Trials.
Jolt and Metalla sat in Flaming cages in the living room of the ESH\'s secret hideout. Flame was the Judge, and Wind, Flood and Earth were the Jurors.
Ice and Bud were in the hospital, sitting diglently by Leaf, who was alive, but hurt like hell.
Ice sat at the hospital bed’s side, touching Leaf’s hair, watching him.
Back to the house, Flame was calling the \'court\' to order.
\"Objection!\" Metalla cried.
\"Overruled.\" Flame said, banging her gavel.
\"But I want an impartial judge!\" Metalla cried, \"And an impartial jury!\"
\"Isn\'t there suppose to be twelve in a jury?\" Jolt asked.
\"Not enough friends.\" Flame said flatly towards Jolt, then looked at Metalla, \"We are impartial, you\'re just guilty, that\'s all.\"
Wind, Flood and Earth all nodded.
“But...but...” Metalla said, “What about that damned amendment that says one has a right to a fair and impartial jury?”
“We don’t play by those rules, that’s what Dr. Cross would do.” Flame said. “Now, silence.”
Metalla sat down in her cage and scowled.
“But the witnesses are the jurors!” Jolt said, “That doesn’t seem quite right.”
“Then just plead guilty now.” Flame said, “so we can go back to our normal lives.”
“Since when are OUR lives normal?” Earth asked Flood. Flood shrugged.
“Now, for the verdict...” Flame said, looking at the jury.
“But...trial first!” Metalla said, “What are we... ‘Alice in Wonderland?’”
“Yes, and I’m the Red Queen... SIT DOWN” Flame roared.
Metalla sat quietly.

At the hospital, Bud and Ice were watching as a nurse put up another I.V. bag for Leaf.
“What happened to him?” the Nurse asked.
“Electrocution...” Ice said, “He was helping us fix the house and touched a live wire...”
“Well, he took a lot of voltage, but he should be fine...” The nurse said, walking out of the room.
“I hope he wakes soon.” Bud said.
“So do I... but I also want to see how the others are going to punish Jolt and Metalla.” Ice said, running her fingers through Leaf’s hair.

“GUILTY!” Flame roared, banging her gavel again and again.
“Pardon?” Metalla said. “Why are we guilty...”
“Attempted murder... plotting and conspiracy...” Flame said, “Oh, and being a spy too, Metalla.”
“WHAT?” Jolt said, “She’s a spy???”
“Of COURSE she’s a spy! We knew that from the day we met her... dude, if she could control metal, why was she strapped to the wall with METAL handcuffs?”
“But...” Jolt said.
“She can control metal sometimes, not all the time.” Flame said.
“Yes, I am a spy...and I am not like you freaks. I am CRISTIAN!” Metalla laughed evilly.
“Flaming Winds!” Wind said, jumping up, “She’s a henchman for Dr. CROSS!”
Metalla laughed, “Yes... and he knows were you guys are hiding!”
Jolt laughed, “And how do you know where we are anyways? I don’t even know where we are!”
Metalla stopped and thought, “I will show him to the hideout!”
Flame leaned down over the podium and smiled, “Who said anything about you making it out of here alive?”
Metalla gulped.

Three hours later, the group had taken the two guilty parties outside to give them their punishments.
“What are our punishments?” Metalla cried.
“De-powering and a mind scan for Jolt... We aren’t sure what to do with you yet.”
“Hey Flame...” Wind said.
“Yes Wind?”
“I think we should let Ice get a hold of him a bit too...”
“Good idea. Maybe we should go see them in the hospital? I wonder how Leaf’s doing...” Flame said, “Ice seems to like him.”
Earth sighed, “Ya think?”

