these people?

Well even if he was greatly outnumbered, they still didn't hold much of a chance. He sneered and turned back to the taller one. If they wanted to fight, he was game. "Well this looks like a friendly reception. You're all dressed up for me and everything." He started walking toward the man, wondering how much strength he should put into stomping on that little red ant before he pounded the real man.

When one of the ones near his brother shouted, "Stop, or I'll kill him!" He turned around and froze. Even if they weren't serious, there was no way he could risk it. They had him by the balls with that threat.

"There are two ways we can do this, Ramesh." The spiky-haired one spoke up again. "Either you can try to fight, and we'll kill your brother. Or you can give yourself up, and we can discuss an arrangement including letting him go." The youngster paused, crossing his arms. "Which will it be?"

He studied his brother, trying to spot any sign that he might be hurt. All there was in return was the typical dead fish stare. Didn't seem to be bothered by being tied up either. Maybe they let him keep his lighter. Well at least they weren't as dumb as they looked. Once satisfied Jyotis was okay, he continued his surveillance of the group. Was that all or did they have backup hiding somewhere?

There was a gleam in the corner of his eye. He didn't look at it directly but inspecting it during a few glances past. It was the woman. Looked like he had backup too, but he just hoped she didn't do anything that he wouldn't like. As capable and intelligent – and cute – as she was, the girl was damned unpredictable. He lowered his eyes in defeat and shrugged. "Alright. You win. I surrender."

The three black-haired orientals moved a little closer, still staying several meters away in opposite directions. The heavy one was carrying a rope... meant for him, probably? "Got any weapons on you? Lose them." It was the taller one that spoke again, still in that firm, emotionless monotone.

"That's a bit of a problem. The only weapons I need are my fists, and I can't likely lose those." He scowled at the rope and then eyed the one carrying it. He could take all of them put together. Of course even if that was so, there was nothing he could do about it at the moment. "Fine. What do you intend to do with me?"

With a brief snort, the spiky-haired one claimed eye contact. "We intend to tie you up, then we can discuss this over that pizza you bought. This situation can't go on forever, you understand that, right?" The guy sighed, then added, "I want you on your stomach on the ground, hands behind your back."

His whole body was screaming to attack, but he couldn't. He focused on trying to calm down as he slowly lowered himself onto his knees, moving to lay on his stomach. Had to resign himself to being obedient. Still, he couldn't help casting a glare at the lot of them as he did so. Sure, they were right that it couldn't go on forever. That's why he was going to kill them all once he got out of this. No more playing around, they were as good as dead.

There was rustling heard. Before he could lay down completely, the school girl stepped out of her hiding place, a devilish smirk tainting her sweet young face. Ramesh watched as two of the guys stared at her. Finally his backup was going to step in. He was practically beaming when he saw her whip a knife suddenly sending it sailing through the air. It landed with a sickening sound and after a moment of confusion, his eyes widened in horror. The handle of the blade protruded from his brother's chest. And slowly a line of blood trickled down from the corner of of Jyotis' mouth.

His brother. His only family... Ramesh climbed back to his feet, feeling his heart trying to pound right out of him. His body was so tense, the slightest sound could make him explode. The smirking school girl apparently figured that out. She let out a sharp laugh and crossed her arms with an accomplished smile. His mind went blank with fury and the next thing he knew, he was charging at the nearest Korean. The bastard, seeing him coming, started toward the biggest one, but he wasn't fast enough.

Ramesh slammed him against a wall, the guy kicked him in the gut, and it hurt like a bitch, but he paid no attention. Recovering from almost getting his feet kicked out from under him, he enclosed his fists around the guy's neck. He squeezed with all his anger and as he was ready to twist and give his best attempt at pulling that head right off, a body leapt on him from behind, latching on like a goddamn monkey and yanking him backwards. He had to let go of the Korean's neck to try and pry the creature off his back, only to feel a set of teeth sink into his shoulder.

The one he had tried to strangle - the one with the white bandanna - gave him a half-hearted kick in the groin before stepping backwards, struggling to regain his breath properly. That hurt, but not as bad as his head which was hit by a forceful kick moments after. Stumbling from the blow, he cast a glare back at the spiky-haired idiot.

He felt the body drop off his back and took a few steps after the retreating redhead. He changed his mind quickly – little bugger could likely outrun him – and with a loud ferocious growl, he swung his fist at the spiky-haired bastard, nailing the guy in the ribs.

After forcing away a pained grimace, the tall Asian smirked. "Finally taking on someone closer to your own size? About time." He started a light, amusing hopping, arms raised in a guard as he looked Ramesh over. "You can just give up now if you want. There's no way you're going to win this."

"You've gotta be fucking kidding me. You think your puny ass could take me on all by yourself? You're dead, amigo. Very dead." Ramesh threw another punch, snarling when it was dodged, but followed it up by backhanding the fool across the face with his other arm. "Where are your bitches hiding? Once I'm finished pounding you into oblivion, I'll fuck them over. Which one do you think would be the best in the sack? That cute Japanese guy or the little purple one?"

Swinging his fist at the oriental, he saw the guy lean back to avoid the blow. Before he could bring his arms back, a boot got him in the chin, the impact giving a disheartening sound as pain jolted through him. An instant later, the boot was there again, brought down on his chest. Ramesh took the momentum for what it was, and with a few steps backwards, he was out of range. "The cute Japanese, definitely," the guy responded with a smile once they stopped for a moment, "he's a fitting top for a bottom like you."

Nice comeback. Couldn't deny that burn. Ramesh laughed bitterly at the idea and then pushed off with his foot to charge at the guy. When his collision was avoided by a simple sidestep, he skidded and swung around, nailing the bastard in the chest with a jerk of his elbow. "I'll be sure to try him out then."

It was hard not to feel sorry for the guy, however many reasons Kyun had to hate Ramesh by now. Walking into the lion's den like that... predictably, he watched Luo grab the arm, placing a foot on the larger guy's chest and tugging him roughly towards him. Ramesh was sent airborne over Luo's head, and with a final push from his boot, the guy was sent head first into the tarmac.

The sickening sound of a breaking skull echoed off the wall, and he saw his friend clutch his stomach with a grimace. That was not where he had been hit; but Kyun could relate only all too strongly, not feeling particularly well himself either. It wasn't like Luo had much of a choice, but killing a guy...

Nele was starting a slow walk toward Luo, but looking away from the mess. He stopped halfway and looked over toward the girl leaning against a far wall. He stole a quick glance at Ramesh's head and immediately paled to a sickly white, leaning over and spitting up a bit into the nearest bush. When he got a hold of himself, he wiped his mouth with his sleeve and closed his eyes. "Fuck... What are we going to do with the wench?"

The girl – looking quite cheerful – laughed and shrugged. "Well I suppose you could give me a spanking for jumping the pervert, but I just helped you. You fools were going to tie him up and play with him, and I made killing him so much easier didn't I? Fucker busted my family..."

"Easier?" Choi remarked in a chilly tone. "What is easier about fighting him than dealing with him with his hands tied?" He nodded over at Luo, then shrugged. "My friend there is too nice a guy to kill him in that situation. Personally, when there's no other conceivable choice, I don't have that problem."

"I don't know about you or your friend, but for normal people, it's easier to take another man's life when the blood is boiling. Like in a fight, for instance. Killing in cold blood during a calm moment will leave a much deeper scar on the lot of you. I did you a favour." She stuck up the middle finger and pushed away from the wall, casually walking toward the door. "If you're not going to give me a good flogging, I'll see you boys later."
