• Chapter Five •
Evadne's Fears“Don’t look at me like that, Evadne. I know perfectly well what I’m doing,” Orrick told the tiger who was looking at him as if he were the dumbest human in the world. “If it’s true what they say, I would have just lit a spark. I’m just worried about what Amora’ll do to him.”
Evadne’s ears perked forward and she left her spot beside the door and trotted over to hop onto Orrick’s bed. Evadne placed a paw on his chest and gave him a worried look.
“Don’t worry, if she tries to kill him, I’ll kill her.”
This didn’t seem to calm Evadne’s fears. She laid down with almost a pout-like look in her eyes, staring up at Orrick. Orrick reached out and stroke her head.
“Maybe we should get rid of Amora before she tries anything so foolish. Mr. Avery has still been asking to buy her.”
Evadne tilted her head to the side and gave a small purr.
“Very well, I’ll contact Mr. Avery tomorrow, and then we’ll work on getting Zero in that room.”
The tiger seemed to be satisfied with this and stretched out on the bed, nearly pushing Orrick off the side.
A/N: Lina: I wasn't actually thinking about that book/movie when I had named him Zero. I wanted something that I'd never used before, so I went to babynames.com, the Z section, and saw Zero, which babynames.com states as being Greek for nothing, empty. Since I knew that Zero was going to be a really quiet person who most thought he didn't do much thinking, it just seemed to fit. It wasn't actually until later on when a friend was reading through it that she told me it reminded her of Zero from 'Holes' because he had the same nickname for pretty much the same reason.
