Escape

Chapter 55 – Escape

Kaori sat on the edge of the bed in the dreary room her aunt had her reside in. When Kaori was not at school, she was in the room, doing her homework and avoided by the family. Kaori was the bad seed of the entire family. She was looked at as if she were a disease that would destroy and kill the entire bloodline. Instead of this making Kaori want to be a better person it made her more determined to do the things she was sent away not to do.

Kaori lay back on the stiff bed, wearing clothes that gave her curvy figure no shape. She had been trapped in Hell since she came here, and for the three months the American’s had for summer vacation before her next year of high school she was going to be sent to a camp with the other six children of this dreary family. Those six children looked forward to camp, two of them being counselors. Kaori was supposed to be a counselor as well.

On many occasions at the dinner table Kaori found her eldest cousin watching her out of the corner of his eye. She thought it was ridicule for her lifestyle into the night he snuck into her bedroom. Kaori may have been slutty, but even she drew the line somewhere. She had slapped him and told him to get out. When he had made a smarmy comeback about her doing her brother she said that it was because he was a god, and her cousin, Gerard, he was a shriveled worm. He had hit her, but it had been worth it to her.

Kaori was growing weary of this mansion already, and ever day she wrote to Nakago, hoping for him to come rescue her from this Hell, but he never came, he never even answered her. Her parents never called her, and when she did speak to them they would not even allow her to breech the subject of her brother. It was as if by ignoring that it ever happened they would make it go away. All of this combined made Kaori only yearn for Nakago more.

“Kaori!” The scream of her name came so suddenly she nearly rolled off the bed in shock. She would remember that voice anywhere, anyhow. She jumped from the bed and began towards her door. She opened the door slowly and looked out as her name was shouted again. “Kaori!”

“Nakago?” she asked softly, afraid to believe that it was truly him. She looked out of the door and stared right into the face of her older brother, looking disheveled and dirty. His eyes were filled with determination and knowledge of life that had never been etched so deeply into them before. He was ready for more than the life he had left behind, it was written in his eyes.

“Gerard, have you called the police?” their aunt was yelling from somewhere downstairs.

Kaori ignored it. “Nakago!” she screamed, running towards him and throwing herself into his arms. She leapt onto him, wrapping herself around him, and he held her close.

“You’ve gotten fat,” he told her lovingly.

“You’ve gotten old,” Kaori pointed out, and both of them shared the most tender moment they could in the situation they were given.

“Do you have a window in your room?” Nakago asked of her, looking into her eyes and recognizing his own reflection that was held lovingly in the deep grey.

“No,” she said, knowing exactly where he was going with the questioning, “but the bathroom does.”

The two of them crowded into the bathroom as feet followed them up the stairs. Kaori went over to the small window and pushed out the screen so quickly Nakago had a feeling she had done this all before. Kaori climbed into the window and readied herself to jump into the bushes that were below. The worst damage would be a few cuts and scrapes, and possibly a bush branch where it would be highly unpleasant, but it would not hinder them.

“If you have known how to escape this whole time,” Nakago began, “why haven’t you?”

Kaori looked at him with a smile that spoke the world to him. “I was waiting for your rescue,” she smiled, and then she was out of the window and falling towards the bushes. Nakago did not hesitate to jump after her, and in moments the two teenagers were far enough away from the mansion that by the time the cops drove up the teenagers could not be found.

“Do I want to ask how you got them to agree to loan us a car with no money, no collateral, and no American driver’s license?” Nakago asked, driving down the road and out of the main city.

Kaori shook her head and smiled. She had already stripped from the baggy clothes her aunt had made her wear and wore a pair of capris and a tank top that apparently she wore under all of her clothes. “How did you get here?” Kaori asked, leaning back in the seat and relaxing next to him.

“I hopped a boat, traveled for nearly a month, and then bribed people into bringing me here,” Nakago said flatly.

“How did you bribe them?” Kaori asked suspiciously.

“With money.”

“How did you get the money?”

“I killed someone.”

Silence.

“What?” Kaori finally asked, not in the least disbelieving, just not expecting to hear him say it.

Nakago let out a sigh and began to relate his story to Kaori. “Yuki came to visit me in the correctional facility, telling me Kago had been abusing her, and she believed he was going to be after Fuji. I blamed myself for Kago’s turn, since it was me who dragged him into this all. So I escaped so I could stop it, however someone else stopped him for me, though they meant to kill Amatsu. I had seen him out of the corner of my eye and knocked Amatsu out of the way.”

“You saved his life?”

“You sound shocked,” Nakago growled.

Kaori shook her head. “I have just never known you for your bouts of heroism.”

Nakago shrugged. “If Amatsu died it would defeat the purpose of me escaping to protect some damn girls.”

Kaori smiled. “You were doing the right thing.”