“Guys... I feel bad, Leaf isn’t awake yet.” Ice said, pacing.
“Ah, Ice, he’s a plant, he needs sunlight, water and tender loving care.” Wind said.
“What are you saying?” Ice said, looking at Flame, Wind and Flood.
“I’m saying that I’m a gardener... I can help nurse him back to health.” Wind smiled.
“What are you saying? You’re a Wind of all trades?” Ice smiled.
“Look.” Wind said, flatly, “Do you want me to help your future boyfriend or not?”
Ice stepped aside, “Sorry...”
Flame hugged the now sleep deprived Ice, it had been two days since the ‘accident’ and Ice and Bud had been by Leaf’s side ever since.
Jolt and Metalla, in case any of you were curious...were still in their cages made of fire and wind, only in the house, not by themselves mind you... Earth was there.
“Earth... please, let me out of here,” Jolt was trying to say.
“No, you tried to kill Leaf, and you really, really pissed off Ice. You aren’t getting out of this one, well, not without a few bruises and marks.” Earth smiled.
“Well, Earth-y...what about me?”
Earth turned to look at Metalla, “Fuck no.”
Jolt jumped in his cage, “EARTH! Watch your mouth!”
“For once Jolt... you can’t tell me what to do.” Earth said, reaching into the cage and smacking Jolt hard.

“Leaf...” Ice was half asleep, resting her head on the sleeping man’s chest.
“Wind...” Flame grabbed Wind’s hand and shook her head, “Leave Ice there. She’s so worried about him.”
Wind, who was going to get up and move Ice to one of the cots that the hospital allowed them to use for the night, sat back down next to Flame and nodded. “I... I know.”
Flame sighed.
“What’s wrong Flame?” Flood said, she was laying on a cot. Bud was sound asleep in the cot next to her.
“I... I am worried. We need an Electric elemental to complete our Maelstrom attack... and it won’t feel right without Jolt.” Flame said.
“Oh, don’t tell me you are feeling SORRY for Jolt, he tried to kill Leaf!” Wind hissed, softly, so not to wake up Ice.
“No, no... he’ll get his. We just need to find someone who has similar powers.” Flame said.
“I... I know an Electro.” Wind said, “I’ll call him after we get rid of Metalla and Jolt.” Wind smiled, laying down on the double cot that he was to share with Flame.
“Hmm... I hope this all works out, we really need as many of our ‘kind’ as we can get.” Flame said, laying down to sleep.

“LEAF!” Ice was hugging him, he was running his fingers through her hair, chuckling.
“Now, now Ice, let me breathe...” Leaf said.
“I was so worried about you Leaf...” Ice said.
“We all were...” Bud, his twin brother, said.
Flame and Wind smiled. “Good Morning Leaf.”
Leaf smiled, “So, about my incident...”
Flame shook her head, “They attempted to kill you, not incapacitate you. They will be punished.”
Ice looked up at Flame, “And about the ESH?”
Flame merely nodded at Wind and walked over to Leaf and extended her hand, “Welcome to the Elemental Super Heros!”
Bud looked at Leaf, “Wow... you are an ESH!”
Ice hugged Leaf, “Welcome!”
Leaf messed with her hair, “What about Bud?”
Bud laughed, “I’d rather be a butler or something. I’d like to live in the ESH home, but not be a Superhero.”
Wind looked at Flame, “We could use someone like that...”
Bud interjected, “I can cook, clean and do whatever it takes!”
Flame nodded, “Welcome to the household Bud.”

