Too Close For Comfort

Chapter 4
\"Thanks Rosie I\'ll see you tomorrow.\" Renny opened the door of the little cafe and stepped into the night. She was happy that she had finally finished moping the floor and got to leave a bit early. She was tired and had a surprise for Alex. She couldn\'t wait to see his reaction to what she had in mind. She smiled coyly as she walked to her car but dropped her keys in the gravel. \"Shit, where are they?\" She peered at the ground searching but it was no use it was too dark and she was too tired. She turned to go back inside.
\"Hello, little girl,\" a man said from the shadows. Renny could tell who it was but he was holding her keys so she approched him to ask for them back. \"Thanks for finding my keys, where did you...\" she trailed off as she realized who he was. It was him. She looked strait into his eyes, they were intense with hate for her. She started to scream, but he was on her before she made a peep. His hand covered her mouth and the other was around her chest, restraining her.
He whispered into her ear, \"Hello Renny, I see that you remember me. I was happy to hear that you were back in the states. I have been waiting for this. If only you hadnt woken up then we would not be here now.\" He took out a knife and she gazed in terror. \'What is he going to do? He can\'t kill me here.\' She started to tear up, but held back crying altogether. She wasn\'t going to let him win.
He took his hand off her mouth and put the knife to her throat. \"What are you going to do to me. You can\'t kill me here, there are too many people that would find me here before you even had a chance to get away.\" she spat out the words. \"Oh no Renny, I\'m not going to kill you here. I\'m going to wait untill you least expect it, when your live in protector is out, I\'ll be waiting.\" \"You smug bastard.\" He let her go and disappeared into the darkness. She fell to her knees, crying. She looked at the ground and saw her keys, she picked them up and got into her car and drove home. SHe was shaking and needed Alex to hold her.

She walked in the door and yelled, with a shaking voice, for Alex. He came running down the hallway and as soon as he saw here face he knew something was wrong. \"What is it? What happened? Are you alright?\" he looked concerned. \"He was waiting for me. Outside the cafe. He..he had my..my keys and...and...\" she burst into tears. He wrapped his arms around her. \"It\'s ok. It will be ok. I\'m going to call my boss and convince him to send someone to watch the place when i\'m at work. I will still stay with you.\" She looked up at him, grateful for all he was doing for her.
That night, Renny had a hard time falling asleep. She got up to make some warm milk and to try and calm her nerves. She walked into the living room to find Alex asleep on the couch with the lamp on. \'He must have been up trying to help me,\' she thought. She stood infront of the couch watching him sleep. She reached over to the chair and grabbed a blanket to cover him up with. She placed it on him and his eyes fluttered open. \"Hey, there.\" He sat up and looked at her. She was smiling sleepally. \"What are you doing up?\" he asked her. \"I couldn\'t sleep.\" She walked over to the kitchen and opened the frige and took out the milk. She poured some into a glass and looked over at him, \"Want some?\" \" No thanks, I going to bed.\" \"Ok. Night.\" He stred down the hall. \"Alex?\" He turned, \"yeah?\" \" Um would you sleep in my room tonight? I\'m afraid that he will try to come after me and it would help me sleep if i knew that you were close by.\" He stared at her in shock of what she had just asked him. \"Um, well, i am right across the hall from you and...well it could cause problems.\" She looked at the floor, then said \"Please. I need to be close to someone right now.\" He walked over to her and brushed her lips with his. \"Alright, but i\'m going to sleep on the floor.\"
They walked down the hall and into her room. She pulled a blanket off her bed along with a pillow and gave it to him. He took his shirt off and layed down. He looked up just in time to see Renny take off the robe she was wearing. Her body was so perfect it made him stare. She had perfectly sculpted legs and arms. She was starting to lay down next to him. \"What are you doing?\" he inquired. \"You said you wanted to sleep on the floor, so here we are,\" she smiled at him. \" I meant I am going to take the floor and you have the bed. I didn\'t mean for both of us to have the floor, it would be good. I cant have any distractions.\" \"DISTRACTIONS! I\'m a distraction? What about last night, you didnt seem to mind my distraction.\" Renny spit the words out, she was angry. \"I meant that if you want me to protect you we cannot be sleep right next to each other.\" He was choking on his words. He would have loved to sleep in the same bed with her, to hold her tight, but he couldnt ensure her safty if he got too emotional. \"Oh ok so you dont like me you just wanted play. I get it.\" She bolted up off the floor and stomped to her bed and got in. \"Renny dont be mad...\" \"Not another word! Good night!\" she screamed, then flicked the light off.
