“Crystal? Crystal,
are you okay?”

Crystal got up and left, leaving a confused friend behind her.

The bird had a smile in his voice when he spoke, “Did you
know that since I am linked to Kai’s soul, he can hear and see everything I

Sapphire, trying to calm down a little.

said, closing her eyes and doing as she was told.

bird.

“If you were shot with a laser,” began the bird, “the flesh
would grow back.”
“Which means what?”
“That cat is linked to your soul just as I am to Kai.