After the doctor released Leaf from the hospital, the group returned home to where Earth had kept an eye on Jolt and Metalla.
As soon as Leaf opened the door, Ice pounced on Jolt, through the fire bars. She choked him, “YOU IDIOT! MORON! IMBECILE!!!!!! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU! I HATE YOU!!!! IHATEYOUIHATEYOUHOWCOULDYOUDOTHATTOHIMIHOPEYOUNEVERSEETHELIGHTOFDAYAGAIN!”
It took both Flame and Wind to pull her off of the now blue toned Jolt.
Leaf held onto her, “There, there Ice... we all were going to take care of him. We have made a deal with the Mayor.”
Ice looked at Flame, “For?”
Flame laughed, “We are going to de-power both of them, then send them to the county jail, for attempted murder.”
Ice nodded, “Shall we continue with the de-powering?”
Leaf, Wind, Flame, Flood, Bud, and Earth brought Jolt and Metalla to their ritual room.
Flame cast the circle around the entire group, with a warning to Earth, “Don’t break it t his time... okay?”
Earth nodded as Flame continued to chant, “Gracious one...we ask of you to punish these two as you see fit.”
Earth shoved Metalla and Jolt into the center of the circle.
“They have broken the creed, they have used their powers not for good, but for evil. Jolt attempted to harm another, someone who did nothing more than talk to his girlfriend, he allowed jealously to decide his movements...”
Wind stepped forward, “Gracious Goddess...” He took a breath, “The one called Metalla conspired and carried out the attempted murder of one of our own... Metalla is not one of our own. She is a spy. We ask for you to judge them well...”
Ice stood forward now, and spoke, “Good Goddess, Jolt was once held high in my heart, and you had blessed me with his love, but now, he had turned away from the Elemental group and has allowed the darkness to fill his heart. I ask that you continue to bless the rest of the group, as you have in the past, but... I ask that you show Jolt and Metalla the things they did wrong.”
Flood stepped forward, “Wondrous Goddess, I have nothing more to add, you know what they did, and you know what will happen to them. I only ask that you continue to bless us all.”
Earth stepped up, “My Goddess... I want a pony...”
Bud reached over and smacked him. Earth giggled and shook his head, “Judge them well. As you always have. I give them to you, they are in your hands now, great one.”
Leaf spoke next, “I know that they tried to cause me harm, oh Gracious one. I am thankful to you for allowing me to recover from the attack. I...ask that you give them fair and right judgements.”
Flame spoke again, “And now... as all of us had asked for the Goddess’ audience, I see it only fit that both of those who are impending judgements to have a few words.”
Jolt was then poked by Earth, and he spoke, “Goddess, I know I have done wrong, and I am sorry that I had harmed another. I did do it in jealousy, and I did do it without thinking. I admit that I was jealous, and I know I did wrong. If I could take it back, I would. I ask that you spare my powers so that I may continue to help the ESH in their fight to rid the world of evil. If you do, however, decide that I am to go on living without my powers, I would say that I deserve it and I will not speak sourly of you. Please, decide wisely. I want to say a bit to Flame and the others if I may...” Jolt looked at Earth and around the circle.
“Please, go right ahead...” Flame said.
Jolt took a breath, “To... to Flame, I apologize for the pains I have caused you, I never meant to harm you. To Wind, I thank you for the friendship, and the valiant attempt in saving my relationship. To Flood, you are a true friend and I am sorry that I have put you through so much. To Earth, I am terribly sorry that I never let you play my game-boy. To Leaf, I only ask that you are not sour with me about the attack, I feel as bad as a soul could feel about it...”
Ice looked at Jolt, she knew she was next.
Jolt took a deep breath, “To my caring Ice. Although you try to pass yourself off as cold and unloving, you are a wonderful, warm and caring individual. You are always going to be in my heart, and I should have let you go. As the old saying goes, ‘If you love someone, let them go, if it comes back to you, it will be yours forever, if it never does come back it was never yours to begin with.’ Ice... you have touched my heart, and no matter what happens to me, knowing that I caused you so much pain is enough punishment for me...” Jolt then looked down at his bound wrists.
“Are you finished?” Flame said.
Ice held her head low, those words rattling her very bones, and touching her heart.
“And now, for Metalla...” Flame said quietly.
“I cannot compete with Jolt’s touching speech at all...” Metalla said, “All I can say is... I am merely an accomplice, Jolt came up with the entire plan. I am innocent and I will uphold my honor and duty. Besides... I AM A SPY! I willingly admit it. If I am allowed to go free, you all know what I will do, I am working for Dr. Cross...”
Collective, not surprised gasp.
“And I do not believe in YOUR deity! May I walk out of here free and be not harmed!”
Flame flicked her wrist, and so did Ice, Wind and Flood. Soon, Jolt and Metalla were surrounded by a strange glowing blue flame.
“And now...” Flame said, “Your judgements await!”
The flame engulfed both Jolt and Metalla, and when the flame subsided, the two of them were gone.
Gone to their Judgement.
((Sorry, forgive me Flame, and Wind, but after Jolt’s speech, I need help deciding if he shall continue on with the group or not. He was really sincere. Now, I know Metalla’s judgement, but Jolt... I need to know if he should continue with the group or not. I KNOW it’s a cliffie, but... you understand that YOU decide the corse that this story will take.
