Chapter 5: Not hungry no more & Memories.
The sun finally went down and i heard a sniffle. I woke up and looked beside me. Jamie was laying there crying.
"Are you alright? what is wrong?" i asked as i was sitting up and rubbing my eyes.
"I..I.. im scared what is going to happen.. like i mean what if they find us? they will kill you Cornelius" she said as she gripped onto me tight.
"Dont worry Jamie, i will be fine, i promise" i said hugging her.
About 10 mintues, Jamie had calm down.
"I think we better get going" said Jamie standing up rubbing her eyes.
"Yeah i think so too" i said also standing up.
We got to a long trail sorounded by a forest. We started down the trail.
"Its kind of scary in here" said Jamie grabbing onto my hand tight. I held hers too.
"Its alright" I said comforting her.
I heard something above the trees flying.
"Oh no, they are looking for us!" i said hiding behind a tree and pulling her in with me.
My eyes started to burn. I covered them with my hands. I looked at Jamie.
"Cornelius your eyes are like glowing red!" said Jamie looking a little scared.
I looked up into the sky. It was not a full moon, so i wouldn't be turning tonight. I felt hungry. I looked at Jamie but then slapped myself. 'no, not her!' i said to myself.
"What did you say?" she asked me.
"Nothing.. its alright, but we got to get out of here!" i said as i grabbed her arm and ran.
Then it looked like the ground was being removed from below me. I was flying. I got a better grip on Jamie so i wouldn't drop her. She gripped onto me really tight. We flew up out of the forest and over a lake. I saw another little village, so we landed right beside it. I continued running with Jamie in my grip. We ran into an abandoned shed. I sat down panting.
"Safe for now" i said in between breathes.
Jamie just hugged me
"Thank you Cornelius" she said looking into my eyes.
"I flew!" i shouted just realizing it. "haha that was cool!" i shounted again.
Jamie just looked at me and smiled.
"Yeah, that was pretty cool" she said.
I was feeling more hungry by the second. I was holding my stomache.
"Lets go for something to eat" i said taking her hand.
We walked out of the shed and into the village. I put my hood on over my head. As we walking Jamie accidentally walked into someone.
"Watch where your going!" yelled the man.
"Dont you yell at her like that!" i yelled at the man.
Then something took me over, i pulled him into an alleyway and bit him and sucked his blood. I whiped my mouth and walked out of the alley like nothing happened.
"Alright i feel better now" i said smiling. Jamie just looked at me.
"What did you do?" she asked looking at me weirdly.
"I dont know.. it was like something took me over.. but dont worry about it.. we gotta keep going" i replyed rubbing my head.
I put my hood back on. We walked by a fruit market. I grabbed some when no one was looking. We continued walking through the village. I looked into the sky and the sun was coming back out.
"Lets take shelter for the day" i said looking around.
"Lets go back to that shed we were at earlier" she suggested.
"Sounds good" i said.
We walked back to the shed, and closed the door behind us. I found an old broom in it so i used it to lock the door.
"Want some fruit?" i asked handing it to Jamie.
"Sure, thank you" she said happily taking it.
"So.. did you kill that guy back there?" Jamie asking, taking a bite of the apple.
"Uh.. im not really sure" i replyed "I only took some blood, not all though" i added.
We talked for about an hour of different things that we had on our minds, and about our past lives. I yawned. I was starting to feel tired. I fell asleep.
"Cornelius!!" Jamie yelled into my ear.
"What? whats wrong?" I asked looking up at her.
"I heard people outside of the shed!" she said nervously.
I got up quietly and walked over to the door. I removed the broom and opened the door slowly. I put my hood up. I peaked my head out and seen kids about our age. I walked out and shut the door behind me.
"What are you guys doing around here?" i asked them.
"Thats our shed!" said one of them.
"Well we found it so its ours now" i replyed irratated.
He pushed me. I was getting really angry but i had to resist. Too many witnesses around. I pushed him back and he fell and hit his head. 'shit' i thought. I went back into the shed and locked it again with the broom.
"What was that all about?" Jamie asked.
"Just some stupid kids" i replyed sitting down beside her.
About about 15 minutes we heard a knock on the shed door.
"Hello, please open this door, i want to talk to you about pushing my kid" came a voice from the other side of the door.
I got up and walked over to the door, and removed the broom once again and opened the door. I put my hood up once again. I stepped out and closed the door behind me.
"Is he the boy that pushed you Ryan?" the father asked his son.
"Yes" said Ryan hiding behind his dad.
I snapped. Something took over me once again. I grabbed the father and bit and sucked his blood. He fell to the ground. All the kids just stood there staring. I went into the shed and closed the door.
"We got to get out of here" I said taking Jamies hand.
We left the shed and i ran with her holding my hand. I started flying again. I gripped her tighter. We flew over lakes and more forests. We were flying for about 15 mintues. I looked down. I spotted my old house. We landed right in the driveway.
"Where are we?" Jamie asked looking at the house and then looking at me.
"This is my old house" I replied.
I walked up to the front door, Jamie following closely behind. I turned the doorknob. It was unlocked so it opened. I walked inside, Jamie came in behind me and i closed the door behind her. I looked around.
"Wow it looks the same as it did when we left" I said.
I went upstairs and into my sister's room. I sat on her bed, and looked around. I missed Emily alot. I got up and went into my parents room. I just stood at the doorway, the same doorway i stood at when i found my parents dead. I just stared at the bed. Jamie stood beside me.
"That is where i found them dead" I said pointing towards the bed.
"Oh that is terrible" Jamie said with her eyes watering.
I Went into my bedroom. I sat on my bed and looked at the picture on my bedside table. It was our family picture, of me, Emily and our parents. I started to cry. I missed them so much. Jamie sat down beside me and hugged me.
"Im sorry Cornelius" she said to me. I hugged her.
I put the picture back down on the table and got up and walked back downstairs. I went into the living room curled up on the couch. Jamie shortly followed and sat on the other couch. I fell asleep. I woke up a couple hours later and looked over and seen Jamie sleeping peacefully. I just watched her sleep. I went back upstairs and changed my clothes. When i got back downstairs i seen Jamie awake and sitting up.
"Are you alright?" i asked her sitting beside her. She just yawned and nodded her head.
"Can we stay here for the night?" she asked me "I like it here, I feel kind of safe" she added.
"Sure.. i was going to ask the same thing" i replyed.
Jamie and i went downstairs into the basement, i closed the door behind us. We sat down on the couch and i put a movie on.
"I will be right back" i said as i went into the basement closet.
I came back out with a blow up matress. I blew it up and put it in the middle of the floor and sat back down beside Jamie. Near the end of the movie i went back upstairs and locked the basement door and came back downstairs. When the movie was over, i turned it off and we both went to bed on the matress.

