A great screeching filled the halls of Hell. A sound so grating and powerful that it drowned out the pained screams of the damned, and caused the very walls of Hades to vibrate dangerously.

Lilith Apollyon lifted her dark head, and turned towards the sound that could only be coming from one of her own children. An answering screech of her own filled her throat, and then burst forth to echo throughout the bowels of Hell.

Reven.

Lilith dropped the body of the female she had been so gleefully torturing a moment before, and like any concerned and caring mother; went to see what was wrong with her baby boy.

Even in the pits of fire and unbearable suffering heads of both demon and damned turned as she stalked past.

Lilith carried herself regally as would befit any princess, and her beauty shown even through flames and tears. She was tall for a woman, with long slender limbs covered in skin that was as black as the night. Her raven hair hung long and loose past her softly rounded shoulders. God had created her perfect in every aspect except one, and even amongst the hopelessness that was her domain her radiance was undeniable.

Eyes of the deepest cobalt blue narrowed in suspicion as she calmly approached the origin of the sound that had reverberated around her earlier. Not pausing to announce herself she pushed past the three headed dragon that guarded her sons room and stepped inside.

To put it mildly, her youngest son, and as far as she was concerned, only heir to the throne of Hell; was having a temper tantrum.

Lilith sighed and leaned with her back to the door of the room.

Reven Ben Apollyon was not a happy camper at the moment. Various flaming objects levitated around his room smashing into each other while her son screeched and stomped about. An explosion rocked the cavern as she serenely waited for him to wear himself out and notice that she was there.

She smiled fondly at her outraged offspring as she patiently waited. Her baby.

If Lilith’s skin could be described as blacker than ebony then Reven’s would have to qualify as whiter than finest ivory. Luminous and pale, he possessed a cold beauty that in its way matched her own. His platinum blond hair and creamy complexion were quite lovely she thought. He stopped pacing for a moment and took a deep breathe. Eyes of the purest violet slowly lifted to meet hers. So handsome her boy was. His perfect bow shaped mouth was twisted into a rather childish pout at the moment, but still; so handsome.

“Problem darling?” Lilith cocked one dark eyebrow and gave him a dazzling smile.

Reven was not amused. “Do you know what that-that- husband of yours has done mother?”

Lilith grimaced. Of course she knew. Nothing happened in the royal household that she was not a part of.
“Yes I know.” She said softly.

Her son turned and punched one of the many brimstone columns that littered his room and then immediately shook his hand as pain lanced through his body. Lilith winced. That had to hurt.

“How dare he?” Reven seethed. “How dare either of them?”

“Calm down dear.” Lilith advanced into the room. “Its not like it will stop our plans.”

“It’s the principal of the thing.” Reven said through gritted teeth. His whole arm was starting to throb. “Milo is mine!”

“I know darling.” Lilith reached out to gently caress her sons cheek. “He is still yours. He just has another assignment at the moment. If anyone can do this, you know its Milo.”

“But mother....” Reven whined.

“No buts my love.” Lilith said firmly. “If Milo can turn an archangel to our side it will be a great victory for us. Especially this archangel.” She slipped an arm around his shoulders and pulled him close to her. “Don’t worry darling. Milo loves only you. You know that.”

Reven chewed at his plump, pink bottom lip. “I don’t want to lose him mother. I don’t care about father or God and their stupid bets. Let them gamble with what belongs to them!”

“Technically....” Lilith sighed. “They are. Gabriel belongs to God, and your father holds dominion over all things in hell.”

Flames danced in her sons purple eyes. Reven smirked nastily. “Just one more reason why they both need to go.”

Lilith smiled proudly and gently kissed her sons perfect lips. “Yes my love.” She whispered as she pressed her body to his. “Both of them.”

How'd you come up with the names for these charcters? I know the common demon/angel names such as azrael, gabriel and balthazar but lilith and nicodemus? can i find actual reference for those or are they just your makings?


Its a combination of both actually. Milo is my own creation and I named him out of thin air. Gabriel is of course a common angel name. Balthazar is a demon in my story and I think youll find him listed amongst the fallen angels. As for Lilith, in mythology Lilith was Adams first wife. Created by God at the same time as Adam and made from the earth just as he was. The legend goes that when Adam tried to lord over Lilith that she refused. She would not always be on the bottom she said. As far as she was concerned they were equals and she would not be treated as a lesser being. After Adam kept trying to boss her around and force his will on her, Lilith ran away to Satan, who offered her refuge. Adam whined to God of course and God sent three angels to bring her back but she refused to come. So God cursed Lilith. She would bear hundreds of children but none save her oldest and youngest would live.

It was her punishment to have to watch as her children were slaughtered on the banks of what was forever after known as the RED Sea. Red with the blood of her children for all eternity. So Lilith made a deal with Lucifer. She would be his wife and bear him two sons in exchange for the power to wreak revenge upon man and God. She became a succubus and a killer of enfants in the night.

Lilith holds sway over the life of every mortal child for the first days of its life. Eight days for boys. Twenty days for girls.

When Lilith refused to come back to Adam, God made him a new companion. One fashioned from his rib to be a part of him and always weaker by virtue of not being created from the earth. Eve seemed perfect for Adam. Unfortunately it turned out that even though God had made her physically weaker than Adam, Eve still had a mind of her own. lol

As for Nicodemus, if you look in the bible you will find that the man sent to guard Jesus' tomb with Joseph of Arimithea was indeed named Nicodemus. As for the rest of the name, Ben means "son of" in Hebrew and Appollyon means "Satan". Therefore he is, Nicodemus Ben Appollyon, or Nicodemus son of Satan.

Reven is Reven Ben Appollyon or Reven son of Satan.

Reven is a name I made up, but not really.

As the bible says of the anti-christ, "And his name shall be NEVER and Hell shall follow him."

Reven = Never.

As for reference, yes there are tons about Lilith and some about Nicodemus.
