Chapter 6

Chapter 6~

Nydia opened her mouth to scream but a large hand clamped down on her mouth, stifling the sound. She struggled but his grip was tight on her mouth and on her left arm. She was pushed against the rough bark of a tree and her mind began race, trying to figure out what he wanted. One thing came back to her many times but she always shoved it away, she would not let her body be used.

Then suddenly the hand covering her mouth moved away and the grip on her arm lessened slightly. The man brought a finger to his lips in a signal for her to be quiet. He stood, drawing her up with him. The man with golden eyes picked her up swiftly, stopping her from struggling or screaming with his muscular arms and strong, callused hands.

She stared at him, eyes wide as she trembled in his arms. He had straight, medium length, black hair that was pulled back in a small ponytail. He had sharp features, very unlike her own rounded face, or Guthrie’s sunken cheeks and eyes. His skin was slightly darker than her own tanned skin, but even as dark as it was it still held a slightly olive tone

It was his eyes that startled her the most. They were a shade of gold that seemed to glow in the darkness, and flash as small beams of moonlight came through the tree tops. She watched him, in fascinated horror, as those shining yellow orbs took in everything around him with quick, but intense glances.

After less than a minute, though it seemed to be a lifetime to Nydia, the man stopped and crouched down, Nydia still held tightly in his arms. It was then that she heard the voices of three men. The man with the golden eyes nodded towards the sound and then looked at her, in a silent command to listen. And she did, and her eyes widened eyen more as she listened to the slurred words of the three men.

“I can’t wait until we get our hands on that little bitch. I have dreamed of slamming myself into that little body of her’s.” One man said and the two other’s laughed and hit their glasses together with a clink.

“Neither can I.” Another said, “Master Guthrie gave us permission to use her for whatever we want during the trip back home. She won’t have any energy left when we get her back to him.”

The last one spoke now, slurring slightly more than the other two. “I don’t blame him for wanting us to break her in a little before he gets to her. When we’re done with her she won’t have any fight left in her. She’ll be as submissive as a little lamb, and she’ll never run away from him again!” A shout of ‘Here, here!’ greeted this little speech and all three of the men laughed.

Nydia was shaking violently in the arms of the golden eyed man, clutching at the coarse fabric of his shirt as if it were her life line. As if feeling her fear the trees creaked and their branches seemed to reach out to her. Then her rescuer, for she couldn’t think of him as anything else, stood silently and swiftly made his way back toward where she had slept. When he reached her resting pace she expected him to put her down, but he did not. Instead he carried her further away from Guthrie’s men, and into a highly condensed area of trees.

The man deftly avoided rocks and tree branches as he carried her through threstrest. He never looked down at her, but his hand had uncovered her mouth. Nydia felt herself relax, he wouldn’t hurt her. He saved her from Guthrie’s men, he wouldn’t use her body. Nydia didn’t know why she felt that he was trustworthy, it was just a feeling in the pit of her stomach.

Her hold on his shirt lessened and her eyelids drifted shut. She wared red and she couldn’t keep her eyes open any longer. As she teetered on the brink of sleep she heard whispering voices all around her. They were soothing voices, and they reminded her of the way her father used to sing her to sleep when she was small. Our gentle human daughter will be safe now. She is with the one who speaks with wolves. As she heard these soft words Nydia fell into the realm of peaceful sleep. She dreamed of her father.

AN: So what do you think? And yes I know, I added unexplained voices, but acctualy they\'re not really unexplained. Look back at the prophecy if you\'re confused. Don\'t worry everything will all come together in the end. I promise.

Zelix: Yes I am delightfully evil. *Muahahaha* well anyway... I\'m glad you still like me even after the cliffy. I don\'t plan to rush this story at all. It probably won\'t ovelovel lenght or anything, but it won\'t be one of those, done in five chapter stories, as you can already tell because this is chapter six. :) I like your \'Sinner\' story, and I\'m sorry about my littevieeview mishap. Toodles,
~Casey
