Human Effect
Watch them steal, and watch them lie. Little humans running about every day life. You shush, you scold, you sigh when the young cry, and lie, and steal. You beat the tiny body until the noise stops. You convulse because of the pills you took to make it go away. You break the window and push the wires together because you’re bored. It was all in fun and games. It was all in need. It was all in justification. You smile at the small body as confusion takes over at the loss of pants. You call it love when it’s them. You call it pleasure when it’s them. You call it abuse when it’s you. You call it wrong when it’s you. Do unto others before they do unto you. Call your loved one as you wash away the remains of your lover. Serve dinner with the same knife you sunk into your child to the police who investigate. Smile with the same mouth that lies about where you’ve been. Sigh as the rush of euphoric endorphins crowd your senses.