I put my hood back on. We walked by a fruit market. I grabbed some when no one was looking. We continued walking through the village. I looked into the sky and the sun was coming back out.
"Lets take shelter for the day" i said looking around.
"Lets go back to that shed we were at earlier" she suggested.
"Sounds good" i said.
We walked back to the shed, and closed the door behind us. I found an old broom in it so i used it to lock the door.
"Want some fruit?" i asked handing it to Jamie.
"Sure, thank you" she said happily taking it.

"Where are we?" Jamie asked looking at the house and then looking at me.
"This is my old house" I replied.
I walked up to the front door, Jamie following closely behind. I turned the doorknob. It was unlocked so it opened. I walked inside, Jamie came in behind me and i closed the door behind her. I looked around.
"Wow it looks the same as it did when we left" I said.
I went upstairs and into my sister's room. I sat on her bed, and looked around. I missed Emily alot. I got up and went into my parents room. I just stood at the doorway, the same doorway i stood at when i found my parents dead. I just stared at the bed. Jamie stood beside me.
"That is where i found them dead" I said pointing towards the bed.
"Oh that is terrible" Jamie said with her eyes watering.
I Went into my bedroom. I sat on my bed and looked at the picture on my bedside table. It was our family picture, of me, Emily and our parents. I started to cry. I missed them so much. Jamie sat down beside me and hugged me.
"Im sorry Cornelius" she said to me. I hugged her.
I put the picture back down on the table and got up and walked back downstairs. I went into the living room curled up on the couch. Jamie shortly followed and sat on the other couch. I fell asleep. When i got back downstairs i seen Jamie awake and sitting up.

"Can we stay here for the night?" she asked me "I like it here, I feel kind of safe" she added.
"Sure.. i was going to ask the same thing" i replyed.
Jamie and i went downstairs into the basement, i closed the door behind us. We sat down on the couch and i put a movie on.
"I will be right back" i said as i went into the basement closet.
I came back out with a blow up matress. I blew it up and put it in the middle of the floor and sat back down beside Jamie. Near the end of the movie i went back upstairs and locked the basement door and came back downstairs. When the movie was over, i turned it off and we both went to bed on the matress.