Nakago shrugged. “I hate doing the right thing.” He stopped, hesitated, then began again. “I saved Amatsu and had him run. After he ran I chased Shoushin down-”

“The guy from Velvet Wrappings?”

“Kaori, I can not tell this story if you keep interrupting me…”

“Sorry,” she apologized meekly and waited for more.

“I chased Shoushin down, not only have her murdered my intended victim, he had tried to kill an innocent man, and he would have once again tried to hurt Fuji. I think it made me insane that that many people would be out to hurt one innocent girl. I think I was taking all of my anger on what happened to you and me out on Shoushin. I hung him. I made sure it looked like suicide, but I did hang him, and took everything of value out of his apartment I could, no one would ever miss it.” He did not tell her that he had confessed to murdering Kago to save Amatsu, and he did not tell her how he had escaped from prison. She would never believe he could be so generous. He was having troubles believing it, but just because he was a bad seed did not mean his heart did not beat with the same Oshidori blood that fueled their sister into the optimistic brat she was.

“Well, you were having fun while I was away,” Kaori said without any feeling in the statement. She did not know how to react to that.

“I don’t believe me committing murder is ‘fun’,” Nakago retorted. For a moment all was silent, and then he turned to her and looked at her from the corner of his eye. “Why are you more weirded out that I may have saved someone’s life than the fact that I took one?”

Kaori shrugged and said, quite honestly, “I always suspected you would become a murderer.”

Nakago smirked, and could not deny her that because in a fit of rage he did just what she had suspected of him. “What if I am driving you away from that horrid mansion just so I can leave your body at the bottom of a lake?” Nakago asked, sickened with himself for not being bothered by the murder, and sickened with her for taking it so easily.

Kaori leaned forward and kissed Nakago’s earlobe sweetly, grazing her teeth over the skin. “Will you fuck me once more before you do?”

Nakago swerved the car down an abandoned street and parked swiftly. He turn to Kaori, reaching over her to the lever on the seat that drew it all of the way back. It happened so quickly she had not been expecting it and she fell back so fast she let out a little squeal.

“I can give you that one last wish,” Nakago promised her, climbing over her, pressing his lips deep against hers. She wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him close to her.

Like all of their times before this was rushed and hurried, her pants swiftly pulled down, his unbuttoned and pushed down his hips. He slid into her with ease, easier than he had the last time, and much easier than the first time. She was becoming well used in her life, perhaps a little too used, but Nakago still wanted her like he wanted no one else. He still enjoyed every moment of being inside of her, pushing deep, and cumming inside of her. It was the most thrilling experience, more so than anything else he had done in the last few months.

When finished, when spent, he gazed down at her, thinking her beautiful and perfect, despite her weaknesses. She gazed back up at him and gave him a smile. “I’m proud of you,” she suddenly whispered to him.

“For what?” he asked her.

“For saving someone’s life,” Kaori explained. “Your right may help outweigh your wrong, and we can start a life together.”

“Not here,” Nakago said, “and not back in Japan.”

“Then drive me to Mexico, take me over the Canadian border, I don’t care, just take me wherever you go. I do not want to be without you again.”

“Are you going to be true?” he asked of her, knowing fully well whatever answer she gave him would be a lie.

“As true as I can,” she admitted to him.

Nakago laughed and leaned down towards her, taking her lips under his and letting his mouth give her the answer without the words. She swooned, wrapping her arms around him, letting him know how happy she was, before kneeing him softly. “We have to go,” she whispered. “We have to run before the cops find us, before anyone can find us.”

Nakago nodded, pulling his pants back up around his body and settling himself in his seat. “Kaori, start thinking of a new name, we will soon become the best Canadian citizens ever.”

Kaori could only laugh as the car continued its drive down the road and she said good-bye to America, slowly taking in the scenery. She knew she would never see this country again, and she would most likely never see Japan again, but she did not feel sad.

She risked a glimpse over to Nakago, watching his muscles tense as he drove, as his brain tried to continue him on the wrong side of the road than what he had been taught to drive. She leaned her head against the window and just watched him, a face so similar to her own. Yes, it was wrong, and now it was even more so. He was a murderer, a rapist, and a thief. She was nothing but a two-bit whore with nothing going for her. They had no way to survive, and no way to make it, but they would. They had to. He had done his good deeds, and she would swear to do hers when they reached their destination, wherever that may be.

“Nakago,” Kaori said softly, “I love you.”

Nakago gave off his best impression of a kind smile, though he looked like a wolf ready to eat the lamb. “And I love you,” he told her simply, and together they drove off into the sunset, as best as they could for two people in love in such circumstances.

A/N: Bye bye Kaori and Nakago! This is the end for them! Sorry!! Miss them, they have their happy ending!
