9. Kago Yasuragi/Yasuragi Kago
“You suck at this game, Yuki,” Kago said from his bed, watching Yuki trying her hardest to defeat the weakest warrior on the weakest level of the newest video game. “Why don’t you get over it and actually study, like you came over here to do.” Plus he wanted her off of the game because he himself wanted to play it.
Yuki moved along with her hand movements, jerking from side to side as her feminine character on the screen threw punches and kicks that mostly landed on empty air. “I will not stop until I beat this one person!”
“You are going to be here all night.” Kago rolled his eyes and pretended to do his homework. He looked up several times to make sure that Yuki was thoroughly paying attention to the game, and when he was satisfied he pulled out the picture that was hidden inside his notebook. It was taken last summer, their last summer of junior high, while the whole large group was at the beach. Shai, Fuji, Yuki, Kaori, Nakago, Kago, and Danko had all gone down to the beach and had a full day in the sun. The picture, however, was only of Fuji, a couple of hours before he had kissed her. She was standing in the water, her black bikini starting to slip. She had reached up to adjust the top part of it and he had snapped the picture. The sun had hit her right, the angle was perfect, and it was the only picture he had of just Fuji.
A few hours later, as it had grown dark, everyone had separated to do different things. Yuki and Shai had gone to find a food vendor, Danko had gone to watch the race cars on the track nearby, and Kaori and Nakago had disappeared. Fuji was still sitting on the beach, looking out at the water even though it was nothing but cool air and moonlight. Kago had allowed her to borrow his shirt, and now she wore a black bikini underneath a white button down, and she was lovely.
Kago had walked over to her and sat next to her, talking of how beautiful the night was, then he had leaned over to kiss her. At first she had kissed him back, and then suddenly she stepped back, terror stricken. She yelled at him, asking him if he knew what he was doing. He knew Yuki liked him, he had known for a while, but he told her it was her he wanted, not Yuki. Fuji was the quintessential woman, and he wanted her to himself. She denied him and ran off to find her friends. As far as he was aware she had never told anyone what had happened, but he never forgot the feel of her lips pressed against his.
“Kago?” He did not realize Yuki was suddenly standing over him, her eyes traveling straight towards the picture he lovingly held in his hand. He shoved it back in his notebook and closed his books.
“I think it’s time to quit for the night,” he told her sourly. “I have a lot more homework to do, and you aren’t helping, you are just playing video games.” He looked up to Yuki and did not see what she always hoped he would see. He saw a girl with flattening hair and dull eyes, a girl with an optimistic look on life who made a really good friend. They were friends, it was all they were, but he did not know how to tell her that without losing her as a friend. She meant a lot to him, he just could never imagine getting a hard on looking at her, or even kissing her the way he had kissed Fuji.
“You’re probably right,” she sighed. “Plus I promised my dad I would do a few more chores around the house since I broke the window the other day.”
Kago snickered and saw her to the door. “I will see you tomorrow at school, Yuki,” he said to her. She nodded and ran out of the house. She ran down the street towards her house, not running form him, but just running for the sake of running.
Kago stepped back and was about to close the door completely when a red corvette came into view. He could not forget the look of that car, only one person within the whole area owned that car.
Nakago stepped out and waved to the younger man. Kago waved back and waited for Nakago to come to the door. Nakago walked into the house without being invited and turned to Kago with a sneer. “I need your help with something,” he said and let Kago close the door behind him.
A/N: Yes, it\'s a short chapter, but it was more just a plot device. Smut, girls, and Shai are coming up in later chapters. Please REVIEW!!!! Tell me you want more, or I may lose interest in writing this.
