Thanks CrimsonWatersAlien - glad you like it. Henry and Eric has a long thorny road left to go.
Chapter 5
When a man became so obsessed, so entralled by another man, his personality could quickly changed. A little dark shadow would turn his attentions into a little aggression. Desperation and imagined needs chased each other around in a vicious cycle that never end. If you not too sure of what that meant, just as Eric Hampton.
The irony of it was he knew it all too well...But there was nothing he could do to stop the compulsion. That my friend was, human nature. We always want power. Over objects and over people. Especially, over things we deemed to be ours. A fatal disease that bound to get you in trouble eventually. Sometimes, it may lead to happiness, if luck allows it. Alas, in this case, it lead to nothing more then pure tragedy.
Heartbreak and death. Two common themes that seemed to mirror Henry's life. A motto that he seemed incapable of shaking. Even after two generations of Hamptons.
Maybe if fate was not so cruel that night for those star crossed lovers....But they did me, and they did fall in love. And the rest was history.
The show must go on....
As Eric rushed out in a flurry. To his flash Mercedes. To his mystery date, a remincing Henry was leafing through a leather bounded journal and a brain full of memories.
"As we dripped our way through my front door, who do I see, seated forward on my couch, wringing his hands? Aaron, dirty, cheating Aaron. He jumped up as he heard the door swung open, too much like a overexcited puppy, happy to see his master. Or maybe more like the guilty pup caught red handed and was hopping his cuteness would get him forgiven. Not this time. Not a chance in hell.
There was but one word on my lips
"Leave"
Time froze for just a second. And my cold voice gave yet another louder command.
"NOW"
That broke the awkward silence at last. There was a smash heard as Aaron slammed down his now shaking hands. Angry hands that forgot that they made love to another two hours prior. He was the betrayer. The one that did me wrong. Yet he has the gall to act the victim.
"what the fuck is this? Who the hell is he? I can not believe this? How long have you been seeing him? You two-timing whore!"
His speech was like a slap to the face. I reeled back against the accusations. Then stop in my tracks. I clearly remembered it was him that cheated on me. His little comment was nothing more then a reflection of his own guilt and the
way he perceived the world. A very twisted belief and filled with mistrust.
"Not everyone is as horny and unfaithful like you Aaron" I said in a very deadly quiet voice.
That made both men perk up. Both with a danger radar flipped on. One knew that tone all too well. It meant I was angry, beyond shouting and had a touch of finality. I was fed up and ready to attack, in other words. A pre-warning before the storm. The second claimed he heard a pained hurt in my voice. It sound like a wounded tiger cornered ready to defend itself against death.
"Listen, Henry, the thing with Sean was nothing. It was a mistake. One thing led to another....And beside he was just a boy. One of the young interns..."
I was starting to hate his wheeling. I don't want to hear any more of those lame excuses. I heard them all my life and...
"He deserved better. You take his love for grant for long enough. You have lost him. I have found him. Finders Keepers, losers weepers" came the steady voice of my new guardian angel.
Not a sound came out of my opened mouth. Shocked and embarassement make my face white then red in quick succession.
That when I found the strength to defy the man I had loved for four years. It took a stranger to make me see the flaws of our relationships.
Love never last forever, you just think or hope it does.
"Get the Hell out of here, Aaron Winters."
Henry was proud when he remembered that moment. He was so strong and wise in that brief second, totally unaware of the domino effect it had on his life.
And here, would be where the fun beginning. Revenge, betrayal, deception all still have a part to play. Here where the plot thickens - past, present and future are about to meet with disastrous consequences. All started with a Luke Winter, and his corrupted curiosity.
